So you wanna make your own incense?
You've come to the right place sweetness. For clarity's sake I want to specify that I am not a professional. This is simply what I did to make the incense that I use. Always research your herbs and herbal mixtures, be aware of your allergies, and remember to use herbs from high quality sources to protect your health. And remember, the best witchcraft is safely practiced witchcraft.
What you'll need: Herb of choice (no correlations listed here, otherwise we will be here all night)
Coffee grinder (or a mortar and pestel, but baby we are in the 21st century work smarter not harder)
Tap water (charge it if you want for extra pizzazz)
Optional: oven, preheat to 190 degrees Fahrenheit
Step one: grind up your herbs in the coffee grinder, the finer the better. My herb was food grade lavender.
Step two: Divide the ground herb into two separate bowls, a wet bowl and a dry bowl. Into the wet bowl, mix into the herb with some water so the consistency is a modable clay. Sacred water is great for this.
Step three: Form the clay into a cone shape in any way that makes the most sense for your body. For me, that involves using my thumbs and middle fingers, but whatever way works best.
Roll the wet cone into the dry bowl, coating the cone in a layer of powdered lavender.
You can either leave the cone to dry over night, alternatively---
Place in oven for 40 minutes to an hour to dehydrate the cones!
Ta-da! I hope these directions inspire you to give this a shot yourself. I know I had a lot of fun making this lavendar incense, and I know I'm excited to make more in the future. Don't stop creating lovelies.

📦 Spellcraft for Witches Between Homes
I'm moving and had to pack up all my typical witchy stuff for a few months. My candles, tarot cards, bells, herbs, incense, etc. are all in boxes. It has prompted me to practice in an entirely different way. Here are some ideas for witches who are between homes and can't access their usual tools of the craft:
Kitchen Witchcraft. Say an incantation over your coffee, perform tasseomancy with your tea, draw sigils in your yogurt, or cast a spell with a mix of spices in your food.
Outdoor Witchcraft. Use found objects in the forest or beach to create an organic temporary altar, make incense with wild foraged plants (only if you are 100% confident in your ID skills), or make spell grids with wildflowers or seashells.
Art Witchcraft. Draw a 2D altar on a piece of paper, write poetry, or draw sigils. Put a spell on the ink in your pen or the graphite in your pencil.
Digital Witchcraft. Cast spells with emojis, light a spell candle digitally, download a moon phase tracking app, or start an online grimoire.
Hedge Witchcraft. Rely on the power of your mind: visualize your altar as you cast spells, travel the astral plane, or connect with spirit guides.
Cosmic Witchcraft. Connect with the planets on clear nights, perform spells using the energy of the moon phases, conjure UFOs with your consciousness, or invoke the energy of a constellation.
This is by no means an exhaustive list. It's just a few ideas to help you find what works for you and maintain your connection to your practice when your life is in boxes and everything feels liminal. Much love.
It’s a good time to recirculate this Womb Protection Sigil by Sara Miles and visualize safe outcomes for all who may become pregnant

✨ Spells & Magic
- Practice daily energy cleansing under the shower. - If you have a bathtub, create bath spells to give you power. - Open windows when it rains. - Make sprays with specific herbs for your home or your bed. - Listen to waterfall / rain playlists. - Charge jars of water under the moonlight to collect moon water. - Dress with blue colors to use the power of water.
A form of Water Magick: Water Bowls 🪞🌊💖✨
Get yourself a bowl that you'll want to use for spell work (I use a glass decorative bowl).
Once you find a bowl you resonate with, fill it up with water.
When I fill my bowl I put a pinch of sea salt and a few drops of oil. It depends on what kind of work I'm doing, but my universal oil in spell craft is olive oil. Then, I have a few pieces of quartz and rose quartz I keep in my bowl. Over time, you'll know how you'll want to customize your bowl for spell work, but no matter what I always add in a pinch of sea salt. Salt in water creates electrolytes, which holds/stores energy/intentions/electricity (Sea Salt represents the ocean for me also).
After you create your water bowl, you can pray your intentions into it as you please until the bowl dries up.
The alternative is if you're feeling specific with your intentions, you can take a small piece of paper and write your intentions onto it. When you're done writing your intentions, you place it into your water bowl.
Whether you pray or write your intentions into your water bowl, you have to wait for the bowl to dry up. Once the bowl is dried, it means your intentions are set into the universe. This means you've charged the water with your intentions and it evaporated into the universe and it is at work.
If you decided to write your intentions, you can do as you please with it.
With my written intentions I'll burn it, place it into a mason jar filled with water and herbs (if I want the spell to continue), bury it, or get creative in however you'd like to continue your ritual.
Then, clean your bowl and crystals (if any), refill, and keep the energy flowing!
I have grown to love working with water in all my spell work to where I even use mirrors as my magickal tool (mirrors are the water element which is for another post in the near future lol).
My typical water bowl is: water, my tumbled crystals, a pinch of sea salt, and a few drops of olive oil. I typically focus my intentions into my bowl. I may light candles to add power, or hold onto one of my larger crystals to amplify my energy.
Water holds memory and shapes to our emotions and thoughts. It's an intuitive element and shapes to our wants and needs.
If there are any other Water Witches like myself, I hope you enjoy this method of spell work!
