So by these parameters, a respondent having suffered psychological aggression from one partner once would be included in the lifetime prevalence estimate for intimate partner violence.
And I'm highlighting psychological aggression here not because it's less impactful but because it's more prone to subjective perception than physical abuse and thus liable to be distorted by (documented) overestimation of victimization by men (which I think this report clearly reflects) and underestimation of victimization by women which is influenced by sexuality; whereas a coercive behaviour socially accepted in men will stand out as (rightfully) aberrant in women.
Example: a stay at home female partner and a breadwinner male who controls the household finances is considered normal in heterosexual relationships, but not in lesbian relationships; consequentially, it's more normalised for men to prioritise their own leisure in detriment of their partner's financially, whereas this would stand out immediately in a same-sex relationship.
A lesbian might (rightfully) report a partner withholding finances as coercive control, whereas a heterosexual woman might not ("he works, he deserves it" etc).
But even so, the parameters for psychological aggression in this report are:
"Psychological aggression includes expressive aggression (such as name calling, insulting, or humiliating an intimate partner), and
coercive control, which includes behaviors that are intended to monitor and control or threaten an intimate partner."
So, first of all, let's take name calling. We (radfems) are aware that bitch, cunt, whore, slut, etc., is violent sex-specific language. At large? Not so much. We also know lesbians are more likely to have or have had contact with feminist frameworks and would be more aware of this paradigm than het women in general. A het woman hearing some sotto voce bitch now and then by her partner might barely register it, whereas a lesbian is much more likely to notice.
"Insulting, humiliating" are the perceived violence most over-reported by men. Again, this report had 99.5 % of heterosexual men claiming to have suffered intimate partner violence from women.
And by the report's own parameters, if a woman "rudely" rejected his idea of anal and he felt humiliated once, this goes into the stats.
So, taking into account the documented influence of social norms and conditioning, the small sample size for same-sex respondents, the lack of desegregated data for itemized responses, the extrapolation into lifetime prevalence percentage, and the fact it's a self-reported survey, I'd say it's extremely low quality and unreliable data even if adjusted for relative domestic abuse statistics like femsolid did.
