I have the worst book hangover ever
I picked up The Poet Empress on a whim and devoured it in basically one night. Now, i don't really know what to read TT. All the other books on my TBR are coming out in Nov 2026 at the earliest. I don't really know what to do with myself cause exams are over. More writing ig.
To be the judge of whether it is necessary for someone to die, one must love them first. But once there is love, it becomes very hard to still want them dead, does it not?

Absolutely obsessed with this book, I don’t think I’ll ever get over this read! Highly, highly recommend if you enjoyed The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. Cunning characters, politics, immersive worldbuilding. Definitely a fun read :)
The Poet Empress discourse on the former bird app has gotten out of hand. The author had to reactivate her account to explain her novel to people dragging her novel for being historically inaccurate. It started with someone saying they where dnfing the book for not portraying Chinese culture "accurately". Then others started to pile on.

absolutely DEVOURED the poet empress today. incredible stuff. a story that NEEDS to be first person pov because no one outside wei yin's head knows a) what the hell she's doing b) her husband's fucking trauma

I definitely find Allison really interesting and fun to write. She has the original Alice's same curiosity and straight man tendencies but also reminds me a bit of Violet Baudelaire.
