Riddles are a big part of Star's Fall, so this week I'll be posting a rebus puzzle each day that hints towards an important theme or event in the book. Here's day 1!

ARC Readers Wanted!
I am looking for ARC reader's to read my new book Star's Fall. More info below!!!
Title: Starâs Fall
Word Count: 91,000
Blurb:
Stars arenât meant to fall. They may shoot across the sky, trailing flecks of silver magic in their wake, but they donât fall. Astraea, a princess born of stardust and night, canât fall.
Falling means that her people are left in darkness. It means that her general will fight Prince Griffin alone, with no Dark Heir to shield him from the princeâs light magic. It means another statue added to the memorial garden and another heir to mourn.
Astraea canât fall, but she canât let her family die, either.
After a disastrous battle, the dark truth behind the war and the heirâs role in it is revealed. Now they must work together to find seven ancient relics before the king and queen find them. With monsters, evil knights, and immortal beings lurking around every corner, theyâll need to trust each other, and themselves, if they want to survive long enough to claim their thrones.
Astraea has always fought for her people. She would have died for them. But now, she must do something harder. She will live for them - until Starâs fall.
Release Date: August 9, 2026

They caught me singing at my funeral, and dancing to my dirge,
They caught me heckling my eulogy, and joy-riding my hearse.
They caught me spray-painting my tomb stone and teasing the mortician,
They caught me at all sorts of mischief, in grand Christian tradition.
They scolded me, I put my face into my hands to hide
The smiles and the giggles I couldnât keep inside.
They didnât want to hear the joke that I had learned so well,
That death has no dominion: my God has rattled hell.

The one thing Andor did that had me cackling is showing how utterly ridiculous Bail Organa is. Like Luthen has 8000 secret identities and Mon Mothma is tweaking out all the time and meanwhile Bail is rolling up with C3PO and R2D2 and his multiple Jedi contacts and his force sensitive daughter and his rebel cell that keeps blowing up star destroyers and literally no one in the empire ever does anything about it I love him
Columbo
I've been watching a lot of Columbo recently, and you know what I've noticed? This man has no reason to do half the things he does.
Find suspects at their home, place of employment, while out shopping? He's done it. Get people who witnessed the murderer doing sketchy stuff to dress up and pretend to be wait staff at a restaurant? Done that, too. Make a plan with a literal mob boss to make the murderer think that they're going to be killed unless they confess to the murder? Happened in the same episode that the wait staff thing did.
This man isn't just in it for justice. No. He likes the thrill of the hunt, the psychological torture he can put his suspects through. He's "one more thing"-ing these murderers to a psychological breakdown.
The only episode I've seen where he doesn't do this? When his nephew's new bride is kidnapped. And you can tell Columbo isn't having any fun. But when there's a murder and he's not personally involved? Oh, it's time to play.
Reading Sherlock Holmes and there are so many scenes where Holmes is just at the foot of Watsonâs bed, wide awake at a questionable hour like, âHello, my dear Watson! I have studied bicycles all night!â What a little cryptid.
this is my new obsession and y'all have to deal with it!! (if y'all want to see a character-specific post or just more of a certain character lmk and i'll do it! i am for the people.)
They all landed on very different parts of the planet less than 24 hours ago and their planned rendezvous isnât for another 72 hours
I donât want to hear any writing advice from Stephen king not because I think there would be no value in it but because whatever works for Stephen king is between him and god and that demon he made a pact with that lets him write 3000 words in one sitting daily.
Titus: We have Sato, and someone called âJabbaâ.
Kallus: EZRA BRIDGER?!
Story Idea: A minion for a an evil Overlord from a High Fantasy Real and a Goon working for Prohibition-Era Mafia Gangster got transported into each other's worlds.
They quickly acclimated to their respective situations and started serving their new bosses with gutso!
Gangster Boss: Dat Rat Fink double-crossed me! ME! Why I oughta...
Minion: Prithee, milord, may I suggest boiling him in oil for this transgression?
Gangster Boss: Yer a sick fuck, Ferdinand. Love da way ya think!
Goon: 'ey boss, I notice dat de Hero of Light and Providence gets supplies in dem towns on da way to yer liar on the regular. You want me to go over dere to dem shops and uh *winks and clicks tongue* convince them to close up shop?
Overlord, embers gleaming inside his dark helm: ....make it so, Robert.
the real reason that it took multiple years for Obi-Wan's ghost to direct Luke to Dagobah for further training with Yoda was that Yoda failed to actually tell Obi-Wan where he was planning to go into hiding when they parted at the end of RotS, so Obi-Wan had to spend about a year tracking Yoda down in the Force so he could ask, and then convince Yoda to actually tell him what planet he's on
this takes a while, because it turns out that Yoda is reluctant to admit that he doesn't actually know the name of the planet he's hiding on, because he let the Force guide him to a suitable place for his exile and didn't think to double check the coordinates he entered
once Obi-Wan gets over the impulse to tear out his ghostly hair, he resolves to just check the navigational computer in Yoda's ship to find the coordinates
unfortunately, Yoda admits that he sank the ship he arrived on in the swamp a month after he landed and built his hut
Obi-Wan decides that that's fine actually, since he's a Force ghost and no longer needs to breath and can just go down to the ship to check the logs regardless of its current location
except that the ship has been submerged in the swamp for about 20 years at this point, and the ship has no power, and the computer has been totally waterlogged
at this point, Obi-Wan spends another entire year so furiously frustrated that he is unable to marshal the focus needed to manifest as a Force Ghost at all
once he finally calms down, he spots and identifies a unique subspecies of worm that lives in the swamp, and is able to use the power of his lifelong special interest in worms to instantly determine what planet they're on
he resolves never to tell Luke about any of this, instead insisting that Luke simply wasn't ready yet before he made contact during the battle on Hoth
(it's worth noting that Qui-Gon knew they were on Dagobah the entire time, but didn't speak up because he thought it was funny he was confident that his Padawan would figure it out eventually on his own)
Drew this after watching that one episode where Ezra talks to Yoda at the temple and gets his Kyber Crystal
You should be able to adopt adults for inheritance purposes like in Ancient Rome. Yeah this is Cathy the 23 year old and sheâs my daughter now. She has my last name. When I die she inherits the tire shop.
Cathy will bring glory and dignitas to this Americaâs Tire franchise location just as I and my father did before her.
