he can't help but laugh at her exclamation, his nose having been buried in more korean homework handed to him by angelfish in preparation for the select! tv show. he'd gotten away with his mediocre korean skills until now, the company having believed he'd have months, if not years, to learn the language properly. now, with the filming starting in less than two months, angel was stuck cramming like he hadn't since high school and was despising every second of it.
bitna, on the other hand, was a welcomed distraction. she was much more entertaining than korean workbooks and, quite frankly, much more appealing to look at. still, he pretends that his work is oh-so-important, leaning forward ever so slightly and looking up at bitna through his eyelashes.
"oh, you're gonna cry and keep me away from trying to study? that doesn't seem like a very nice thing to do, does it?" he questions with a smile, not meaning a word he says. leaning just a bit more, he reaches forward and takes her hand to pull her just a little closer. "just when i was getting to the important parts too. i guess i can spare a little attention, just for you."
â  bitna couldnât help the indignant look that crept onto her face as he laughed at her. it was more a show than anything else as she was putty in his hands, as much as she hated to admit it. she could pretend to be upset with his quips or actions but all it took was one of his sly smiles or the sickeningly sweet words heâd shower her with and her act would crumble around her. pathetic? maybe. maybe she was a fool, she had heard the rumors but she was also a romantic at heart, a true optimist. he couldnât be all that bad, right?
his words pulled a scoff from her lips but any protests from her are soon silenced as he grabs her hand and pulls her towards him. she could feel her cheeks begin to turn red, cursing that she would give herself away so quickly. she was also sure he would take note of how easily he could get her flustered. in an attempt to conceal her embarrassment, she resorted back to indignation. her eyebrows were raised in a challenge, though she didnât pull away from his grasp.Â
âoh, just for me, hm?â she questioned, her pout becoming more prominent as she leaned back to look him in the eye. âafter you laughed at me, when all i wanted was to spend time with you?â she teased back, hoping that, for once, he would be the one at a loss for words or blushing.Â
