RIP Marjane Satrapi, author of the amazing graphic novels Persepolis about living during the fundamentalist revolution in Iran in the 70’s and 80’s. She also created the animated movie based on the graphic novels, which is where these gifs come from.

There's a recurring online tendency to aestheticize consensus itself. In a lot of Hellenic magic, it was common to use a young boy as a medium for spirit possession, as they were considered especially spiritually pure, and thus easy for the spirits to speak through.
