2020/02/08 - Tétouan

Northern Morocco isn’t anything close to what people imagine Morocco is like. The mountains and scenery here is incredible. This is just one of the amazing views in Tétouan, taken from the university campus.

02/02/2020 - Felt Cute

Got to experience a hammam finally, not sure if I’ll go again but I’m glad to say I did it. Also treated myself to some eyelashes and nails, so was feeling myself a little! Took a selfie to commemorate the rare occasion 😜😂

2020/01/21 - 2020/01/23 - Fes, Morocco

The little time I spent in the city of Fes was incredible. Fes is chaotic and busy, and it is certainly easy to get lost in the thousands of streets of the medina. But it is beautiful in its chaos, and if you allow yourself to get lost then there are many amazing things you can discover. There are markets and stalls there for every lover of shopping, and amazing tanneries and mosques for those who love sightseeing. Fes’ people are always willing to help tourists who are lost, but be careful if you’re approached by someone wanting to show you the way; they often want to be paid for their assistance!

2020/01/11 - Chefchaouen, Morocco

I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful town today. Chefchaouen is a peaceful, artsy, vibrant town about an hour away from my home in Tetouan. My friend and I spent all day there today, exploring the town, taking in the amazing things to see, spending too much money in the shops and enjoying some local food. A day there definitely wasn’t enough and I know that Chefchaouen will be somewhere I frequent during my time in Morocco.

2020/01/04 - Tetouan Medina

My first weekend in Morocco has been an eventful one. After a successful first week at work, I went exploring the city in the hopes of finding the old medina. Tetouan is an incredible city with some beautiful buildings and things to see... but the medina was so hard to find! Thankfully, some friendly locals helped me to discover it. They showed me around the medina a little, and some of the mosques and saunas. They also showed me where the locals dye the fabrics and skins to sell (seen in the photos). It would have been so easy to get lost through all the narrow streets, but I didn’t have enough time for that today. Next time I visit I will have to embrace the feeling of getting lost. That’s when you discover the hidden gems.

Tetouan, Morocco

Hello all! My name is Abby and I’m 23, from the U.K. I’ll be moving to Tetouan, Morocco on January 1st to teach English out there for 5 months!

I don’t know a lot about Tetouan, Morocco or Moroccan culture. I’m doing my own research online so that I know what to expect, but I’d love to talk to some people who already live in Tetouan or Morocco to learn more. I’d also love to make some friends before I get there, it would help to make the whole transition a lot easier!

With 2019 coming to an end and Spotify releasing their wrapped, I found out who my top artist was this decade. I’d never have expected it to be anyone else. Though I find it hard to listen to you these days, Jjong, you’ll always hold the biggest piece of my heart. Not a day goes by where I don’t think about you and miss you. I hope wherever you are is treating you better than this world ever could.

18/10/19 ; Night out with my girls in the U.K.!

One of them is going back up North so won’t be able to see her, celebrated with a final night out!

I’m probably off to live in Thailand after Christmas also! Will definitely have to see these guys again before I go.

I’ve been back in the U.K. for 2 days now and my little sister decided to take me out for dinner and a drink. Surprising, since she’s never done that before 😂

My friend took me to this wonderful restaurant the night before I left. Fairy lights everywhere, trees and leaves growing up into the ceiling, and a moon hanging outside. With me leaving soon, a name like “지금, 보고 싶다” is very fitting.

I said goodbye to these kids before I leave Korea. Honestly it was heartbreaking 😭 these kids are so intelligent and funny and they honestly made my year. Couldn’t have asked for better students.
