“You know, I actually believe you,” Sam allowed after a long second of glaring. “Which is deeply alarming, considering how much of your connective tissue I’ve touched in the last 4 hours. Now you wanna tell me what Russoff’s men did to you that made it look like you got mauled by a bear?”
Steve flinched, then breathed the memory down to size. “Not a bear,” he murmured. “Wolves.”

Summary: The true effects of the super soldier serum are top secret. Only a few people know the truth - the serum turned Steve Rogers into a werewolf. But when they are clearing out an AIM base, that decision is taken out of his hands.

Summary: Tony smelled… off. Wrong. He smelled strange in a way that would justify the cold, Steve thought. There was a metallic layer to blood that Steve was used to smelling, and in Tony, that was distinctly not present.
So, Steve concluded, Tony must have had an iron deficiency. Something to that effect, at least. He became faint without warning, he was chilly as the dead, and he was as pale as any man Steve had ever seen.

Summary: Tony had been in quite a few fucked up situations in his lifetime. Being stuck in a cave together with Steve who had been turned into some kind of half wolf half man, while trying to maintain his secret identity, sure took the cake.

He howls just once before he slips off the bed and slips out of his skin.
nah since marvel is trending again I’m going to say it again louder for the people in back — canon steve rogers would never have chosen an “idyllic 1950s white pickett fence life” because the only place that man belonged was a picket LINE. the whole point of his character was that his work was never done. there was always going to be another oppressor, another bully, another person who takes advantage of the underprivileged for him to stand up to. from the moment he gained consciousness he, a chronically ill son of a working class mother living below the poverty line, used his voice and his body to protect & fight for what he believed in. I’m not sure there was ever a time pre-super soldier serum where he didn’t have a black eye. he could put the shield down all he wanted but he could never retire from being steve rogers — someone who never once turned a blind eye, who never once wanted a “reward” for his work, who never once abandoned his friends. this isn’t up for debate. this is almost a century of comic book & film/animated precedent. he may have been a man out of time, but in his words “it’s tempting to want to live in the past. it’s familiar, it’s comfortable. but it’s where fossils come from”
Summary/Prompt: Charles and Raven are engaged, but to Charles Raven is more like a little sister than a lover. He thought he would keep it to himself and let things be, until he meets Erik, the talented opera singer, who then manages to get a spot in Charles’ life, teaching him not only about opera, but something dark and tempting.
Charles looked around him carefully, holding a white sheer shroud around him as the misty night air closed in around him. He wasn’t at warm home, with his warm fiancee. The blue eyed man touched the cold reflective door, looking back at his reflection. Tonight… he would embrace a coolness.

It wasn’t like Raven was making him unhappy. His young, blonde fiance loved him dearly, and he loved her as well. But unlike his fiance, Charles only saw their love as a family form; Charles loved Raven like a sister. If their families didn’t insist on them two marrying, Charles would have continued to try to avert the younger girl’s affections- perhaps to the friendly scientist boy at his university.
For a long time, Charles convinced himself that he was happy with this relationship. Everything seemed warm and real.
