“what if you’re autistic & just undiagnosed” is one of the more frustrating ways my parents could have admitted now that i’m 24 that i’d had teachers in the past think i have a learning disability ............ but didn’t do anything.

like it COULD explain some things like i’ve been awful socially or just hyperfixate on things. / reread the same things, few interests outside the stuff i hyperfixate on, social trouble since Young, curiously comorbid with ehlers danlos syndrome etc etc etc . and im having severe difficulty adjusting to a lot of stuff now that i’m older and doing anything unless im alone is so *difficult.* but at the same time can also be explained with my social phobia / ocd / depression cocktail + my parents were just always dysfunctional. ??

im just sad that we’ve stigmatized it so much that my parents would repeatedly assure themselves there’s “nothing wrong with me” whenever i would do anything or bc i was “””advanced””” in some areas. meanwhile i struggle to even count on my fingers so lmao anyway.

guess im just salty abt ableism no matter if i do or don’t end up having it.

Only read Six of Crows weeks ago but I am still so jarred by Kaz Brekker & the fact that I saw a shamelessly crippled protagonist who is not vilified for his disability & also rejects a cure. 

Disabled writers in fantasy / YA fantasy are so important and seeing similar rep even when i had an undiagnosed illness while I was in the age group the books were geared for would have been amazing. :’)
