These are the type of woods I long to get lost in an stumble upon some ancient castle, covered in moss and overgrown with ages of vines, wearing at the stones bit by bit as time advances on despite the ever stillness of the fortress within its woods.

Ways to Practice Witchcraft with Little or No Money
cinnamon orange cookies for joy, love, and happiness
These cookies are the perfect way to brighten up a dreary day or to give someone the gift of happiness (and a delicious cookie).
Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
juice and zest from 1 orange
2.5 cups all-purpose flour (or, in my case, a gluten-free flour blend)
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 TBSP cinnamon
Star Magical Ingredients
Oranges bring happiness, joy, fun, cheerfulness, and bliss. They’re associated with love, particularly with peaceful and fun relationships. They also bring general good fortune.
Cinnamon is an all-purpose good vibe spice, but is especially associated with love, passion, and energy. It is said to strengthen any spell and to lend power to other magical energies.
Vanilla is associated with love, comfort, and peace. This is a more laid back energy than orange or cinnamon, and helps mellow out the energy of this spell.
To make these cookies…
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (177 degrees Celsius). Make sure you’ve set your butter out to soften! Otherwise, pop it in the microwave for a few seconds.
Set the mood by putting on a playlist of your favorite happy songs, thinking back on a happy memory, or doing something else to get yourself into a joyful headspace.
Mix the softened butter with the sugar until thoroughly combined. Then, add the egg, vanilla, and orange juice + zest. Mix all of these ingredients together.
Add the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix until thoroughly combined.
Hold the mixing bowl in both hands and concentrate on channeling pure joy into the cookie dough. Think of a moment when you felt truly happy, and focus on the emotions that memory pulls up. Pour all of those emotions into your cookie dough.
Take palmfuls of dough and roll them into balls, then place them three inches apart on a baking sheet. If you’d like, you can carefully use a knife to carve a symbol that represents happiness (like a smiley face or sunburst) into each cookie.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown. Take them out and allow them to cool for a few minutes before you dig in.
“It is only once in a while that you see someone whose electricity and presence matches yours at that moment.”
— Charles Bukowski

• to do energy cleaning in your home, put in a glass: water, coarse salt and charcoal. position it behind the entrance door.
• bury egg shells in a pot or in your home garden to ensure abundance and fertility in your home.
• do not put the ashes left over from the incense out, they can be reused in making the black salt.
• burn dry rosemary to attract protection, purification, psychic abilities and openness for healing.
• to attract positive energies to you, spread several mirrors around your home, just avoid those with sharp details on your edge. they also help to clear the mind.
• to ward off any bother that is bothering you, write the key words of the situation on a white candle. light the candle and ask the fire beings to burn this evil that you want to destroy.
• spread blackheads under the bed for protection during your sleep.
• make a wreath with chamomile flower and hang it on the door to protect the environment throughout the year from physical and spiritual damage.
• use cinnamon to improve your individual skill with prophecy through divination, channeling and working with oracles.
• when making your own oils, use olive oil and dried herbs of your choice.
• press and store rosemary leaves in your books. this will increase your wisdom during your studies and your memory, making you learn more easily.
• burn some thyme on your altar to clean up your magic space. thyme when burned with incense strengthens psychic power.

Witchcraft 101 - Ingredients you probably have but never thought to use:
Plain, basic, normal rocks. Use them to mark a circle. Paint sigils on them and place them accordingly. Tie something you want gone from your life (metaphorically - like a picture of your ex or a gift from a toxic friend) to the rock and put it into a body of water, where it'll sink.
Glass. Being transparent (most of the time), glass can be used to aid in revealing the truth and seeing past lies, unrealistic ideas, and idealized aspects of your life.
Your shower. Yeah, we talk about ritual baths frequently, but showers can serve a similar but unique purpose. With a shower, you can visualize and manifest whatever it is you need pouring down onto you, and whatever it is you want to get rid of being rinsed and sucked down the drain.
Anything you can wear on your person - makeup, clothes, jewelry (even your hair if you wanna go that way). Color correspondence is talked about a lot in the community, but usually in reference to things you keep around you, not things you keep on you or carry with you.
Yeah, I know this one is a little short today, but I wanted to get another one of these out and I'm not feeling the best today. Feel free to give me further witchcraft 101 topic suggestions.
don’t put any foreign polluter into a body of water!! tying a picture of an ex or a gift and throwing it into a pond or lake is pollution and could harm the wildlife living in it if they eat it. alternatively: just write their name on the rock in black sharpie (black for banishing) and throw it!

The thing is, we change. We are not the same person we were five years ago. Hel, a lot of us are not even the same people we were last week. We change, and our beliefs, favourites, thoughts and the way we see ourselves changes with it.
The same is true for our witchraft, religion and spiritual beliefs. This is why I have a list of question that I like to answer for myself every couple of years. I first started this when I came across a list of questions by Juniper from Walking the Hedge (site no longer in use) in 2008, yes, over ten years ago. Every few years I filled in the questions and looked back at the answers I gave before. Some never changed, some changed quite a lot.
When our coven started a new lesson plan, I gave out the list of questions as well. We sealed our answers in envelopes and plan to fill them in again, once we finish our lessons. Then open the envelopes and look at the answers side by side. To see how we have changed.
I looked at the list last week and found it actually lacking a bit. The questions were very deity- and spiritual based, so I was missing some more questions about my personality and witchcraft. So I decided to make my own list of questions!
Since I wanted to make this more a weekly journaling/grimoire prompt for myself I put together 52 questions. These can be answered weekly (maybe every year) or you can work through the list in one go and repeat that every few years or so.
Some notes on the wording: I consider myself both a witch and a pagan, but to keep it easier to read I only used wording like “witch” and “witchcraft”, they can however be substituted for “pagan”, “paganism” or even “my path”, should that fit you better. When I talk about “sacred space” this can both mean a ritual space like a temple or casting of a circle, but also just your home or outdoors witchy environment.
I’d love it if you would tag anything you feel comfortable with posting online with the tag #writeyourwitchcraft!

A Deep Room Cleanse
The state of my room is extremely important to me. It’s a direct reflection of my mental health, so when it’s messy, my energy levels are low and I just feel yucky. There’s no way I’m getting any kind of work done, magical or mundane. When it feels good and clean to be in, it’s a lot easier to deal with my symptoms and be productive. You don’t have to do every step every time of course, but each step has helped me so I figured a list like this might help someone.
Change the lighting. Use natural sources of light (like pulling back the curtains and letting the sun in) over artificial ones. If you have salt lamps to turn on, those are still very nice. If you need artificial light to keep it from being too dark, try to prioritize light bulbs you like the color of, and ones that don’t whistle quietly when they’re on.
Change the airflow. Open a window, if you can. Often our rooms feel yucky because the air is stale. Get some fresh air moving. If it’s too cold, it’s okay to only keep it open for a few minutes or put on a coat while you work because you’re stubborn like me.
Change the sound. Put on your favorite cleansing music. Let it soak into the room. I tend to go or ambient spa stuff, or playlists that sound built for a rainy day. (Note: the music that helps you cleanse the best may not be the same as what you like the most. The playlist should keep you focused/uplifted while you work and reflect the vibes you want your room to have.)
Change the smell. Take out the trash, maybe refresh the sheets on your bed. Light a scented candle, some incense, heat up some oil, something to make your room smell distinctly different from the mucky-feeling room from before. (If your method of choice is something short like a room spray, I actually like doing it at the very end.)
Actually clean and organize. Nothing junks up the energy of a room more quicker than actual junk. Organize everything as much as you can (this might mean finally gutting your closet, even if you can close the door and hide it.) Wipe down any surfaces that need it, get everything fresh and functional again. Do some laundry while you work. If you have clothes or trinkets that are just collecting dust, extra points for purging them!
Cleanse any sacred spaces by themselves. A lot of us have altars or shrines in our rooms. A sacred space can also be just an extra important area of your room, like a reading nook. Make sure to give them extra attention! You don’t need to wipe the board energetically (and probably shouldn’t), but taking a little extra time to clean surfaces, straighten up, and make sure everything feels okay on them goes a long way.
Cleanse in your regular way. Bust out the herb bundles, the bells, the ribbons, the broom, whatever you usually do to cleanse a space! The room is SUPER primed for it now, most of the negative energy probably already feels removed if not broken down. A good once-over with your favorite cleansing method should finish it off nicely.
Refresh any wards or protections. Self explanatory. If you maintain energy borders in your room, now is a good time to check in on them and zhoosh them if needed. Keep the space clean for longer!
Practice self-care. Take a shower, a nap, eat some food, whatever you need. You’ve put in a lot of work and you deserve it.
