Wow Jack is having a real normal one. Everyone else is having all these feelings about Daniel's "death" and Jack is so totally fine and cool with it. He is just very chill.

Okay but imagine you are thousands of years old, a certified ruthless badass baddie. You are so intrigued by this one particular human's DNA and potential that you change into your sluttiest outfit, go into full seductress mode to lure him to the darkside, only for that human to not only be so utterly unaffected and unimpressed by your efforts, he even threatens to destroy you if you gave him any kind of power. I'd never recover.

Okay, but, I'm still thinking about Meridian... THE LOOK ON JACK'S FACE when Daniel says he's leaving because "I think I can do more this way." Jack knows Daniel. He knows that Daniel doesn't believe he's done enough for the universe already. Of course Daniel is leaving. The Daniel that Jack knows (and loves) would only choose to leave if he thought he could "do more" somewhere else. And Jack has to accept this. He has no choice. He can't stop Daniel from leaving. To try and stop Daniel from "doing more" would run against the very nature of the universe.
