I'm worried that instead of John helping Pete, Pete's going to be a bad influence and John will end up falling off the wagon.

Hi! While I can see why you might be concerned, I really don’t think you have to be. For one, Pete has already admitted to quitting a bunch of stuff, which may be in part from John’s influence. And even if he haden’t, I don’t think he was actually doing too many ‘bad’ things in the first place? Also, John’s a married man with a more-than-stable job, so I think he can probably handle himself. And, while I know we don’t really know John at all, just what he portrays, he seems like one of the more emotionally stable people in Hollywood. So overall, I really wouldn’t worry about Pete being a bad influence on John.

I’m not sure if someone’s said this already but basically younger generations are more likely to say of course and older generations are more likely to say you’re welcome. This is because older generation feel others are not entitled to their help and any help they do give is a favor, so their response to thanks is to acknowledge and accept it, whereas younger generations feel obligated to help others, so their response to thanks is to wave it off as no big deal.
