Among coffee and pastries || Jack and Hiccup
Jack had only let down the phone on his nightstand it buzzed again. He took it back hastily it nearly dropped it. a frown appeared on his forehead.
Donât do that to me. Iâll go and revive you. Minutes passed without an answer from Hiccup, he was about to type again to ask if he was really okay when he received another message. This time it made Jack laugh. Sorry still need to buy the armour. Apparently it was as easy to speak to Hiccup by texts as it was in real life.
Oh please none of those mouth to mouth jokes! -.- came the reply from Hiccup as he had finally finished cleaning all the tables and the counter. Does an armour cost much? If not, go and get one and save me from this boring task! He hit send again, to only keep on typing: But Iâm almost done⊠just the trash left!
Jack's smile only grew wider, and his heart go faster too. He typed his answer very quickly. I never talked about mouth to mouth stuff. You brought that up. He personally never categorised CPR moves as sexy, he had no clue why it was seen like this most of the time in many plots. More texts kept coming. The armour topic was going to be a problem. Maybe I'll be only Lvl1 for now and don't need it. The experience will come soon enough. It felt satisfying to think he could distract Hiccup during the laborious work of closure.

Hiccup flinched. Oh it has been a so embarrassing moment. He had been so stupid to break his leg like that. But it brought back another thought: how Jack took him so easily in his arms then and his face heated up. He rubbed the back of his neck and cleared his throat.
"Donât talk about itâŠ" At least he could use the opportunity to make a better leg. To prevent any other falls Hiccup decided to never remove his eyes from the ground, surveying any vicious root or pebble. He felt so stupid for having to go to such extents but there was no way he was going to eat dirt again in front of Jack. The weather was nice, and the sun still high, it was a great moment to walk outside.
Just after the words had left his mouth Jack wished he could take them back. But it was impossible. He didnât want to embarrass the younger male but he had lacked of words to say. He cleared his throat and stopped in his tracks after they had entered the forest a little deeper. He wondered where they should start looking and he decided that they would check the traps in a circle, just how they had set them up. "Alright, here we goâŠmaybe youâll get to know the area better like this, too. Maybe you can remember a few places from the last time." he said and smiled a little nervously. GodâŠwhy was he so nervous? And he really shouldnât adress God for something like this eitherâŠ!
Hiccup was still focused on the trail when Jack stopped. He noticed only too late when the other's feet entered his path of vision, and the abrupt stop caused him to instinctively raise his hands and catch both of Jack's arms to hold himself upright. He was only lucky that he didn't crash his nose and entire face in between his friend's shoulders. "S...Sorry." he said quickly, moving one step back as fast as this whole thing happened. Oh no why did it have to be this awkward. Like this moment when they were near the lake and the fell on each other... Gods, I didn't need to be remembered that, Hiccup thought, and slightly flushed. "I...I'll try. Right." Distraction. Good. Look right and left, try to recognize the place. Somehow it was quite hard to concentrate.
Autumn's chill
Jack discovered it was actually more difficult to stay still when inside. Usually when he rests on a branch or a roof he always have millions of things to look at, could it be only the shapes of the clouds or the smell of the wind. Even in Northâs workshop, there were always something to look at in every direction.
Hiccupâs home was small, and even if there was a lot of things to observe, after a while, that was it. Even so he stayed perfectly still and silent. After a while he could hear Hiccupâs calm breathing and hear the sounds from the forest around them. It was different than being outside. Peaceful, but still a little stifling to him. The autumn spiritâs voice took him out of his reverie.
"HmâŠ? Work?" What was he talking about? Oh yes, his work. Not that he forgot, he just, well⊠maybe he forgot just for a little while. But the world wouldnât end because he was a little late right? He could spend a little of his time with Hiccup instead. But the other spirit was right. He grunted, threading a hand in his hair. "Maybe. Yeah." As much as he wanted to ignore it, the nagging feeling that Hiccup as bored with him and it was the reason he wanted him to leave now was still stubbornly here.
He smiled a little and turned until he could rest the side of his head against Jackâs shoulder, sitting between his legs like he did back at the lake. He sighed silently. âI fear if you donât go soon Iâll stay like this for the rest of winter.â he admitted under his breath. He really would love Jack to stay but on the other hand his habit made him feel tired. Also he didnât want to keep Jack from something that was by far more important than sitting down here glued to each other. âAnd I fear that it would be even more boring for you than right now.â he tried to ease the tension he felt crawling up his body.
The autumn spirit's words reassured him a bit. So he wasn't weary of him in the end, maybe it was the other way around and he actually thought the same: that he was annoying for Jack. How stupid. "And if you nestle yourself against me like this I won't dare to move until winter is finished." he answered. His hands came to rest on Hiccup's stomach were his fingers enterwined themselves idly. "So I guess I'll have to gather all my courage and motivation to leave your side and do my job, then." he added with a dramatic sigh.
Autumn's chill
Jack dared not to move in case Hiccup would stop what he was doing just now.
"Really?" he smiled. "Nobody ever told me that." Not that many people leant on him before. But Hiccup was the most important anyway. This was enough to make him ridiculously happy.
He cleared his throat awkwardly, crossing his arms in front of his chest while chewing on the insides of his cheek for a second. âYeahâŠreally.â he admitted slowly. He coudlnât exactly explain how another person could be comfortable, but it wasnât just leaning agsinst Jack or being in his arms. He was comfortable with being around the other. Even though it was still very, very awkward. They stayed like this in silence, just moving a little every now and then. The calm atmosphere made him a little sleepy, but he felt too anxious about falling asleep in front of Jack to actually do so. He wasnât sure for how long they had stayed like this when he turned his head a little and nuzzled Jackâs hoodie with his nose. Jack smelled good and he actually didnât want him to let go of him. But there was something that had come back to his mind in the past few minutes. âJackâŠdonât you have to work?â he asked silently, not wanting the other to get the impression that he wanted to get rid of him. He just didnât want to be responsable for Jack not getting finished in time.

âJack, I am going to keep him.â Hiccup had formed his hands into fists and let them rest against his hips, a stern look on his face. The tension fell from his body and he sighed. âOkay, no, I am not convincing enough. Maybe I should just tell him nicelyâŠâ he muttered to himself, slouching his shoulders before crossing his arms in front of his chest, again starting to pace up and down in the narrow room below the ground. âMaybe if I begâŠorâŠI mean, I live here, so it shouldnât be his choice if I can keep you or notâŠâ he continued, more talking to himself than his little guest who was lying on his bed, more busy to lick its paw instead of listening to Hiccupâs concerns. He let go of a heavy breath, followed by a long-drawn-out whine. âWhat am I going to do?â he asked, walking closer to the bed and sat down in front of it. Green glistening eyes rested on him immediately, suspicious and curious at the same time. The autumn spirit smiled and held out his hand, allowing the young cat to sniff his fingers. It took its time and after a few more moments the cat meowed silently, allowing Hiccup to touch him. âI have to give you a name! When you have a name itâs legit. And Jack canât say anything against it.â he concluded, gently rubbing the cat behind its ears. âDo you allow me to take you into my arms?â he asked the cat, which narrowed its eyes at the question. It was really a smart boy! It flicked its tail wildly while staring at Hiccup before it got up to its feet and stretched, mouth opening for a loooong yawn. And when it adjusted itself Hiccup dared it to pull it into his arms where it tensed up first but relaxed after a few seconds. Animals never had a problem with him, that made it by far easier to handle them. Now all he ha to do was to wait for Jack. And convince him. And since Jack had announced he would come to visit him here he wouldnât have to wait long. And indeed, maybe an hour later â in which Hiccup almost got tired of petting the furry fella â he heard the usual ruffling outside when Jack slid down to his door. Quickly he got to his feet, the cat not minding at all as long as Hiccup kept on petting it, and walked towards the door. Green eyes were fixed on the door and when it opened just slightly, Hiccup jumped a little out of nervousness. âCan I keep him?!â
Jack refused to let himself get moved by the kittenâs cuteness and fuziness. He was stronger than that. He casted only a simple glance to him before his attention was back on Hiccup.
"I know that." he shrugged. "But he doesnât need you especially, you know you have to go for weeks or months sometimes and he wouldnât stay alone during this time. Thatâs why pets are for humans Hiccup." He felt somehow stupid to explain that as it was such logic, but the autumn spiritâs soft spot for animals was a problem.
"But JackâŠ!" he tried, holding the kitten up a little higher which caused her to let out a surprised âMeow?â "He needs meâŠheâs injured, see?" he asked, looking down at its front paw which got bandaged by him. Then he sighed and brought him back into his arms. His fingers trailed along the soft black fur which seemed to remind him of something. It was as if he was flying with Jack. Even though he would enjoy it actually it was something that felt wrong, something that made him feal weary and uneasy. But he kept on anyway. He knew that Jack was right. But how could he leave the kitten? Sure, it would be able to survive without him, it wasnât a bad injury after all, but still⊠It was time to use something Jack always tried on him but hadnât worked most of the time. He himself had never intentionally given him that look so he didnât know if it would work. But he let his head drop down a little and his eyes gave Jack a pleading look from below.
Jack refused to take the cat in his hands. He couldn't do that. He couldn't let himself be moved by Hiccup's shenanigans. He had to admit, the thing was cute. And indeed, wounded. Jack could feel his resolve melt. Though he almost tumbled with a step back when Hiccup raised his eyes to him again. He wasn't really doing what he thought he was doing? "Are you seriously giving me the puppy eyes there?" he asked dumbfounded. It was a premiere for Hiccup, and Jack still couldn't decide if it was ridiculous on him or frighteningly adorable.
Newcomer- [ closed RP]
Hiccup laughed. He was grateful for Jackâs concern, but it made him a little worried too. Jack was such an uncontrollable soul, what ideas would he come up with and make him involved into?
Of course he chose a job he was good at, but he would surely have prefered one where he could be outside more. He estinguished the fire and cleaned the table, catching his bag and he was ready to go, securing the strap on his shoulder. "Iâm right behind you." he smiled.
Jack watched how Hiccup got ready to leave and he shifted his weight from one foot ot the other, really eager about all of this. âThis time I wonât break your prosthetic, promise.â he said as he remembered how the last walk into the forest had turned out. He still felt bad for it but Hiccup had shown him his new leg with the dragon on it. It was a lot cooler! He adjusted his satchel around his shoulder as well, smiling widely at Hiccup. âOkay, follow me!â he said eagerly, marching towards the trees where they would find what they were hoping for. The closer he got to the forest, the more nervous became all of a sudden, though. It was weird. he had been alone with Hiccup in the forge, but he felt different about the forest. He swallowed. How stupid of him! There was absolutely no difference there!
Hiccup flinched. Oh it has been a so embarrassing moment. He had been so stupid to break his leg like that. But it brought back another thought: how Jack took him so easily in his arms then and his face heated up. He rubbed the back of his neck and cleared his throat. "Don't talk about it..." He felt so stupid for having to go to such extents but there was no way he was going to eat dirt again in front of Jack. The weather was nice, and the sun still high, it was a great moment to walk outside.
Autumn's chill
Sure Jack was disappointed, and maybe a little sad. He didnât know what he had expected but the idea of Hiccup slowly falling asleep against him or in his arms crossed his mind. Was he a hopeless romantic? He watched so many couple do that on benches or so⊠But it was certainly going to fast, the hope died in his heart as soon at his blossomed, and he regained a clear mind. He wasnât sure he could deal with so much feelings anyway. It was surely too early for him too.
With Hiccup again his arm he relaxed again. "Well donât fall asleep on me then." he warned, even though he wouldnât mind the fact.
He felt as if he had said something bad, but he wasnât competely sure. It was hard to figure out what was okay to say and what he should better keep for himself. Was this something he would learn with time? He hoped so. To make up for his presumable mistake he leant a little further against Jack, not sure if he was doing it right or if he made Jack uncomfortable with his gestures. Maybe he should stop doing anything. "Iâll try, but you are comfortable." he said and immediately bit his tongue. So much for stop doing anything. Stop talking would be the most important priority.
Jack dared not to move in case Hiccup would stop what he was doing just now. "Really?" he smiled. "Nobody ever told me that." Not that many people leant on him before. But Hiccup was the most important anyway. This was enough to make him ridiculously happy.

8. My muse is a dragon and yours is the knight sent to slay them. Hijack Colonial AU
Brown eyes narrowed and a huff through the nose was the dragonâs reaction to seeing the knight they had sent to sleigh him. Cautiously he took a step back, claw-like hands coming up in defence, ready to hit the shortsword out of his hands. âHelp me!â he heard the cries behind him and again he roared, refusing to let any hope come up in his prisonerâs heart. âIâll take you down you monster!â the knight with the green eyes yelled at him, taking another step closer. Monster? Pah, who was the one pointing a sword at him? He gritted his teeth, taking a step back whenever the knight took one towards him. But at some point his back hit the wall, his prisoner right next to him. âHelp me, Sir Hiccup!â the prisoner cried out once more and his eyes fell on the little girl with brown hair and brown eyes, trying to get away from him. His claws closed around her upper arm. But this action was enough for the knight to make attack. And before the mighty dragon knew it the sword hit him in the side. A loud, painful cry emitted from the back of his throat, claws pressed onto the spot before he fell against the wall, slowly sliding to the ground where he remained, deadly injured and left to die. And then â before he could do anything against it â two short and thin arms got wrapped around his neck, a joyful giggle coming from the little girl. âSorry that you had to die, Jack!â Mary apologized, but Jack could tell she wasnât sorry at all. Playfully he groaned again, opened his eyes. âI am not Jack. I am the well-known and feared Seadragon that can eat you with a single bite!â Without a warning his hands reached up to his sisterâs side, tickling her until she was laughing so hard that she fell to the ground. Only then he let go of her. His eyes wandered up to Hiccup. âNext time you wonât get away that easily, mighty dragon slayer.â
Hiccupâs hands came to his hips, after the sword-now-turned-tree-branch fell on the floor. "Iâm waiting for your revenge, but for now youâre dead, so dead dragons donât speak, even less engage in tickle fights." he smiled, narrowing his eyes playfully. You have so little to do to entertain Mary. And she couldnât wait until the game was ended to go to her brother to hug him and apologise. At first Hiccup was wary to participate in the siblingsâ games but he was starting to get involved in it more and more. He crouched next to the two, sporting a knowing smile. "I may have an idea for next time."
"The game ended the moment Mary threw her arm around me." he pointed out and stick out his tongue before giving Hiccup a cocky grin. "Right Mary? Itâs your fault." he teased and poked his sister into the side. The girl shook her head, giggling at the contact. "Itâs always your fault, Jack." she said and smiled widely. Both their heads shot up curiously at Hiccupâs words, staring at the auburn haired boy. âWhat kind of idea?â they both asked curiously.
Hiccup turned his head to the little girl specifically. "I won't tell you, it would be less fun otherwise."

Autumn's chill
Jackâs smile widened and he let the other play with his fingers willingly.
Hiccup was feeling excited. Well, he was too, a whole bunch. "Thatâs not a problem! You could sleep if you wanted! I donât mind!" he squeezed the hand joined with his a little more. "Iâm really tired at the end of winter too, that would be the only moment I sleep anyway." The two spirits were still face to face on the bed, and Jack, lips in a thin line thought that was where the awkward came from. If he could just sit to his side or have him in his arms like earlier⊠it would be better. He distangled his fingers from the otherâs and moved back, so he had his back on the wall again. "Care to come thereâŠ?" he asked, with a smile and still a tinge of embarassment in his eyes.
"I donât think I could sleep with someone around." he admitted a little too fast. He hoped he didnât sound too blunt. It was just that he wasnât used to it that someone besides mice, foxes or squirrels (or other animals) saw how he slept. It would be different and weird with Jack around, right? Before it could get awkward he quickly avoided Jackâs gaze. âWe are probably tired because we worked so hardâŠand when itâs over we need time to recharge.â he muttered, about to play with Jackâs fingers again when he pulled them awayy. He would have internally freaked out now if Jack wouldnât have offered him something like this. He hesitated for a moment before he shook his head. He didnât care. He liked this position a lot, even though he wouldnât say it out loud. Quietly he shifted closer until he sat next to Jack, leaning a little against his arm.
Sure Jack was disappointed, and maybe a little sad. He didn't know what he had expected but the idea of Hiccup slowly falling asleep against him or in his arms crossed his mind. Oh no. Nonononononononononnononononononononononono! He knew that expression! He knew what was coming when Jack rubbed his temples! No, no, no, nononono- Hiccup, pull yourself together, he scolded himself. âBut JackâŠ!â he started, moving the kitten in his arms so that Jack could see it better. The kitten itself was now staring at Jack, curiously and supiciously just like before. âLook at him! He needs me! And why not, I mean, Iâll outlive him anyways!â It would be different if Hiccup would die soon, then he wouldnât make the animal suffer about his loss. "Pleaaaaase? After being properly streched Hiccup got up too.
"Youâre not the kind of person who could stay indoors all day, are you?" he said a crooked smile and raised eyebrow. Of course it seemed like an understatement, seeing how lively the other boy was, only the fact that he disliked wearing shoes was a hint. "I like that, I mean," he added, gesturing to the forge equipment and tools, "but sometimes I wish I could work in the open too. The window isnât enough to give all the fresh air I need sometimes." he shrugged and giggled after that. He extinguished the fire and cleaned the table while Jack was putting the chair back, and it seemed everything was in order and he could call it a day. If people needed him theyâll have to wait for tomorrow, he had important stuff to do now.
"I could neeever stay inside all day! Not even with a big window like this one." he stated, grumpily slipping back into his boots that he had taken off earlier. Those stupid things. But if they went into the forest he really should wear them. He listened to what Hiccup told him about his work and smiled. âWell, you are good at what you do. And Iâll make sure you get as much fresh air as possible from now on.â Jack beamed a smile at him. âI am so curious about the traps.â
Hiccup laughed. He was grateful for Jack's concern, but it made him a little worried too. Jack was such an uncontrollable soul, what ideas would he come up with and make him involved into? Quickly he got to his feet, the cat not minding at all as long as Hiccup kept on petting it, and walked towards the door. Green eyes were fixed on the door and when it opened just slightly, Hiccup jumped a little out of nervousness. âCan I keep him?!â
What theâŠ? Jack kinda got used now to be welcomed by strange sights when he entered Hiccupâs little lair every time, and even him trying to explain how it would be great to keep a porcupine or baby bear oh just for the winter Jack itâs so cold outside look at them theyâre just going to hibernate they wonât be a bother and grant him with some side glares like youâre to blame you brought this on yourself. In the end he always managed to talk him out of it and how it wasnât a good idea. Well it was Hiccupâs place, he could do what he wanted basically, but now it had became Jackâs place a little also so maybe he wasnât too keen to share his boyfriendâs bed with wild animals, or take the risk to step on a porcupine or any other family of rodents covering the ground, could you blame him? But this time the autumn spirit was all jumpy and nervous, and what was that, was it a⊠kitten? No way Hiccup brought back a kitten. He needed to built an animal shelter and change his job in spirit of all animals in distress. Jackâs shoulders slumped and he stroked his temples, closing his eyes. "Hiccup youâre a spirit, you canât keep a kitten."
Autumn's chill
Jackâs eyes widened slightly. He never knew of that. Suddenly the vision of a hibernating Hiccup overwhelmed him and he couldnât chase it away. The small body of the autumn spirit, all curled up in his bed among leaves and dried fruits, maybe surrounded by another animals which decided the shelter and emanating warmth were welcome and convenientâŠ
It was too much. He had to sneak on that some year. Nothing would be okay until he was granted with witnessing such a thing. Maybe he spaced out for some time but when he realised, there was a smile on his face and he almost stammered. "So, isnât it uh⊠isnât it difficult for you to stay awake now?" Being close to the other was he wanted most, but maybe Hiccupâs well-being was battling for the first place also.
Hiccup waited for a reaction, but nothing was coming. His eyebrows furrowed a little and he tilted his head, trying to find out what Jack was thinking about it. Did he look like a freak now? WellâŠeven more like a freak? It was just that he was always feeling so tired after autumn that he used the time to sleep. A little taken aback now he started to play with Jackâs fingers again, finding them not too soothingly this time. But when he saw the smile appearing on the otherâs lips his heart skipped a beat and he stopped playing around and a sheepish smile made its way on his own lips. He shook his head. âNot reallyâŠI am too excited right now to feel tired.â he explained and quickly cleared his throat. Okay, this was too embarassing to admit. Be careful what you say, he scolded himself. âA-and well, I mean I am not sleeping every winter, or sometimes I wake up before winter is over andâŠyeah. Itâs just a habit, I guess.â
Jack's smile widened and he let the other play with his fingers willingly. Hiccup was feeling excited. Well, he was too, a whole bunch. "That's not a problem! You could sleep if you wanted! I don't mind!" he squeezed the hand joined with his a little more. "I'm really tired at the end of winter too, that would be the only moment I sleep anyway." The two spirits were still face to face on the bed, and Jack, lips in a thin line thought that was where the awkward came from. If he could just sit to his side or have him in his arms like earlier... it would be better. He distangled his fingers from the other's and moved back, so he had his back on the wall again. "Care to come there...?" he asked, with a smile and still a tinge of embarassment in his eyes.

"Wow, Hiccup, thatâs deep" Jackson snorted, wrapping his arm a little tighter around Hiccupâs shoulder to keep himself up. Saying he was a little drunk was probably understated. One could say about Burgess whatever they wanted, that it was small, that most of the people were uneducated but never someone said their festivities were boring. A lot of food, singing and â of course â drinking. Jack had never been one who could handle too much alcohol, but he had never been one to say no to a challenge either. So what was he supposed to do when the butcherâs son called him âas hard-drinking as a six-year-old girlâ? There had been only one answer and one option left! Sadly he couldnât really celebrate his success over the butcherâs son anymore, considering that he was as steady on his feet as a scarecrow in heavy winds. Good that he had Hiccup who had wrapped his arm around his waist and had placed one of the his arms over his slim shoulders to guide him home. Even though Jackâs senses were dulled he noticed Hiccupâs fingers digging slightly into his sides as the blacksmithâs grip tightened a little, probably unconciously. Also he could hear him gulp before he repeated the question, just a little slower. Jackson scowled for a second before he internally told his feet to stop, what they did a little delayed. He stumbled a little when he came to a sudden halt, causing Hiccup to stumble as well. But thanks to the auburn haired boyâs coordination they both managed it to keep their feet on the ground instead of kissing it. With his slightly glazed eyes he looked at the younger male, trying to bring the words he wanted to say into the correct order. "If that would be hones- urgh, no, true. I mean true," he corrected himself, trying not to slur too much. "If no one would care, I wouldâŠkiss you in front of everyone." He took a deep breath, tried to clear his head with the fresh air, knowing it was important right now. "I wouldâŠ" he stopped again, feeling as if his tongue was twisted, but he slowly but surely got a hold of it. All he had to do was talking a little slower. "I would hold your hand while walking through the village. And Iâd hold you in my arms whenever I feel like it." He smiled at Hiccup, trying to make out his features in the darkness. "I wouldâŠI would tell you that I love you in front of whoever is around." Jackson stopped himself at that, brown eyes widening a little. "I would shout it from the top of my lungs for everyone to know!" he continued, voice rising with every word he spoke. And before Jack knew it he took a deep breath. "I LOVE YO-" And then a freckled hand fiercely covered his mouth, a flustered Hiccup hissing at him, while a few men who were still celebrating at the market place started to laugh in the distance, sounding just as drunk as Jack. "Preach it!" they cheered.
It had looked like a nice idea on the moment. Even if he kinda felt like he was taking advantage of the poor boy. Every time they were drinking things happened. Not bad things, per se. But still⊠things. Though this time Jack had had really too much. When the other times they had been equally intoxicated, now Hiccup was pretty clear-headed, he only drank one tankard. But at this precise moment with his hand on Jackâs mouth, his eyes opened wide and his heart racing one mile a minute he started to have second thoughts about it. Oh, it was nice, really really nice to have heard all this from the one he was sure he held sweet affection for but shouting those words, like this? What more, it was the first time Jackson actually said them.Â
Hiccup had gone through multiple colors, he reddened, then paled, and waited with bated breath to be sure no one was coming to see who had screamed. Theyâd would be in perfect trouble if someone knew. (even if those people were drunk, you could never know what they would remember. ) When he was sure no one was coming he lowered his hand and let go of a breath. "Not sure this was wise to ask such a thingâŠ" he said threading one hand in his hair, before taking Jackâs hand and forcefully dragged him to his house -with the boy tripping once or twice-, once inside and the door closed, they were in the dark and alone. Hiccup hesitated just one second, and decided to go. He pushed Jack back against the door and kissed him full on the mouth.Â
Jack had his eyebrows furrowed and eyes fixed on Hiccup while he was pressing his freckled hand on his mouth. He continued to babble, muffled because of the hand, though. He complained about that he wanted to show his love and Hiccup just kept him quiet! No fair! He breathed out when Hiccup lowered his hand. âHey itâs hard to breath like that.â he stated, his voice still not as clear as usual. But the blacksmith didnât even react but dragged him off. âHey!â he cried out, stumbled behind Hiccup. "Are you mad? Do I get grounded? Nooo, I want my freedom" he whined, thinking that Hiccup would scold him for whatever he had done wrong. But then he got surprised for sure. Hiccup pressed him against the door, kissed him even! He giggled like a fourteen year old girl before he returned the kiss, turning it into a passionate one. One could never have enough of a Hiccup!
Hiccup got surprised by the enthusiasm of Jackâs kiss and he opened his eyes in surprise, when the otherâs tongue was already in his mouth. His hands clenched in the fabric of his shirt and he let go of a surprised moan. Even if this felt wonderful he decided to break the kiss, breathing a little hard and flustered. He wasnât going to take advantage of Jackâs cloudy state of mind. "You, big boy, I think you need to go to bed."
Jack almost fell forward when Hiccup broke the kiss, blinking in surprise and confusion, eyebrows knitted. "Noo, I donât want to go to bed, I want to kiss." he whined, crossing his arms in front of his chest like a pouting boy. "I wonât go to bed, itâs not late enough! I want to stay up an hour longer and no one can make me go to bed."
Hiccup sighed. What was Jack doing? He acted like a spoiled child and he had no skills with that kind of thing. He was going to have to handle this wisely. Coercing him gently. His own hands moved on his hips. "Okay then, what about I give you another kiss if you lay down in bed?" he proposed, feeling his ears warm up doing so but what? He would lie saying he didnât like it.
Jacksonâs eyes lit up and he gave Hiccup an expectant expression before grabbing the smaller teenâs hand and pulled him into his bedroom full of anticipation. He sat down and threw his arms into the air. âI am in bed! Where is my kiss? You are no liar are you?â he asked suspiciously, raising an eyebrow.
Hiccup was abruply dragged but managed to follow nevertheless. Being dragged in Jackâs bedroom, letâs not linger too long on that. When the other boy was sitting on the bed, he crossed his arms. âNo youâre not. Go under the covers. Donât make me tuck you in.â he said cocking one eyebrow himself. It was really like dealing with a child.
Jack slowly, reeeeeaaaaaally slowly, raised an eyebrow at Hiccup, brought up his hands in front of his chest and crossed them there, giving Hiccup a look full of disapproval. âNo Hiccup, I wonât go under the covers before I got my kiss. You said when I am in bed youâll give me a kiss. And I deserve that kiss now because I am in bed.â He looked down for a second, just to check, then looked back up to Hiccup and raised his eyebrow even higher which gave him a rather cocky appearance. "Yes, I am."
As much as he wanted to comply, how it would be lying to say he didnât want to kiss the other again, right now -why did he have to make it last so much damnit- Hiccup was also really stubborn. Maybe too much for his own good sometimes. "Youâre on your bed, not in it." he stated, imperturbable.
"You mean man!" he cried out, childishly squirming and slipping under the covers, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "You outsmarted me!" he whined, grumbling all along.
"Thatâs how it is Jack." Hiccup said, triumphantly, uncrossing his arms, slowly melting in front of the view of Jack gliding under the covers and pouting like a child in bed. Carefully he took a few steps to the bed and sat down, hands on his lap. Suddenly the fact of being on Jackâs bed and in his room downing on him. (even if he shared the place with his sister but well.) "Good, good, you behaved well."
Attentive brown eyes followed Hiccupâs movements, glistening with anticipation when the other sat down on his bed. âI know, I know!â he said, impatiently. He opened his arms as if he was about to receive something. âAnd now I want my reward, you meanie.â
Hiccup played with a fold in the cover for some time, his heart rate suddenly increasing. Well he had started that. And he had wanted it, after all. And still did. He pushed Jack gently down, so he was lying -it was the purpose to all this to put him in bed right? He had promised his mother (damn Hiccup why are you thinking about Jackâs mother now of all times?)- and before he could change his mind dove down and locked his lips with Jack's, causing an unexpected little sound of contentement to escape from the back of his throat.
Jackson just let it happen, let Hiccup push him down, hungry for the kiss that waited for him. His eyes lit up and he immediately wrapped his arms around Hiccupâs neck, returning the otherâs kiss with a silent sigh. But he didnât let go of Hiccup. Instead he tightened his grip and deepened the kiss as well. Only after that he let go. âMhhâŠyou shall be forgiven.â he stated dreamily.
Kisses with Jack were always like that. Not that they shared many yet, but every time he was wavering between restrain and losing himself completely into it. He didnât want to regret anything he would do with a drunk Jack anyway, so he tried his best to keep control of himself. Awkwardly resting on his elbows, eyes still closed, and his neck locked in a strong grip, his hand moved just a bit to rest on Jackâs neck and collarbone, nearly feeling his pulse. His own heart was beating like crazy and in this position he was sure all blood had traveled to his face. And then it was finished. The sounds that came out of his mouth were nearly unintelligible at first but he managed to regain control over his tongue again. "I hope so. You are the ill-behaving child here."
"Who are you calling a child? I am older than you!" he pointed out, already going back to his pouting attitute towards the other. Sure, he wasnât the child here. "Itâs not all about age, Jack." Hiccup commented, sighing. He sat back again. "Because youâre drunk and your mother asked me to put you in bed." Jack snorted. âNahh, I wouldnât call that drunk, Hiccup! I can deal with alcohol!â At least that was what Jack was absolutely convinced of! "Of course you can." Hiccup tempered softly. Jack was now a living proof it was a blatant lie, but whatever. "Why do I have to sleep again?" he asked, making himself comfortable while searching for Hiccupâs hand. He just wanted to hold his hand and spend more time with Hiccup! He couldnât do that in his sleep! "Can't you sleep in my bed? Mary and I share all the time!"
Hiccup let the other take his hand. He was thinking about sharing the bed too when Jack voiced it. Maybe he didnât have to sleep. She didnât talk about sleep, just to put him in bed then maybe they could stay like this for a little longer until the woman came back surely to tuck her other sleeping child in. Until then, it was only the two of them. Though Jackâs proposal made him heat-up. "Share?!" As far as the idea was appealing he wasnât sure if him and Jack together was comparable to siblings sharing a bed. "Iâm not sure if itâs a good ideaâŠ" he cleared his throat. " But I can stay here with you for a little while."
A disappointed look made its way on Jackâs face. âOh, I hoped I could snuggle with you. Thatâs a pity. I need a larger bed!â he giggled, turning a little in his bed, still holding on to Hiccupâs hand and kissed it before he played with the otherâs fingers. Now that he was lying in bed everything seemed to make him a little dizzy. So he grimaced and squinted his eyes, so that he could see Hiccup properly. Everything was kind ofâŠstirring.
The other boy play with his hand was oddly calming. Hiccup bit his lips at the next words though, feeling a pang in his chest at the idea of missing something here. The thought was so appealing. It took a few more seconds for him to make up his mind. "Make room." he commanded, already moving one of his legs to the top of the bed. (mind you, it was the bad one.)
Jackâs face lit up and he shifted so that he was lying there with his back pressed against the wall while looking at Hiccup with anticipation. âThis is like the best day ever!â he concluded happily, opening his arms for Hiccup to lie in.
Hiccup raised his second leg and settled on top of the covers, turning his body so he was facing the other boy, then placing his arm nonchalantly on him. The bed wasnât that wide for two grown-up boys. Now that he was lying, he could feel the few he had to drink was affecting him too. His head was pleasantly buzzing, his body relaxed. "Give me a little bit of pillow." he demanded, pulling on it a little so his head could rest.
Jack, who had shut his eyes for a few seconds, opened them again, giving Hiccup a grin, slowly stretching his arm on the spot where the otherâs head would probably rest. âHere you go.â he said, looking from Hiccup to his arm, as if to say the other he should use it as his pillow. Wasnât he a clever boy?
Hiccup rolled his eyes at that, but complied nevertheless, a small smile on his lips. He nestled his head in the crook of Jackâs arm. Their position was really intimate now, like lovers, and the young man gulped. Even if he was on top of the covers and Jack under them he could still feel his warmth pretty well. His free arm hugged him tighter.
Happily Jack immediately wrapped his arm around Hiccup when he laid down. âMost comfortable pillow I amâŠ!â he whispered happily as he nuzzled Hiccupâs cheek with his nose. It could be like this every night! Have a lot to eat, have fun with people in the village, drink something and then end up cuddling in bed with each other. Perfect day!
"Pff, not sure about that, but whatever, itâll do." Hiccup commented, mentally thinking that he wouldnât trade this particular pillow for the most comfortable soft-feather one in the world. He moved forward to place a kiss on his nose, and stayed in a way that their faces were close enough to feel each otherâs breaths ticking their skin. Oh how he wanted to stay like this forever.
"Donât doubt my comfy-ness mortalâŠ" Jack muttered, rubbing his nose against the other, keeping on nuzzling him unintentionally. Now that he was in bed, tucked in and surrounded by Hiccupâs warmth he just wanted to lie down and sleep like this. Also his head was spinning and he just wanted to enjoy the weird and funny feeling in Hiccupâs presence. He was pretty sure that Hiccup was the general cause of it. So he fought his other arm free that was still captured under the blanket and wrapped it around the other figure, snuggling up. "Love youâŠ" he sighed silently, about to doze off.
Hiccup just make a contented hmm sound and closed in eyes, relaxing in the intimacy and warmth. It was calm for a moment before he heard those words again, and this time not yelled in a crazy drunk-induced state but in a small and sincere voice. His eyes snapped open, heart missing a few beats before it was running again in a frenzy. He stayed like that in the silence trying to calm himself down, worrying his lower lip between his teeth. Why was this so difficult. He knew perfectly well what he felt. Still he was unable to voice it. Jack could. The fact he had too much to drink changed nothing. He heard Jack taking longer and more even breaths, he must have fallen asleep finally. He hadnât planned to end up there, all snuggled up in bed when he had brought Jack home that night. He sighed, his chest still mercilessly clenched by an invisible force, the feeling completly overpowering him. Hugging the boy closer so he could hide his face under his chin he finally let go of the words for the first time. "I love you." Too bad Jackson wouldnât be able to hear them. Maybe it was the reason the confession was easier to utter.
