Who would expect an outbreak of "explosive" diarrhea due to cyclospora to be headline news in the United States? In this post I share news from KFF and review the "underlying significant medical conditions" that make us worry about acute infections like these.
I reviewed this post I wrote 6 yearsago. What a difference. We have outbreaks of measles and cyclospora now which, although serious, do not impact daily life for most of us. But any day could change that. We learned some lessions during COVID-19 which hopefully will help get us through the next pandemic even better. Or will it?
