#and this is not exclusive to children for sure #disabled people. people outcast from society. regular adults dealing with things they cannot control.#entire populations of people at the whims of a few select very powerul individuals.#this is how i feel about my dog—she is so entirely at my mercy and thats terrifying in a way #children experience worries the same as anyone. loving parents and family can offer a sense of protection and control of a scary situation #and this is idyllic!!#but it is not inherent. and it requires someone to come save you.#its very scary and hard to be a child and experience everything for the first time and never know what will happen #why else would there be so many stories of child heros?#and of course—this child is in all of us and everyone can relate bc we were all children once
