Quick Breakfast: Matcha Latte & Champorado

Total Prep/ Cook Time: ~5min

First of all, what is Champorado?

Champorado is a sweet chocolate rice porridge in Philippine cuisine. The original dish was introduced by Spanish conquistadors who colonized the native islands for three long centuries.

In Spanish Mexico, Champurrado is a chocolate-based atole, a warm and thick Mexican beverage, prepared with either corn dough or corn flour, piloncillo water or milk, and occasionally contain cinnamon, anise seed, or vanilla. Ground nuts, orange zest, and egg can also be added to thicken and enrich the drink.

My western recipe takes simple ingredients found in your local grocer if not, the closest Asian store.

Quick 1-Minute Oats (1cup)

Hot Coco Mix (1 packet)

1 cup water

Topping: 3 tbsp of Dry Milk (Evaporated milk may be used as an alternative or whatever milk you have available).

Optional side drink: Instant Matcha in 1 cup hot water

Steps:

Mix ingredients #1, 2, 3 in a bowl.

Microwave for 1.30 to 2min.

Add topping (ingredient #4).

Serve.

Pair with Matcha Latte or any Side Drink of your choice.

Enjoy!!!

This wondrous waterfall in the Philippines wasn’t discovered until 2010. The residents of the nearby village of Sitio Dulao had only come across the site  after a series of floods and forest fires destroyed a significant chunk of the forest that was hiding it. The newfound oasis was christened Asik-Asik, meaning “sprinkle-sprinkle” in the local Hiligaynon language, after the sprinkle of falling water on nearby rocks. Lush vegetation covers the entirety of the ravine, and adds mystery as to where the water is coming from. He was trained in armed and unarmed combat by British military intelligence. He is an expert on electrical devices, and skilled in demolitions work. His body was surgically rebuilt using metal plates, enhancing his strength, speed, agility, stamina, durability and reflexes, but not to superhuman levels. He wears a stolen exoskeleton body armor suit which is equipped with an apparatus that generates electrical shocks on contact. Shockwave’s first appearance was in Master of Kung Fu #42 (April 13, 1976).
