I always thought of New York being Bruno, deadass I named him Bruno because of this (NY in my incredibly adjacent, not even wttt anymore, au is named Bruno Darkwood).
Bruno is the Rat Man, and New York is also the Rat Man, it makes sense right?
Anyways this is gonna devolve into my insane man rants about my states. If you wanna ask me about stuff then go to @boundby-our-blood and into my inbox :) I'll try to answer everything sent in there
But but but but, I see New York/Bruno (I'm gonna refer to NY as Bruno for the rest of this) as having been "born" (Personifications are. Uhm. Complicated, here. Bruno's humanoid body formed from an animal skeleton) or formed deaf. He follows the footsteps of his Adda* a lot and tends to be more of a night owl, and prefers working during the time the sun isn't out. He's disgustingly traumatized and I love him, he's very asocial like his Adda and also has the cold internal temperature trait like his parent.
I would say that Bruno gets called Adlean's little shadow because of the similar traits, as well as Bruno having followed Adlean around a lot when he was a kid. My guy always wanted to know what his parent was doing, can't blame him for being curious, though.
*Adda is the nickname northeastern states give to Adlean as he was non-binary for a long and they wanted to give him a gender neutral term.
Also Adlean is the Executive Branch, as well as being one of the thirds from me chopping Gov in half... For people who are seeing me around for the first time.
New Jersey :) his name here is Jason Darkwood
He works as a gardener! Mainly for the Darkwood residence as the gardens, both inside and outside, are quite vast. Jason works full time at the Darkwood Residence and his pay from Adlean is called is "allowance" by several other northeastern states as it's coming from his parent, lol.
Jason spends most of his off time in the greenhouse that's attached to the manor because the location of the Darkwood Residence is right next to a river and it gets Incredibly cold and he is nawt spending his time outside during the later hours of the day.
Lastly we have Massachusetts, aka Semne Darkwood.
Semne is a photographer, and works as such. He sells prints of his photos online and has worked in many different types of photography jobs over his years of being alive. He was a wedding photographer for about a year or two and it was incredible stressful for him as he isn't very great at handling people.... he's great at doing nature photography, though, as well as photographing events that he isn't in control of in almost no aspects.
He also hella short, he's like 5'3 but he can still do his job. Semne loves his job during family-wide events because he gets the funniest photos during em because what do you mean Hunter (Pennsylvania) is running around in a hot dog costume with several hot dogs in his mouth that he keeps Dropping On The Ground and then putting them back into his mouth. Hunter's also drunk off his ass, too. Semne gets amazing photos of Grayson (Florida) almost drowning in the lake trying to save a bee despite him swimming professionally and competitively.

Also Mass is short just don't bring it up. He'll bite. I also entirely get why he stopped Wedding Photography. MFS r crazy. Not even lying. But he would totally take like the worst pictures possible and cackle Abt it later. Probably blackmailing them 2 not share them. I would tho. Get my paper.
Also of course Penn and Florida would be doing that shit. They're dumb asf. No hopes. 😞
