Oh Kaladin, Kelsier would have annoyed the hell out of you. Always smiling, always optimistic, flaring his powers around, basically instigating a religion in his own name. And worst of all, you have almost the same nickname.
Yes Kelsier is arrogant and kind of full of himself most of the time, but father-figure-Kelsier whenever he is interacting with Vin makes all of that okay
The amount of joy and happiness I get whenever Hoid pops up in a Cosmere book is incredible
Hear me out: a game of thrones style adaptation of Ken Luiās dandelion series, starting with Grace of Kings. Allow the story to stretch over multiple seasons, fleshing out the characters. Imagine the friends to enemies, the epic battles, killing of characters you thought were going to be endgame. It would be great.
I've definitely posted this sentiment before BUT being the same age as your blorbos is so insane because Mr kaladin stormblessed is out here leading people into war and becoming a magical demigod figure but he's also never heard of college. never experienced the epic highs and lows of football or whatever. I'm also 20 and depressed but hey I'm getting me my degree and this bitch can't even read.
Okay, I caved in and Iām giving mistborn another chance, in audiobook format this time cause Michael Kramer can make anything enjoyable. I read the first book many years ago, but Iām reminded now on a reread that I donāt remember that much from it. Currently about a quarter through and enjoying it more than I thought.
Iāve been in the cosmere sphere long enough to be spoiled about some general stuff in the series, such as the importance of Sazed, Kelsierās antihero arc and supposed death etc but Iām still looking forward to the journey there (see what I did there?).
One thought I had just now. At one point Sazed is explaining the religions to Vin that he ācollectsā and Vin asks him how he remembers them all. He answers that there he has āwaysā¦ā. This reminded me a lot of how for instance Hoid stores his memories in breaths. Is Sazed a world hopper, or is there something similar in the Scadrian magic system..?
Finished warbreaker the other day, and it is definitely one of Sandersonās best imo. Iāve read all of stormlight multiple times, as well as the secret projects, Elantris and the first mistborn book. Unfortunately I didnāt really get captivated by it and stopped after the final empire. Is it worth to plow through to get to era 2?
So Iām reading Warbreaker for the first time (yes I know I should probably have read it before Stormlight Archive but here we are) and Vasher and Vivenna are trying to figure out what Denthās plan was;
āOne of the straw men began to jump up and down. The other two rushed over to it and the. They began to bounce as well. Vasher joined them,ā
I know it is not what Brandon meant, but now I canāt stop picturing Vasher jumping up and down next to three small awakened straw figures
