I read a tweet that Kristen Bell was getting harassed for her views on vaccines and my heart sunk. I thought another celebrity fell for the anti-vaccine propaganda. It’s the same feeling I get when I find out an actor I like is a Scientologist. Kristen has been a long time celebrity crush going back to Veronica Mars. I’ve always found her to be so delightful. So I was especially concerned.

So I head to google to see how bad it is. Thinking to myself “If she befriended Jenny McCarthy I am going to lose it.” And then this headline pops up.

OH THANK GOD. 

This is why I check things. She was getting harassed because she was telling anti-vaxxers to heck off. I guess I assumed the worst due to being burned in the past. I’m glad I was mistaken. 

Be like Kristen Bell. Vaccinate your kids.

Honestly this is how colored hair works. Adult men automatically assume that I have loud opinions and will talk back to them (they are correct and have learned from experience), but children compliment me all the time.

Confirming the blue hair thing here. Kids think I’m magical, old ladies often go “oh, I wish I’d had your courage”, old men glare at me like I have two heads, and then glare at my father like somehow they expect him to control his unruly 33 year old. It’s awesome.

Friend, I’m gunna tell you this right now, DO IT. Take. The. Leap. Your hair will always grow out and can be re-dyed if you hate it. I started dyeing my hair red in high school and haven’t looked back.

When I had blue hair I never got catcalled, when it happened fairly regularly where I was at the time. I got dirty looks a few times, but mostly people either afraid to actually look at me, children staring in amazement, people whispering where they thought I wouldn’t notice (mostly children to parents), or people coming up and complimenting me.

One man stopped a conversation he was having on his phone to compliment me twice in a store. First he was like, “woah! I love your hair!” and told his friend about it, then he stopped again when we crossed aisles again and was saying, “I just can’t get over how pretty that color looks! And it matches your eyes! That’s amazing! Have a good one!” Another guy stopped me on campus to tell me it was his favorite color and he has shoes that match and maybe he should dye his hair too. Just the most innocent compliments that usually women only get from other women.

Men who don’t like it are going to be too afraid of you to say anything, because if you are bold enough to have bright blue hair, you’re bold enough to tell them off.

ok so there’s a game me and my friends play called “don’t get me started” and basically someone gives another person a random topic and they have to go on an angry rant about it and it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us at parties and car rides so I highly recommend playing sometimes with your friends

me and my friends play “World’s Greatest Expert” where one of the other players says “Hey, I heard you’re the world’s greatest expert on ____” and you have to give an in depth (and probably completely false) lecture about the thing you’re the greatest expert on. Other players are allowed to ask you questions.

Vegans of tumblr, listen up. Harvesting agave in the quantities required so you dont have to eat honey is killing mexican long-nosed bats. They feed off the nectar and pollinate the plants. They need the agave. You want to help the environment? Go back to honey. Your liver and thyroid will thank you, as well. Agave is 90% fructose, which can cause a host of issues. Bye.

So let me get this straight ,vegans should stop eating the food of the Mexcian long-nosed bats, because the bats need it, and instead vegans should instead eat honey, the food of bees, that their larvae need, even though the bee populations are facing ecological issues as it stands.  10/10 post, dude.

It is a 10/10 post. Because OP is right.

Bees do not suffer when beekeepers take their honey, because experienced beekeepers do not take all of their honey, in fact, they leave plenty of honey left for the bees to consume over the winter. If we do not collect their honey, 1 of two things will happen.

1. they will leave for a bigger home. Which at first seems fine until you remember that bees are dying very quickly out in the wild.

or

2. They will start using the areas that they reserve for their young as a place to make more honey. This is bad because if no more young are being produced, then the hive will start to die out because no new workers are coming into the world, and the average live only 150 days, so it would also mean the loss of more bees.

So yeah, eating honey isn’t inhumane at all. In fact, you’re helping the bees by eating what they produce and giving money to the bee keepers who are the ones making sure that the hive will keep being healthy.
