Came across this art installation, Liza Lou's Kitchen, at the Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC. It's a kitchen made of tiny glass beads, that artist Liza Lou did, taking 5 yrs. to complete, from 1991 - 1996.

My favorite part is the sink.

Some of the contents of the north room of a blacksmith's house on Concord Road in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1785.

I'm turning the entire probate court inventory/assessment of his belongings into an (approximately) 15-page zine. So far, I'm about halfway done.

I love this project. It feels like I'm snooping through someone's house or poking around an estate sale, and I'm having a lot of fun researching the objects and looking up period examples in museum collections and antiques auction sites.

i think there'd be alot less discourse around "fanfic vs literature" if more people treated fanfiction as it's own medium with it's own strength and weaknesses, rather than comparing it to traditional literature, because most of what i love about fan-fiction just straight up does not work in original fiction. at all.

every day i get a little madder about the ‘dream job’ narrative… all i want is to have a job that benefits society somewhat, doesn’t abuse me, and lets me live a happy life outside of my job lol. jobs should not be (and arguably can’t be) cosmic destinies and identities
