Random Witchy Story Time
A few years ago I was at a museum that had some old grimoires and alchemy books on display and translations to the pages posted by them. My favorite grimoire page was a spell for rain where the person would go outside with a bucket of water and pour it onto the ground, then proceed to pretty much yell at the clouds about âsee its not hard!â. To date that is my favorite rain spell I have ever seen.
Activities inspired by Jack Frost
Make paper snowflakes
Play in the snow and make snow angels
Make sugar frosted fruit
Look for shapes and signs in the frost on your windows
Go ice skating
Melt snow and use the water for teas and baths
Melt icicles and wipe the water around your home for protection
Stare into the swirling snow and look for frost sprites dancing by
Shake a snow globe
Make a tiny snow man or sculpture
Make an ice lantern
Go out at night and look up at the stars
Hang up clear crystals or white quartz
Shape snow into a bowl and pour seeds into it for the animals
Leave out acorn caps of apple cider for the local fae
String white tree lights in your room
Make powdered sugar snowball cookies (x)
Frost the inside of a jar with white glitter and use as a candle holder
Catch snow flakes on your tongue
Wear white, pale blues and silver
Hang silver wind chimes in a window
Tuck white tea lights into the snow by your door
Pour maple syrup over a bowl of clean snow as a treat
Fog a windowpane with your breath and draw sigils in it
Look at the intricate patterns of photographed snowflakes

âšđ Yuletide muesli đ âš
the holiday rush (shout-out to my folks working in retail/hospitality/food service) has left me feeling overworked and undernourished, so i took some time this evening to make a big batch of muesli! itâs an easy go-to meal high in omega-3s, fiber, antioxidants, and magical energy we could all use this time of year! đ
Ingredients*
-2c slivered almonds  -1/2c chopped walnuts  -1/2c flax seed  -1c pepitas
-1/3c chia seeds  -whole/ground nutmeg  -whole/ground coriander seed
-1/2c unsweetened coconut flakes  -1 1/2c dried cherries  -3/4c jumbo raisins
-honey or maple syrup (optional)  -2tbsp sea salt  -coconut oil (optional)
Directions
-heat large, heavy skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium. add a spoonful of coconut oil, melt.
-mix all nuts & seeds in a bowl, add to skillet to toast. grate whole nutmeg (about half or 2 tsp) and five coriander seeds (~1tsp) over mixture. add salt.
-toasting will take about 15 minutes, stir regularly. about halfway through, drizzle a large spoonful of honey and mix well. continue to toast.
-when fully toasted (light brown color, aroma of spices present, glistening from released oils), allow to cool before combining with coconut flake, cherries, and raisins. transfer to airtight container, charge with your intentions + crystals of choice, and keep for up to a week! enjoy with nut milk or yogurt <3 !!
*iâm very fortunate to live near a grocery store with a bulk-food section for oats, nuts, dried fruits, and grains that makes this an affordable option for me. Trader Joeâs also has reasonably priced ingredients - do some research and find what works for you (also swap out anything here with whatâs available!) â€ïž

A Jar/Container spell to bring peace and harmony to the people within the building.
Needed:Â -Â Jar or Container ( you could use an empty ornament for this!) - White Candle - Basil - Carnelian - Chamomile (You can use the contents of a tea packet for this!) - Malachite - Cinnamon - A sigil for peace
Steps: - Light your white candle. - Take your container and line the bottom with Basil. - Add a layer of Chamomile. - Add a layer of Cinnamon - Draw out your sigil on paper, with a marker that wont bleed - Use you sigil as a barrier between the layers below and the remaining ingredients. - Add your carnelian and malachite on top. - Focus on the ingredients, fill them with your wish and hopes for a peaceful holiday season. - seal your container and let it sit in the building youâll be spending the majority of your holiday in!

Holiday Witch Ball OrnamentsÂ
Whatâs a more inconspicuous way to add witchcraft to the holiday season than by combining the well-known concept of Witch Balls with widely used ornaments? Add the following ingredients to either clear, glass ornaments (so they can be charged by compliments) or to solid ornaments (to be even more unnoticeable) for the desired effects.

Sigils for Depression, Self Harm and Suicide

I got an ask regarding this, and I figured it would be useful for me to compile these all into a post for everyone to access.
As always, witchcraft is not a substitution for proper medical care. If you are concerned about your depression, self harm, or suicidal intention, PLEASE seek a professional for medical advice; let someone know what you are going through so they may help you in your difficult times. If you have medication or appointments for further assistance, please do not neglect them, for your own health and safety.
Know also, that you are not alone. There are many people out there who love and care for you, and will support you through your darkest hours. You are strong and beautiful and wonderful, and though the world can be harsh, there is light and hope and beauty still - including in you. It is hard, but it wonât always be; it will get easier, just hold in there. You are strong and can pull through this. I have faith in you.
If anyone ever needs to talk about anything, including things like this, know my ask box and messenger are always open for such things. I have been down and back along this road myself. We all need someone there for us. If you need it, I will be there for you. (My internet situation is still really screwy, so please, if you message me, just hold on until I can reply. Everyday Witchuals for a more magickal home
Some discreet tips for you broom-closet witches, some lavish tips for the full-fledged witch, and some of my favorite in-betweens!
Sweep with a broom (besom) regularly. To the mundane eye, youâre clearing away dust and crumbs, but any witch knows youâre really spiritually cleansing and charging your home.
Put a line of salt on your windowsill for protection.
Forage fallen sticks to tie into a pentacle with twine. Hang as a wreath on the front door.
Candles in every room. I have great luck finding totally unused candles at thrift stores around town!
Call it âaromatherapyâ if youâre still a secret witch, but utilize scent as the powerful thing it is! Burn insense. Have athsma? Try essential oils and scented candles. Budgeting? You can always put herbs and teas into the wax of a melting pillar candle to release the scent (I love doing this with chamomile and lavender, it doubles as an anointing of the candle).
Bake bread. Knead it with intention, cut a sigil in the top before baking, indulge in the act of creating.
Open windows to bring in the element of air and purge your home of bad or stale energy.
Collect and display little things from nature: pinecones, stones, crystals, dried flowers, acorns, feathers (if youâre permitted). Altars donât need to be obvious, they can just be things that make you grounded and glad.
Live. Always remember that anywhere a witch lives is magical, whether you feel it or not. Do these little things for yourself, to cherish feeling connected, but witchcraft is not about pressure or conforming.

Homemade Inks
One of the many ways for us artsy witches to use the natural world in our practice is by making our own inks. The act of collecting ingredients, creating the ink, filling it with your energy and intent, and using it in your craft is truly magical! You can add some special touches to your Grimoire, draw sigils, add to potions, create fabulous works of art, or just replace your chemical filled paint with a non-toxic, eco-friendly alternative that is safe for your kids!
Here are some base materials you can use to make inks and the color they generally make. Obviously thereâs some variation with the final color depending on the material itself (more or less ripe and the inherent color variation between selections for example) but this will give you a general idea. Also note that the color of some materials can change over a period of time.
