Look, we all know this is true. But there isn't a SOURCE for this, and the graph itself is basically illegible beyond "ooh colors". If we want to be good stewards of our informational resources, we need to cite our sources.

From a reverse image search, I found the website Show Your Stripes, run by the University of Reading in the UK, which is likely where the above graph originated. It provides temperature data for various regions of the world from approximately 1900-2025. For example, here are graphs for Canada, India, and Papua New Guinea:

All clearly show a sharp rise in temperature beginning around approximately the 1980s, which corresponds with the graph in OP's post. But now we know where this data came from, and we can verify its validity accordingly.

I wanted to add a footnote to this for future people who want to post things like this graph. The "redacted" area at the top of the original image is where the "Temperature change in -country-" label would be. I suspect whoever did that looked up their own location, but then thought they were protecting themselves by pulling the location off. The low resolution could have also been an attempt to "cover tracks," or it could have just been ignorance and a desire to upload a smaller image. Please do not ever do this when you are posting statistics. If you are truly, truly that afraid of your location being given away, it's best to simply not post. Alternatively, post a link to the website (as the second post did with the Show Your Stripes link), and tell people to look up their own location. Explain in text what they are looking at. OR, leave it to someone who is willing to post graphs from multiple locations, again as the second post did. Misinformation - and more importantly, mistrust - is sown when garbage graphics are posted publicly. (And: If you're deliberately sowing mistrust with this method, fuck off forever, thanks.)

I don't have a problem with people listening to music per se, but I do have a problem with the music industry exploiting & mistreating artists.

Personally, I abstain from all music in order to keep my hands clean but really music should just be illegal outright to protect musicians from abuse.

Okay, I'll go and visit your doll collecting friend IF you can promise me that the dolls aren't secretly people. Don't laugh, I'm not being ridiculous. This is the fourth friend with dolls we've visited and they always turn out to be people. I'm not exaggerating! There was the little kid who shrunk people down and put them in her dollhouse, there was the old woman with the porcelain doll collection that were all haunted with the spirits of dead people, there was your cousin whose action figures came to life -- yes that last one counts! I don't care if the action figures weren't previously human, coming to life as thinking feeling beings makes them people!

Honestly this is getting to be a bit much. If the dolls are gonna be people again, tell me. I'm starting to think I'm not ready for this level of friend visitation commitment. I'm beginning to regret starting to date you so soon after my previous boyfriend mysteriously disappeared on the very day that you started your funko pop collection.
