Last month I was in the ER, the most vulnerable emotionally that I've ever been while putting myself in the hands of a stranger. That the intake doctor had a lanyard heavy with Pride pins mattered. RIP to a legend! I know a lot of people have mixed feelings about John Redcorn as a character, but I’ve always loved him, especially the complexity about his relationship with the Gribble family and his deeply terrible rock music. The writers took their time, but John Redcorn ended up as a three dimensional character, not just an indigenous stereotype or Nancy’s sexy Lothario, and I think Jonathan Joss’ performance helped facilitate that transition. Even though it seems like his acting career had slowed in the past few years, he was only 59 and it’s a tragedy for his end to come from such senseless violence. 

I’d also like to take a moment to remember Victor Aaron, the original voice actor for John Redcorn, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in 1996 at only 39 years old. He only had the opportunity to appear in two episodes, but the character was roughly based on him. I don’t really believe in curses, but it’s definitely a sad coincidence both our John Redcorns died so young and so suddenly.

"what did students do before chatgpt?" well one time i forgot i had a history essay due at my 10am class the morning of so over the course of my 30 minute bus ride to school i awkwardly used by backpack as a desk, sped wrote the essay, and got an A on it.

six months later i re-read the essay prior to the final exam, went 'ohhhh yeah i remember this', got a question on that topic, and aced it.

point being that actually doing the work is how you learn the material and internalize it. ChatGPT can give you a short cut but it won't build you the the muscles.

I think of an art teacher I had once who said he used to be terrible at drawing hands until he bought a book with 100 pictures of hands shown from various angles and drew each hand in the book 10 times. Magically, after drawing 1,000 pictures of hands, he wasn't bad at drawing hands anymore.

The reason OP could bullshit a decent essay in a 30 minute bus ride is because OP knew how to write and craft a well-reasoned analysis thanks to a childhood full of writing and critical thinking practice.
