Hello There! I’m starting Galaxy- Wide Pride because I wanted a fun challenge for all of us LGBTQ+  Star Wars fans to be able to express ourselves through the characters that mean so much to us. This Challenge isn’t exclusive to artists, but it for anyone in the fandom to come and talk about star wars and sexuality. I only ask that entries for this challenge be kept SFW (safe for work) and legal (No Master/Padawan, clonecest, large age-gap ships, PLEASE.)

These rainbow flag-waving corporations donated millions to anti-gay members of Congress

The tradition of Pride Month began in 1970 with a series of marches to commemorate the Stonewall Riots, when LGBTQ patrons of the Stonewall Inn fought back against harassment and brutality by the police. Before Stonewall, marches by gay and lesbian activists were quiet, with participants dressed in formal attire. After Stonewall, the protests would be loud, with no dress code.

“As the fight for LGBTQ rights became more mainstream, corporations have latched onto Pride Month as a way of courting the LGBTQ community, an important source of customers and skilled employees.

But do these corporations really support the LGBTQ movement? Popular Information has identified nine rainbow flag-waving corporations that gave $1 million or more to anti-gay politicians in the last election cycle.

Deconstructing corporate pride

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the most prominent organization dedicated to LGBTQ rights, produces a “Corporate Equality Index.” In 2019, 572 companies earned a perfect score. HRC says these companies are the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.”

Popular Information identified nine corporations that received a perfect score from HRC but donated $1 million or more in the last election cycle to politicians that received a zero on the HRC Congressional scorecard. The donations were all from corporate PACs to politicians or their leadership PACs.”

They could have just stopped at including all the flags.

But no. They said "I don't care if they're animals. I'm going to make it very clear we're including all races and disabled people."

And it's such small details, but they're there.

Which really shows that you've never had the opportunity to feel validated like this, and that makes me love it even more.

Mand’alor the Resolute

So, I don’t remember where exactly I saw this, but I remember seeing a tumblr post talking about the Armorer taking the darksaber and becoming the Mand’alor. I thought the idea was fucking amazing and ran with it! I fiddled with the lighting and colors for forever but I’m really happy with the final outcome!

I named the Armorer, who we see as a stoic and calm authority figure within the Coven, Mand’alor the Resolute for her stability both in demeanor and in beliefs. I do not see her budging from what she believes. Yet, she is a strong and benevolent figure towards Din and the others within the Coven. Her title reflects those traits. In her hand, she wields both the darksaber and her hammer, as she still holds onto her role as Armorer even as a leader of the Mandalorians. Even in her design, the Armorer exudes the power of an Elder, cloaked in furs with a beautifully crafted helmet that looks more ceremonial than practical. It’s easy to see this figure as a leader, and many all too easily follow the Armorer in her footsteps

can you talk about being intersex and cis? how do you know if you're cis or trans when you're intersex? i promise this isn't meant to be rude i'm just a little confused as to how gender works when you're intersex. thank you so much. <3

I’m cis because I’m afab and still identify as a woman. If I was afab and identified any other way, I’d be trans. I’m intersex because my body itself has a mixed bag of secondary sex characteristics and hormones.

The label “intersex” itself isn’t a gender identity as much as it’s a way for people with mixed or ambiguous sex characteristics to define that experience. There are cis men and women who are intersex, trans people of every kind as well. I’m sure there are intersex people who just identify as intersex entirely but most intersex people I’ve met still identify as male, female, or nonbinary. Because your body doesn’t determine your gender identity.

Also, the opposite of intersex is perisex. You can be cis or trans, while being intersex or perisex. If you’re not intersex, you are perisex.
