Loneliness
-Winston was rather lonely in his time on the moon. The other gorillas resented him because he was so much smarter than they were, and favored by the scientists (especially Dr. Harold Winston)
-Dr. Winston was his only real friend - and father figure. The other scientists seemed to see Winston as a test subject; something to wonder about and experiment with. Dr. Winston saw him for what he was: an intelligent, sapient being with a brilliant mind and passion, and he treated the young gorilla accordingly.
-When the other gorillas went on their rampage and killed all the humans, Winston locked himself into one of the labs, working day and night, in both fear and sorrow, to prepare his escape to Earth. The smell of the nearby dead humans was starting to grow unbearable, but, fortunately, Winston finished his work, and was able to escape to Earth.
-The young scientist had a stroke of luck upon arrival. The first people to find him were agents of Overwatch, who knew about Horizon Lunar Colony and the experiments there. Had anyone else found Winston, they might have panicked, calling this talking, hyper-intelligent gorilla a freak of nature. And that would not have ended well for anyone involved.
-But, with his only friend dead, and most of Overwatch seeing Winston as a resource, his loneliness only grew. It wasn’t until he built the Chronal Accelerator to save Lena Oxton that he made a friend again, and it’s through this friendship with Tracer that Winston truly began to flourish, growing close to all of the Overwatch members active before the agency fell.
-He had a family, for the first time since Dr. Winston’s death. And when Overwatch fell, he was devastated. But now, with his illegal recall in effect, his family is starting to come together again - and new members are joining. Winston couldn’t be happier… even if rough days are ahead for the newly-formed Overwatch.
-Talon and Blackwatch are after them… And much of the world may be against them, too, thanks to the Petras Act outlawing any and all Overwatch activities. Not to mention the Second Omnic Crisis that started in Russia… But Winston wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s making a difference again. He’s building a new family. And he’s not going to let anything stop him.
Not much of a tear jerker but d'ya regret any of the things that led you to where you've ended up t'day?

“I don’t regret any of my actions, no…”
Winston had to think a bit longer on the subject, going silent as he did. He didn’t mind the silence, comfortable enough in Lena’s presence to not be perturbed by it, knowing she would be patient with him. “..I regret my inactions. I always wonder if I could have saved Dr. Winston, or any of the other humans on the moon. I was so young and scared back then that I just hid away, building my escape… but that’s no real excuse. I regret not sending the call to rebuild Overwatch sooner. Every second I waited, every time I decided against making the call, more people died in Russia and elsewhere…”
A small grumble escaped the gorilla as he rubbed his head, “I’m tired of sitting back. I’m not going to miss any more opportunities to help people, from here on out! And I know you’re right there with me, Lena!”

Sign the papers so they can pick you up tomorrow and you can get clean.” “What the hell are you doing?! Did you do that to yourself?!” “When was the last time you left the house? Or opened the curtains for that matter.” “Here, just keep breathing. It’ll be okay. Better out than in…” “This can’t go on like this! You’re not eating, you’re not sleeping, you barely talk!” “I’m sorry. I went through your room and found this. Explain what the hell this is doing in your room!” “I thought you’d quit! How long have you been lying to me?” “I’m only trying to help and right now I think I have a much better idea of what you need than you do.” “Did you take anything? Why are you passing out? Hey! ((I got placed at a 57! I think that’s decent?? I played mostly tanks like D.Va and Winston, with a little bit of Lucio and Hanzo. It’s a lot different than normal games!))

“Urghhh...”
A low growl escaped the scientist as he fussed over the wiring in his tesla cannon, sparks shooting off in all kinds of directions. The last battle saw his weapon take some heavy damage, and now it was on the fritz! Winston hoped he could repair it soon, otherwise he’d have to build a new weapon... and that did not sound like a fun time when there was hero work to be done! He was so focused on his work that he didn’t even notice when someone entered his lab...
((So I have that Pokemon xkit extension thingy and um

"Oi! Winston! I'm in a giant hamster ball!" He seems far too happy about this fact for some reason.
And there’s the resounding crash as the giant ball slammed into a wall. Even Winston felt that one.

Winston surely wasn’t. Although the Overwatch Recall was illegal, he still didn’t like the idea of accepting known criminals into the ranks. The A.I. was quick to assuage him, logical as ever. [Winston, Overwatch needs as many allies as possible. Although she is the daughter of a known criminal leader, she has committed no real crimes herself. And, even if she did, you are also a criminal.]
The ape groaned, knowing that Athena was right, as always. The Petras Act saw to that. Turning towards his computer, he typed a few commands in, opening the door to his lab to allow the newcomer inside. His head poked up from the window as he looked down at her, putting on the best friendly expression he could muster, “Hello! And, welcome to Watchpoint: Gibraltar, Shinju Ginno!”
