“Subverting” Catholic art? Oh, okay. I see, you think this has nothing to do with you. You log onto the internet and you post about how “Wound of Christ” from Psalter and Prayer Book of Bonne de Luxembourg, attributed to Jean le Noir, c.1349, for instance, looks like a vulva because you're trying to tell the world that you enjoy Catholic art and imagery in an alternative, queer, risqué way that challenges Christian beliefs. But what you don't know is that that stigma isn’t just a vulva. It's not just a mandorla. It's not just yonic. It's actually intentionally erotic. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that around 1297, Saint Angela of Foligno experienced a vision of Christ himself, who called her to put her mouth to the wound in his side and lick the freshly flowing blood. And then I think it was Saint Catherine of Siena who drank blood and a clear liquid from the wound before receiving a ring made from Christ’s foreskin? And then graphically erotic encounters with the side wound of Christ quickly showed up in the writings of eight different mystics. And then the yonic interpretation of the stigmata filtered down through the illuminated manuscripts and then trickled on down into some pseudo-intellectual corner of the internet…where you, no doubt, fished it out of some Pinterest board. However, that interpretation represents hundreds of years and countless visions of religious ecstasy. And it's sort of comical how you think that you've come up with an idea that exempts you from Christian theology when, in fact…you're posting an image that was sexualized for you by the very Medieval saints you think you’re so different than…from “subverted” Catholic art.
I can't remember who said it but I saw a comment or tweet talking about hypocrisy that essentially said The Hypocrisy Is The Point. hypocrisy is power. it's the ability to set rules for everyone else except you. and if power is a virtue then hypocrisy is a virtue. it's why you never really get anywhere with "by your logic..." or "then wouldn't that mean...". it's not that they don't realize they're being hypocritical. they do it on purpose to prove that you have to listen to them and they don't have to listen to you
I will forever share this excerpt from the end of In Search of a Flat Earth because it so perfectly describes this phenomenon:
All reactionary movements are in tension with reality. A tension that eventually results in psychological crisis. And belief systems like QAnon are the endpoint of that crisis. The point in which reality itself becomes an enemy. Because ultimately it's not about facts. It's about power. QAnons are not otherwise empty vessels who believe one wacky thing. They have an agenda. QAnon, what it accepts, what it believes, is driven by the outcomes it justifies. [...] The reason they aren't more bothered by the extreme inconsistencies and outright contradictions... is because it gives them power over others who are bound by something as weak and flimsy as reality. They claim to be against corruption while hanging their hopes on an openly corrupt man. And that naked hypocrisy is the point. They will effortlessly carve out an exception because it makes them exceptional. They will engage in wild hypocrisy as an act of domination, adhering to something openly untrue out of spite, because they believe that power belongs to those with the greatest will to take it, and what greater sign of will than the ability to override truth? Their will is a hammer that they are using to beat reality itself into a shape of their choosing. A simple world, where reality is exactly what it looks like from their eyes, devoid of complexity, devoid of change, where they are right, and their enemies are silent. They are trying to build a Flat Earth.

Dr. McCoy’s medical tunic’s fit sure changed. It’s kinda big on him at one point, whereas in the second photo, it’s very form fitting and looks spectacular.

Bitch we're ALL the problematic transsexual you were warned about via call out posts and news articles. Do not betray your siblings in the struggle, we are all next.
"But what if they did x, y, and/or z! They need to be held accountable!"
I means it's honestly unlikely they did x, y, and/or z. Most call out posts are just bullshit lies or so taken out of context that they're just as fraudulent as a bullshit lie.
However, if they did? A callout post is useless. It's utterly pointless.
A callout post does nothing but:
Isolate the supposed perpetrator, making it impossible for them to stay in a community that would otherwise be able to go "Hey bro/sis/sib, that was fucked, let's talk about it and fix it".
Puts a spotlight on the possible victim that prevents them from recovery or healing.
Creates drama that creates damage for all parties.
And that's if their was any truth in the post.
A callout post that's just a bunch of garbage though? That:
Isolates the victim of the slander, leaving them volunrable to attacks and harassment
Feeds into transphobia both generalized and specific to the victim of slander
Creates infighting, gatekeeping, and policement of the community
Often forces people who had nothing to do with the initial drama to take part in a now ever delevoping drama, which creates more callout posts, more slander, more harrasment, and more attacks on community members. Most often effecting the most marginalized members of out community.
Forces people to view content that is often triggering and demands that they make a moral statement about it, while trying to process or cope with the content.
Creates room for Terfs, tehms, radfems, and transphobes of all brands, to stick their ugly heads in and go "see, I was right about the trans cult, do you see what monsters they are".
There is never a valid reason for a callout post. There is no callout post that has ever successfully "held someone accountable for their actions" and there is no callout post that has not done damage to our community.

Give me less "being kind requires zero effort" and more "being kind is worth the effort it takes."
"wholesome" and "pure" are not antonyms of "sexual" btw

"The acts in marriage by which the intimate and chaste union of the spouses takes place are noble and honorable; the truly human performance of these acts fosters the self-giving they signify and enriches the spouses in joy and gratitude." Gaudium et Spes 49, CCC 2362
This also applies to the course by which attraction, including sexual attraction as a significant component, guides young men and women to seek out each other for marriage.
girl help the catholics found my post about how sex is morally neutral and they're trying to make it about marriage
Sex was already specific to marriage. It's called "the marriage act".
surely you are aware that unmarried people have sex without any intention to be married in the future
I am, to my frustration, aware. This is one of the unfortunate things about the world, and I urge them to stop.
are you also aware that sex was a thing before the concept of marriage was invented? like. bruh. stop trying to force the world to follow your specific religious beliefs
1. No, I am aware that marriage was invented before any human had sex, and that the first humans to ever have sex were married to each other.
2. Who said anything about force? I call those who will listen to the truth.
i guarantee you that Homo erectus did not have a system of government that recognized legal marriage

ohhh look at me i’m not bones i’m Special Bones. i need Special Bone Expensive Insurance. sometimes the Special Bone Expensive Doctor just goes “yeah that’s fucked up” and you have to pay him anyway. don’t brush? gums recede. brush too hard? gums also recede. don’t floss? problems. floss? still problems! sometimes i’ll just break and die for no reason. lots of them at the kentucky derby
The thing is nobody at pride is evaluating you to determine if you’re queer enough to be there because they’re too busy thinking “it’s so hot out” and “why is this lemonade 12 dollars?”
this one comes with a warning
There’s always a reason. It’s your fault if you can’t see it. Don’t piss her off with dumb shit.
I've said this before and I'll say it again: it's more important to know and understand fully why something is harmful than it is to drop everything deemed problematic. It's performative and does nothing. People wonder why nobody has critical thinking skills and this is part of it because no one knows how to simousltansly critique and consume media. You need to use discernment.
This is ultimately why propaganda is going to work on you. Because you never learned how to think for yourself and the actual ideology behind things. You simply rely on group think and the bare minimum explanations to tell you what's good and bad.
