—- Sekhmet reborn as Hathor

Here it goes again...
I close my eyes and feel that They are near. They are waiting. They will not come closer --will not force Themselves upon me -- unless I open myself to Them. So I do.
You are Ours. Remember, you are always Ours.
Once I let Them in, I see that They have come together as one. As the Great Mother, the One Whose presence blots out all other thought.
You are Ours. You have always been Ours. You will always be Ours.
Their voices come together, an earth-shaking baritone and a snarling soprano rolled into one song.
Little Devourer, you are Ours.
They are too massive to take in at once. Seeing Them in snapshots is all my mortal mind can do. An outstretched paw with hooked claws as long as my arm. A gleaming, grinning mouth full of tusks. The rasping slither of a crocodile tail. A blinding-bright solar disc nestled between cow horns.
You. Are. Ours.
I am Theirs.
You are Ours.
I am Theirs.
“Sekhmet can also form the composite Sekhmet-Hathor. The foundations of a temple to Sekhmet-Hathor were found in Kom el-Hisn in western Delta. It probably dates to the New Kingdom or later. Two statues of Rameses II were found, dedicated to “Sekhmet-Hathor Mistress of Imu”.[50] The order of the names may be important. Sekhmet-Hathor may refer to Sekhmet with a gentler nature whilst Hathor-Sekhmet may imply Hathor as Sekhmet and a more aggressive aspect. New Kingdom and Greco-Roman inscriptions reinforce the association of Hathor and Sekhmet. Both were considered responsible for the arrival of the inundation, the renewal of universal cycles and the king’s power and legitimacy. Offerings considered suitable for Sekhmet were similar to those offered to Hathor; geese, antelope, beer, wine, sistra and sceptres. Sekhmet can also be viewed as the angry aspect of Mut. She is also paired with Bastet who can be seen as the pacified aspect of Sekhmet.”
