Does your OC still talk to their parents?

the thing about mothers in fiction is that a lot of fandoms seem to be under the impression that the worst thing a woman can possibly do is be a bad mother. like they can forgive deadbeat dads easily but the moment a woman is a bad or even mediocre mother she's the devil incarnate to them. and then you're like "i like her and i think she's interesting" and they immediately go "oh so you think it's okay to be a bad mother (which is the most evil thing a woman can be)". and don't even get me started on how they react to female characters who are bad stepmothers
Sandwiches are such goated foods…. Everyone share their favorite sandwich….
Just a casual reminder that posting on the internet about how you would want to do physical harm to members of the US government is something that they can (and will) detain you over, so just be careful what you say in public spaces like, uh, on Tumblr.
I have got bad news for you about how connecting to the internet works and how corporations will respond to requests from the government.
this is your semi-regular reminder that tumblr has cooperated with the fbi to hand over user information in a very public way at least once. and that's not the only way the feds can collect information on you either
Connecting with the internet, unless you have gone through extreme lengths to hide this information, inherently means that you are giving a private company information about where your computer is. Those private companies will absolutely hand that information over to police/government. Some will require a warrant, some will answer to just a request. While never posting personal information or pictures of yourself is a good policy because it protects you from being doxed, it does not protect you from the cops/government.
If the cops ask Tumblr who a user is, Tumblr gives them your ISP information. If you are using a VPN, then the cops will ask your VPN provider, and (unless you chose your VPN specifically because it doesn't comply with US warrants, and have kept a close eye on if it's changed policy/ownership) your VPN will then give your information to the cops, sometimes including all of the sites you've accessed through the VPN if your VPN provider keeps logs.
Your access to the internet is not anonymous and it is important to me that you know that. Ditto your text messages and messages through (most) other messaging platforms.
AND THEY KNOW ALL YOUR WORKAROUNDS.
NO SAYING "I'LL X THEM IN MINECRAFT/ROBLOX" THEY KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!
india is not a democracy anymore.
everyone needs to hear about the situation in india right now. the youth of this nation are going through hell and back to protect the foundations that our country was built on in the first place, while the adults who are supposed to actually be in charge try to silence our voices.
NEET, which is an exam taken by millions of students per year and is the ONLY gateway for medical admissions across the country, had its papers leaked. so many took their lives because this exam meant everything for their future. and NTA, the agency who conducts this exam, was not held accountable.
there was national backlash. cockroach janta party (initially a satirical political party formed by abhijeet dipke in retaliation to the remarks of the chief justice of india calling the youth "cockroaches" and "parasites of society") started protests at jantar mantar, demanding the resignation of the union education minister, dharmendra pradhan. the movement also asked for ten million inr (~100,000 usd) in compensation for the families of students who died by suicide and wanted NTA be held accountable.
sonam wangchuk, a climate activist and education reformer, also went on a hunger strike at jantar mantar to protest against this corruption in india's higher education system. his fast began on june 28, demanding the resignation of the union education minister. his fast lasted for 20 days until delhi police FORCIBLY removed him and admitted him to safdarjung hospital on july 18.
because of this, cockroach janta party announced "chalo sansad," a march to the parliament beginning on june 20th, 9:00 am ist. but the police seems to be responding with water cannons, mobile jammers, and baton charge. all of this, because of a peaceful protest led by people no older than 30.
and yet there has been absolutely no indian media coverage about a movement that spans the entirety of this nation. so, please, if you see this, keep talking about us. we will not let those old bastards stoop any lower than they've already had. we will not let them ruin our country any further. we will not be silenced
Booktok controversy that's broken containment: a writer told one of her friends the concept for a book, and he took that concept and AI-generated a book based on it and then gifted to her like 'there you go, sweetie, you're welcome ;)'
BRO WHAT.
it's worse. He was a tiktok follower who heard her tell her audience a funny story from her husband. So not even a friend. AND it was personal to her relationship with her husband!! AND he said if she isn't GRATEFUL he's gonna publish the book!!!!
Happy migraine and headache awareness month. This may seem like a minor terminology nitpick, but it’s a serious misconception about migraine: nausea is an actual migraine symptom, not a thing that happens because of the headache. When people with migraine experience nausea during attacks, it’s not because the pain is so bad (the idea that migraine is always excruciatingly painful is also a myth), it’s because migraine causes a lot of symptoms that aren’t pain, including nausea.
This goes for other symptoms as well: although pain can definitely contribute to people’s experiences of these symptoms, fatigue and brain fog are actual migraine symptoms, not just pain symptoms.
This is also your friendly PSA that nausea is not a normal tension headache symptom, if you frequently get nauseous with your headaches, you almost certainly have migraine.

reminder for the queer community, esp white queer people (because a lot of people actually don’t know this)
nb stands for not Black, specifically in the phrase nbpoc (non black people of color), this is a racial activism term. use enby to abbreviate nonbinary
as well as this, something I learned more recently is that poly is short for polynesian and to avoid confusion or appropriating terms, polyamorous should be abbreviated as polyam
the words we use matter! it’s a simple change to make but it makes a lot of queer people of color more seen and uplifted

doctor: cure is simple. go see clown
chronically ill patient: but doctor, I'm seeing a clown right now and he's not helping
I’m more than a little concerned at seeing recommended tumblr communities with names like “queer teens” or “nonbinary teens” and advertising themselves as a space for teenagers as young as 13 to make friends with each other. I don’t wanna sound like anyone’s dad here, but this is… not safe. Anyone can join those communities, they’re not private unless you make it private. You can’t trust that everyone in there is actually a teenager, so please don’t advertise your age or other people’s ages like that in online spaces. You can absolutely make private communities or discord servers with trusted friends, but not public communities that anyone can join, especially if those communities are specifically targeted at marginalised— and therefore vulnerable— teenagers.
this disability pride month lets be kinder to folks with moral ocd . no more “if you really care about this minority , you’ll reblog this post” , “someone will die if you don’t reblog this” , etc etc , and all other kinds of guilt tripping reblog bait . at the VERY LEAST tag your reblog bait so we can filter it out and avoid unnecessary spirals . it’s 2026 , we need to move past using guilt to get engagement .
Something really needs to be said about the amount of queer shows with queer fandoms that are weirdly apathetic towards racism and misogyny.
Let’s do some rent lowering gunshots
I think that more Nazis dying can only be a good thing. I will never apologize for wishing death on a nazi. They deserve it. Creating a martyr is not a reason to concern troll. The world is better with dead Nazis.
