Honestly, I think City Council of Darkness works so well comedically because Madelaine and LaVonte (until he gave up in the finale in favor of embracing the madness) are the only two members of the Coterie that are actually attempting to play VTM.

Vesper is playing DnD 5e, Darkness Man is playing a hyperviolent version of Masks: The Next Generation, Zaeth is doing all the sidequests in a video game out of order, and HJ is just vamping during a standup set while actively getting tomatoes pelted at him.

It’s so funny that Darkness Man keeps saying, “We don’t need to tell people everything.” But just a season earlier Maxwell would just straight up tell people everything. Very funny of Murph. His reasoning in both cases is solid and consistent but it’s still funny to me that he plays the most adamant characters for/against telling the truth.

For those who don't know: Ikumi Nakamura is the woman who was senior artist on Bayonetta, and designed the titular character along with Hideki Kamiya. Their greatest moment of bonding was over their insistence that Bayonetta keep her glasses on at all times. Nakamura cannot go to horny jail. She is the warden.
