When I Recover
I will not be afraid of going to bed a night because the nightmares will be over.
When I Recover
I won’t be afraid. That’s it.
When I Recover
I will stop hiding my back up box cutter that I keep just Incase.

Mental health awareness week; let’s get real.
Mental health awareness week, right?
Here’s some truth for you. Taking care of your mental health is a constant fight to prove you need care. It’s a choice between buying groceries or your medicine. It’s calling 17 places to try to get in to see a therapist or psychiatrist and having to give an overview of your “problems” just to find out you aren’t “sick enough”, or you can get an appt- two months from now. Mental health is fighting and begging for help for no hand to be found to grab onto. It’s stigma from family and friends. It’s judgement and misunderstanding from the workplace. It’s having a panic attack in a room full of people while accepting their criticism & them not realizing it at all. It’s having reactions to medications you cannot control but also cannot afford to make an emergency appointment with a doctor even with insurance. It’s not being able to take off work to take care of yourself because you already can’t afford to miss a day of pay. Mental health is failing us. It’s often resorting to a suicide attempt that leaves you in a darker place than when you entered it. It’s too many psychiatric hospitals that see dollar signs & over medicate with no therapy at all. It’s choosing between your car payment or an appointment. It’s learning to be silent because then we just feel like a nuisance or that we are being negative.
Newsflash people. We are failing. So obviously failing. It is hard enough to vocalize that we need help, the last thing a person needs is the financial or any other burden that comes alongside of choosing YOUR HEALTH. Open your eyes people. If this doesn’t make you angry, you aren’t paying attention. People are screaming for help to be ridiculed & made a joke of or worse, a burden. Wake up. And if you really don’t realize any of this is the reality, well, shame on you.

We Rise
after falling.
we rise.
we must rise from the rubble, dust ourselves off, & begin again.
we look up.
it’s a long way back to maybe even what we saw as rock bottom;
but we are looking up. ah, yes.
feel that?
rushing into us down into our chest.
hope.
we look up, we start climbing.
We Rise.

Sorry!
Sorry I’ve been MIA! So much has been going on!
I have my website up, have taken time for my own recovery and health, have shave take steps to grieve a close loss.
BUT, I want to know the things YOU will do when you recover or now that you’re recovering. Start sending them in and stay tuned.

Lately I've been taking a deep look within. For specific reasonings and also just because. I realize that most of the time I am different. I am told and reminded of it constantly. I am belittled...
We talk about those "aha!" moments, or moments of the clearest of clarity, eye opening, sometimes jaw dropping moments. I spoke of how
“Go inside and listen to your body, because your body will never lie to you. Your mind will play tricks, but the way you feel in your heart, in your guts, is the truth.”

there is a path. a seemingly crowded path at first. the path is not marked, however still clear. the people are drawn to each other as they
