Taking It Back || A Mirror Lake Starter

Lilith had listened to what the rest of the group thought about Oliver’s careless mistake that lead to revealing her through identity to the media; Morgan had to keep Luke from taking a flight to kick Oliver’s ass as he was convinced that the rapper did it on purpose because he wanted to control some aspect of her life, she knew Wyatt and Jazz thought the exact same and even Owen did, even though he had mostly kept his thoughts to himself to prevent Lilith of having more stress into her life. But as days passed and she got the time to slow down, rewind and examinee her relationship with Oliver, she finally realized that her friends were right; Oliver had always been pushy when he wanted Lilith to do something for him, he never let her say no and perhaps now that he saw she was happy living life the way she wanted perhaps he thought he could affect her to take back control over her but if that was his plan, it had backfired.

As the singer walked off stage with one of her best friends, she couldn’t help but laugh softly at Wyatt’s bright smile as he ordered a glass of water and said something to her, “Just what the doctor ordered right? You did wonderfully Lilith.” He said and she smiled brightly at him. Lilith was extremely grateful that Wyatt was the one guy in her group of friends that liked to dance and had no issue with dancing in front of a crowd. His moves during her songs only made the experience much happier as the duo interacted on stage and laughed eventually at silly things.

“Thank you… but hey, it was only improved a lot by you and your moves. You made the show amazing… thank you for that…” she said softly and smiled at him, hugging him for a moment before pulling back and ordering water for herself. “Honestly with you up there, I felt like myself again for the first time in weeks… it’s been difficult.” She said softly and shook her head before looking at Owen who was talking to her brother.

“I feel guilty, Wyatt… Owen kept himself from seeing Ali for two weeks… and for what? All of this was stupid…. None of this would’ve happened If I just… I don’t know, I guess I should have realized a long time ago that Oliver isn’t really a friend.”

“Shhhh stop complimenting me on your night!” Wyatt frowned and waved towards her. Wyatt was constantly surprised by women’s, especially Lilith’s, insistence on turning attention from the person that deserved it most of all. It was her set. He had helped her with choreography, and that was all. She had a lot of directorial work with, and she had a lot of work into it. Sure he did work hard, and he was proud of himself. However, it wasn’t about him. It was her music! She had made all of that hard work become something! “I did enjoy dancing with you again. I missed doing that. i work out with the boys too much. I should start dancing with you again.”

The way that Lilith looked towards Owen hurt his heart. The six pack had been separated because Oliver decided to be an asshole. He had been infuriated when Lilith had to give in and go into hiding. It wasn’t fair that Lilith’s life had been upended by someone that actually didn’t give a damn about her, because if he did he would have been far more careful about keeping his secret. Oliver only cared about his image of her.

He shoved Lilith softly before shaking his head, “Stop that. You trusted an ex. You should be able to do that. Exes shouldn’t be assholes who only care about themselves.” He rolled his eyes before turning to her. “I’m not going to baby you of course. I do think you should think about what Owen sacrificed only so you remember just how much he cares about you. However, other than that you couldn’t have expected this. He would have done this no matter if you trusted him or not. You’re just a good enough person to believe that he might not do something that awful. People aren’t going to remember him well.”

Taking It Back || A Mirror Lake Starter

Pissed off was a term that felt too small to describe the rage Lilith felt inside her the moment she discovered what her ex-boyfriend had done; one interview, a careless attitude with a sense of entitlement on Oliver’s part blew Lilith’s cover as a songwriter in the business. He said a little too much and now everyone knew who she was, people seemed to be going crazy trying to find videos of her and pictures of the couple back in the day, everyone seemed to be intrigued and fascinated with the story of the woman who was muse and writer to many of Oliver Stone’s best songs.

Her phone was blowing up with calls, texts and emails of people trying to get a statement from her about her romantic and professional relationship with the famous rapper which she kept ignoring, including the ones where Oliver was trying to reach out to apologize for what he had done. In the next week even reporters visited Mirror Lake to try and find her but luckily locals, especially among witches, were very protective of their own and never let one find her whereabouts. For about two weeks, Lilith avoided getting out of her home as much as she could; mostly she kept herself locked down in Owen’s home because she felt much safer with him.

Jazz and Luke would constantly take over her shifts in Blue Moon both behind the bar and on stage, attention was the last thing she needed. But as the days went on, the witch realized that Oliver somehow always found a way to shift her life around even when she didn’t want to and that light up the rage inside her usually forgiving heart.

She needed to take her life back.

That day Lilith talked to Luke and Jazz to tell them she was going to make an appearance at the bar and that she wanted to sing, it took both of them by surprise. The brunette put on makeup for the first time in weeks and changed into a nice outfit before heading out to the bar to tell her employees the plan for the night; Thursday nights were usually a little more chill than Friday’s and Saturday’s people liked to dance but mostly they wanted to sit around, drink, talk and enjoy whatever music they were playing.

She had planned thirty minutes of entertainment for the clients visiting Blue Moon that night, the woman even arrived a few hours earlier so she could have a quick rehearsal with the band and her team and after a few hours of prepping her voice and laughing with the people around her he time had finally arrived. As people started to show up and realized that she was finally there eventually the place became even more packed than usual which made her a little nervous at first but she couldn’t let her anxiety and Oliver’s controlling ways to get away with it.

The witch stepped up on the stage and sat down on the stool in the middle looking back at the musicians and smiling a little before nodding so they could start playing. After thirty minutes of pouring her heart and soul on stage Lilith stepped down with a small smile on her face as she looked down at the ground for a moment before stopping by the bar and taking a small breath as she sat down.

“Just what I needed”

Wyatt had never quite understood why Lilith stayed with Oliver for as long as she had. When he first met Oliver and watched him interact with Lilith, he was sure that the relationship was a short term thing. Why would someone stay with someone that was so different to them. Oliver would show up to group events in Gucci, Dolce and Gabanna, and Chanel. He’d name drop people all the time, and want to buy expensive things. Lilith always showed up in something casual, talked about the people closest to her that mattered, and only wanted to buy what she thought was important. They were just very different people.

When they split up, Wyatt had been relieved. Finally, there were no more fights about what their dreams were about. Finally, Lilith was let loose from her boyfriend’s desires. She could chase after what she wanted without interference.

Oliver coming back into Lilith’s life was a very unwanted situation. Wyatt had hoped that he’d frankly, “fuck off for the rest of eternity”. But now he brought more attention to Lilith than she wanted. She had to isolate herself for multiple weeks only allowing limited access to make sure that paparazzi didn’t get something.

While Lilith seemed certain that Oliver made a mistake, but Owen and Wyatt and others were convinced that he did it on purpose. If he was going to slip up, he would have done it earlier. This was on purpose to try to break up Owen and Lilith by putting incredible stress on it.

Instead it brought them closer.

Wyatt knew Lilith wouldn’t take that shit lying down, and so he started to prepare his muscles for dancing. When she texted him about a new set, he was more than down to help her achieve her dreams. He got a team together and helped her achieve her vision without having to meet with too many people before hand.

He was so glad to be there for Lilith while she shone her own light, but as she finished singing Wyatt could feel the sweat gathering on his back. He rushed to a seat and ordered a water. When Lilith sat next to him he grinned and held up his glass of water, “Just what the doctor ordered right? You did wonderfully Lilith.”

Kat let out a chuckle as Wyatt mentioned that he was a bit of a troublemaker. The Witch didn’t know if she would call the Warlock and his friend’s troublemakers, but they certainly had a flair for the dramatics. When the six of them walked into a room together, everyone took notice. “Well, you ought to stay out of trouble, Mr. Fisher,” Kat said with a charming smile, “the future priest of Full Moon shouldn’t be running around causing mayhem.”

As Wyatt asked what it was that Katherine was saving for, she let out a bit of a sigh. Kat was a private person, and her dreams, she mainly kept to herself. Perhaps it was the atmosphere, or maybe it was the fact that Wyatt Fisher was so damn likable, but Kat shrugged her shoulders and then smiled. “I want to open a restaurant. Someplace downtown…” she trailed off a moment, then turned back to the Warlock.

“When I first arrived here, I had to work a lot. I ended up in the kitchen at the Golden Harvest…and I learned to cook, and I learned I was good at it.” Kat sat up and wiggled her fingers a bit. “Being a Kitchen Witch has its perks. But…yeah. That’s the dream. Maybe I’ll get there before I die.”

Picking up her wine glass, Kat took another sip. “Now that I’ve told you my dream, you’ll have to tell me something about you that I don’t know.” Kat arched a brow, wondering if Wyatt would take the bait. Though they chatted and flirted, in truth, the Witch didn’t know much about the man sitting across from her, other than the small bits of information passed in idle conversation.

“Ooo,” Wyatt gently pretended to slap himself,”right in my pride. How could you?” She was right that the future High Priest should be less troublesome. He did worry about that a bit. However, it wasn’t like Leon or Laurel ever ceased to have fun. They just found ways to get away with it as they got older. “I mean you’re right that I should stay out of trouble, but we’re friends! You’re supposed to support me!” He joked. 

He watched her as she seemed to decide whether to tell him with excited warm brown eyes. She kept everything so close to herself that he knew that it was unlikely that she was going to tell him, but he really hoped that he’d get a small chance to see into that wall that she kept between herself and everyone else.

When she admitted what it was, Wyatt lifted an eyebrow. He was a little surprised, but at the same time he didn’t know why he was. As long as he had known her, she had worked with food. “That’s.... really interesting. A restaurant? Do you know what kind of restaurant that you’d like to open? If it’s interesting enough, a loan might be a good option for you. I’d love to see more witch or warlock owned restaurants in town.”

Wyatt felt that it was more than fair to trade information to her for her offering what she did, “Ooooh I’m such an open book. Suddenly regretting that.” He laughed as he thought about what to tell her. “Well... I’d really like to build a really cool tree house in my backyard. I always thought that was so cool, and now I have my own place. I have to do it once I pay off my loans.”

Of course I want sweet tea,“ Alison said with a sassy laugh as she hopped into the kitchen. Owen smiled warmly at just how comfortable the girl was around his friends. They had all accepted her so quickly, welcoming her into their lives. Owen had watched how Luke, Morgan, Wyatt, and Jazz had all stopped drinking as much when Alison was round. Morgan and Jazz cut back on her cursing, Luke and Wyatt kept board games and child-friendly things around their homes, Lilith brought her animals around because Alison adored them so much. It reminded Owen of just how lucky he was to have the friends that he did.

"That’s probably for the best,” Owen said with a laugh. “Morgan and kitchen appliances are not a good mix.”

Owen gratefully took his beer, taking a sip as he watched Alison frown for a moment. “No. Well, mom doesn’t. Dad lets me help, though!” The Warlock looked over at his friend and shrugged his shoulders. “I get to do a lot of things here that my mom doesn’t let me do. She still treats me like a baby sometimes.”

“Maybe she’s not ready for you to grow up yet?” Owen asked, not wanting to talk negatively about Becca.

“Maybe,” Ali said before turning to Wyatt, “Can I help with the party Uncle Wyatt?” she asked warmly, though as Wyatt began to speak, the door opened, and Morgan called out.

“Where’s my niece?”

“Aunt Morgan!” the girl said happily, quickly running from the kitchen to the living room where Morgan was.

“After the Holidays…” Owen said with a sigh, “I’m going to ask Becca for more visitation. I’m starting to worry that she’s not happy at home. I also took your advice…I’m gonna tell Alison about her powers…I’m just waiting for the right time. I’m going to ask Lilith to help.”

“That’s my girl.” Wyatt chuckled as he headed to the fridge to fetch Alison’s drink. As he began to put together her drink a pang in his chest sharpened. He ignored it knowing exactly what it was about.

Ever since Owen started bringing Alison around Wyatt started feeling resentful and jealous of Owen. It shocked Wyatt at first, because he had never felt such negative emotions to his friends. But over time he realized it was that Owen had something that Wyatt wanted.

He thought he was going to get it with Emma. That was why he saved back so much money, but then she was gone and he was left with a gaping hole in his chest. She didn’t just take the love that he had for her, but all of the hopes that he had with her. He was left with an empty home- his worst nightmare. He didn’t just cry over her. He cried over what he didn’t have.

Alison had made Wyatt realize that those underlying hopes had made him start to lash out at Owen, because Owen had a child. Owen had a little girl. He had his own biological family, and Wyatt desperately wanted that. He wanted it more than he wanted to be a fireman. He wanted it more than to be the coven priest. He wanted it more than he wanted to be fit.

After a while, he stopped feeling resentful, but occasionally jealously would strike him when he didn’t expect it.

He turned to her with a warm smile and gave her the drink.

He then grabbed a beer for himself and turned to Owen, “Yeah, she’s not the house wife type.” He said with a certain degree of pride in his voice.

When Alison admitted that her mother didn’t let her help with cooking, Wyatt frowned a little, but he didn’t say anything. It was never okay to insult a kid’s parent no matter how silly their rules seemed to him. “Yeah, you can help kid. But go say.... never mind.” He laughed as Alison ran to Morgan.

He turned back to Wyatt and nodded along with him. “I think that’s a good idea. She has seemed a bit... blue about her mom lately. Not that I can blame her. It’s a good idea to have Lilith help. She’s really good with kids, and Lilith will be able to know what it’s like to be a girl at that age. So she might see something coming that you and I wouldn’t. I think it’s going to be good for her in the end though. She deserves to know the power within herself. How do you think you’re going to explain it?”

As The Robbins Heiress was brought up, Morgan lightly shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know if Cassandra is secretive…I think she’s shy. Both Cameron and Rosie are such loud personalities, I think she is the type that steps back. Plus…your energy is loud too.” She smiled warmly at her brother, “maybe you need to approach her with a bit more softness, and she’ll open up a bit. I like her, and she’s always been willing to talk to me. Plus, she buys things from my shop, which a lot of people from New Moon don’t.”

Morgan could almost see the wheels turning in Wyatt’s head. He liked to be aware of everyone and everything, and the fact that he couldn’t pinpoint Cassandra’s motivations made him uncomfortable. The Witch often wondered if it had something to do with the early years of his life. Morgan knew enough about what he had been through to not bring it up, but any traumatic incident was bound to leave its marks.

“You’ll have to ask Luke,” Morgan said with a soft smile. “Though, I mean all the covens are pretty much in the same position. It won’t be long until our parents retire, and we’ll all have to step up and take a role in the Coven. Power gets passed down. We all know that.” Though Morgan knew that she wasn’t the High Priestess, there would be responsibilities given to her. She would still be seen as someone with influence and sway, something she wasn’t entirely comfortable with, at least not yet.

“Though…I don’t think you have to worry about Luke taking control and then suddenly becoming buddy-buddy with Cameron. They don’t like each other. I fear that if the two of them talk for longer than five minutes, fists will start flying. I’m surprised that Luke even showed up, though I think Leon probably forced him. Owen’s here for Lilith, obviously. The Half Moon and Full Moon Coven will always get along. That bond will only grow stronger when you and Luke take your places.”

Morgan brought up a good point. Wyatt knew his energy could be quite a bit for certain people, and the one time he tried to talk to her he had come on a bit, or a lot, strong. If Cassandra was shopping at Morgan’s store, it was a good sign that she didn’t consider herself above being around mortals, and if she was nice to Morgan, then maybe she wasn’t as bad as the other two. Morgan’s judgement meant a lot to Wyatt. She was as cautious as he was, and if Morgan thought that the Heiress wasn’t terrible.  Maybe Morgan was right. He sighed and took a chair nearby, “I hate when you’re right- especially when I’m wrong. I’ll try again this time not so strongly. She might be shy.”

Wyatt sighed and rubbed the back of his head. He didn’t like knowing the Heiress’s motivations. He didn’t like playing a game with an unknown element doing moving around on the board in a way that he couldn’t predict. She was a risk that Wyatt didn’t know how to plan for. He never liked unknown elements. It reminded of his childhood where he walked around on eggshells never knowing when or if his father was going to be upset. He didn’t like the discomfort of someone walking around his life changing things without understanding why they were there.

Strangely, taking power didn’t scare Wyatt as much as he was sure it scared Luke or Morgan when she thought she might have had to taken it on. Wyatt had always felt like a leader, and he grew under Full Moon’s wings. Full Moon had given him his life. As soon as he found out that he could take the job on, he felt like some part of him was finally coming together. He was sure it was arrogant, but another part of him felt like he was coming home once he took the job.

“You’re right I won’t have to worry about Luke. He really does hate Cameron.” Wyatt chuckled as he turned to her. “Speaking of Luke. I wanted to check in. Are you two doing okay? He’s treating you right, right?”

Lilith was happy that she finally found one of her friends in the crowds of people that were invited into Cameron and Rosie’s home, most of them were New Moon members whom had a huge difference in their believes with the other two covens. The woman was rather shocked and surprised as the invitation to their party got to her home; she wasn’t quite sure what Cameron Clark and Rosie Grey were trying to do inviting the other two covens into their own home. Everyone refused to go, specially Luke and when Lilith had told Owen that they had to assist he reluctantly agreed and now he was somewhere else probably hiding and waiting for the time the two of them could leave that terrible party.

“As fun as sucking up to vampires can be… How about you? Have you had to deal with Luke yet? I’m assuming he’s going to be difficult about this. I’m so glad he’s not part of my coven right now.” Wyatt said jokingly with that signature bright smile of his never leaving his face.

“Well, it’s not as terrible as expected… I suppose everyone is behaving in order to keep the peace and everything in this house in one piece.” She said with a small laugh before bringing the glass up to her lips and taking a sip. “Luke is Luke, he rolled his eyes and loudly said he wasn’t going until Mom practically told him he had no other choice. Owen wasn’t happy about coming either, Morgan either… I suppose they all are hiding somewhere waiting for the proper time to leave.” She said with a small smile and a shake of her head.

“I can’t imagine how things are going to work out once both Cameron and Luke take the lead… You know my parents and the Clarks never really liked each other but at least they knew how to be amicable for appearances and keep things… somewhat smooth between covens; I don’t see that happening with Luke and Cameron. Sometimes, it worries me a little… they could both learn a thing or two of you.” She said as she looked at Wyatt with a smile.

Wyatt found that the children of the coven leaders were far more fanatic than their parents. Cameron Clark was more public about his distaste towards humans than his mother and father were. Wyatt was wary of humans, but he tended to be more worried about witches and warlocks that ran about doing what they wanted with little oversight. Lilith and Luke both had a distaste for Cameron and Rosie, but they also never agreed with him or Morgan on things. They were always down the center about things.

He knew that meant that many of the members could not meet in the middle with other people. Half-Moon and Full Moon currently had a great relationship due to the current priestess being an incredible woman, and the future priest being his best friend. Strangely, it was Half-Moon and New Moon that was likely to have the roughest relationship. Wyatt and Cameron had yet to butt heads though it was clear both had a hard time seeing in the middle. “I think our parents are the reason that a fight hasn’t broken out.” Wyatt joked as he grabbed a drink.

As Lilith complained about Luke, Wyatt sighed, because he had the same concerns. Though, he didn’t mention it to Luke, because he understood Luke’s distaste of Cameron. “Maybe once Luke figures things out he might mellow out. Or maybe we’ll get lucky and New Moon will choose someone else. Though, no one in New Moon is all that likeable.” He laughed and turned to Lilith, “I think for now let’s just try to be in the middle, so maybe we can help with people making decisions. Speaking of making decisions.... how are you and Owen going?”

“And what exactly are you chastising me for?” Morgan said with a chuckle as she started to move bottles out of the way, looking for anything that struck her fancy. “Is it for leaving the party? Is it for going through their liqueur cabinet, or is for sticking my tongue out at Cameron when he said ‘Morgan I’m glad to see you could make it away from your mortal tourist trap to attend.’” The blonde rolled her eyes as she landed on a bottle of Grey Goose.

Turning around, she smiled at her brother before reaching out to pinch his cheek. “You look so handsome tonight. You clean up real well, Wyatt. You look like a proper Head Priest.”

Morgan had never expected to be inline for the High Priestess position. Traditionally, that role belonged to Jazz, as the Full Moon Coven had been led by the Taylor’s since the Covenant of the Moon had split into three factions. When Jenna passed, and Xavier had stepped down, power was given to the Thorne’s, suddenly making it a possibility. Only Morgan didn’t want that responsibility. After seeing what would become of her magick as she aged, the Witch didn’t want the additional stress of being High Priestess. Wyatt, on the other hand, was a perfect choice.

Morgan opened the bottle with a smile, “So, how are you holding up?” Carefully she poured a bit of vodka into her empty glass that once contained her jack and coke. “A lot of the attention seems to be focused on the 'future’ leaders tonight. Are you feeling the pressure Mr. Full Moon?” the blonde wiggled her eyebrows and then grinned.

“Ummm let’s say stealing drinks.” Wyatt grinned as he watched her look around for something interesting. “Though, I want it known I’m not going to chastise you for responding to him being condescending. He asked for it.”

At the end of the day, that was one of the biggest things about Cameron that drove Wyatt up the wall. Cameron believed that he was smarter and better than everyone other than his model girlfriend and maybe the Robbins Heiress. He seemed to look down on anyone who didn’t believe what he did, and no matter how intelligent the other person was they were never going to be good as the Gucci Twins in Cameron’s eyes.

Wyatt wasn’t going to stand out, because he knew that he benefited from Cameron not taking him seriously. However,sometimes he wished that he could shake Cameron and show him that the world was more complex than he realized. He didn’t think that he could change his mind about being New Moon, but at least he could show Cameron that people that didn’t believe what he did could be intelligent and not mislead. They might just have different values.

With a sigh, Wyatt leaned against the counter, “Honestly? I don’t know how I feel. Cameron and Rosie both make me uncomfortable, but now there is the unknown element of the Robbins Heiress suddenly showing up. At least I know what Cameron and Rosie’s values, standings, and goals are. But the Robbins Heiress is so secretive. I can’t pinpoint her, but....” Wyatt turned to her, “At least I don’t have to worry about Half-Moon and their politics. I mean... I hope not. Do you know what is going on with Luke with all of that?”

If there was one thing that Mirror Lake was known for, other than the Covens and the powerley, it was how welcoming they were to other Witches and Warlocks. In most cities, no matter what country, the magickal population did their best to stay hidden and quiet. No one approached other Witches, even if their power was evident, or spoke about their craft to others unless it was during a circle or a rite. In Mirror Lake, it was nothing for another person to look across the room and give you a knowing look or a smile. There was a community, despite the number of Covens and differences; a community that took the time to make others feel welcome.

Niall was still a bit surprised that Wyatt had noticed him, even if it was his job. Yet, perhaps that man was just a very observant. If he felt it was his duty to make sure no Warlock or Witch went unnoticed, he was bound to see Niall eventually. It also didn’t help that Niall was over six feet and tall enough to stand out like a sore thumb.

“My girlfriend,” Niall said with a nod of his head, “is very close with the hosts.” The Warlock smiled softly, not wanting to get into any intricate details. Though Wyatt seemed friendly enough, Niall wasn’t exactly an open book. Extending his hand, he pointed to where Cassandra, Cameron, and Rosie stood speaking happily. He was sure that Wyatt knew who Niall was looking to, especially since he was the future High Priest of the Full Moon Coven. It wasn’t as if Cassandra wasn’t well known herself.

“Are there many members of your Coven here tonight?” Niall asked casually. “I think I spotted your current Head Priestess and her husband earlier. I’m still trying to learn who is who, though I don’t know if that’s exactly possible. This is an extensive community of Witches and Warlocks. It’s quite amazing, actually.”

Wyatt wasn’t surprised that Niall’s now girlfriends had been the reason that he came. They had been stuck to each other like glue ever since Niall had arrived in town. Much like Niall seemed to be the Robbins Heiress was incredibly private. She only seemed to come out of hiding when she wanted something. Wyatt had a hard time pinpointing anything about the woman. This was especially exacerbated by the wild rumors that had flown about when she and her brother suddenly disappeared.

This originally didn’t matter much to Wyatt, but now Cassandra was making relationships with more people. She was starting to take on the Robbins’ legacy, she was befriending the Gucci Twins, and now she was friend with the unknown man in town who seemed to want to avoid being around people. The two of them were becoming important, and Wyatt wanted to know what he needed to think about them.

“There are a couple of us.” Wyatt turned around and pointed to a short beautiful blonde woman beside a taller grey haired man with glasses, “That is my mother and father who are the heads of my coven currently.” He pointed to Morgan who was now walking towards Joseph, “That’s my sister Morgan Thorne. She’s the owner of Thorne and Vine.” He then spotted a short near white haired woman who was tossing back a drink before talking to a woman who was clearly her girlfriend. He pointed to her, “That is Alexandria Garver. She mostly keeps to herself. Now... I know another is here I just don’t know what color of hair she has today.” For a moment he looked around before he pointed to Jazz who was leaning on Eric, “That is Jazz Taylor. Her mother was the Priestess before my mother, but.... she lost her in a tragic car accident. We have another member, but he doesn’t like leaving the house.”

He turned to Niall before saying, “Full Moon is a lot like a family due to us being so small. I’ve noticed that you’ve not joined a coven. Have you considered one? I’m not trying to advertise. I’m just curious.”

Hosting || A Mirror Lake Starter

Much like Cameron, Wyatt Fisher knew he was bound to take responsibility and leadership of his own coven at some point of his life and even though there was a big difference between their beliefs and opinions, unlike Luke Blackwood, he smart enough to keep things polite between them. The blonde watched as the muscly man approached her with a smile glued to his face, it seemed like nothing could take that off his face ever; the witch couldn’t remember seeing Wyatt ever frowning but then again, other than her own friends and family; Rosie Grey didn’t really pay much attention to those things that didn’t require her absolute dedication.

“Yes, I am Ms. Grey. It’s a wonderful party. You and Mr. Clark have a beautiful taste in decor. It’s very gracious of y’all to invite us. I appreciate the chance to be welcomed into your home. And may I say, without any intention to offend or step on Mr. Clark’s toes, you look beautiful tonight. You look quite regal.” He said with his words so diplomatic and formal; the woman could tell he was all trained and ready to take the leadership of his own coven.

“Oh thank you, Wyatt. You’re very kind; I’m sure Cameron would be proud of that rather than offended… though he doesn’t need a reminder, he knows what he has.” She said with a small laugh, but a cocky grin on her face and she glanced back at her boyfriend whom was in deep conversation with another New Moon member. “You look quite sharp tonight, I’m happy to see you and all your group accepted the invitation; it’s nice when we are able to set our differences aside and celebrate together… the union between witches and warlocks, no matter their coven, should be our primary priority… after all, we all have to look after each other, am I right?” She said and smiled softly at the man.

The blonde wasn’t lying, if anything her mother’s death had taught her was that there needed to be a stronger union between their kind but she also knew that them finally sharing the same point of view regarding mortals was key to be successful at that. The witch was convinced that with time, they would see just how Mortals couldn’t be trusted.

“No date, tonight?” She asked softly and smiled, trying to make a small conversation with the man.

Wyatt tended to like to play the dumb man who was in over his head when it came to coven politics. Cameron and Luke had been fighting since they were children. Somehow Jazz had managed to avoid the in fighting as she was growing up, but she didn’t want to be a Priestess after losing her mother the way that she did. Wyatt had managed to fly under the radar of Rosie and Cameron both due to them probably not thinking that he was all that important up until Morgan turned down to be the priestess.

He had a feeling that Cameron and Rosie both didn’t think much of him. He had purposefully not made waves, but they didn’t know that. They probably thought that he was soft and that he was going to be easy to sway and read. He got the impression from other people that Cameron thought that he was smarter than everyone else, and Wyatt wanted to use that to his advantage. As long as Cameron and his company thought they were smarter than him, then they didn’t consider him a problem.

And they focused on Luke instead.

“I’m sure he is well aware of the royalty he resides with.” Wyatt grinned as he turned to Cameron with her. The fact of the matter was that Rosie was indeed beautiful in the stereotypical way that white models looked. Wyatt personally found it a little boring in it’s perceived perfection, because what was there that was new. However, he knew that everyone around town talked about how beautiful that she was, and he knew that it was a surface level conversation to take up space.

The mention of a unity between covens was boring and never meant anything at the end of the day. Coven leaders promised each other it, but none of them meant it. Rosie and Cameron were likely saying it for the same reason that he was in a suit inside of their home. It was to look good. No one meant anything. The stuffiness of all the lies made Wyatt a bit annoyed. “I agree that we should all protect each other. Protect life, liberty, and equality.”

As she asked about a date, Wyatt’s annoyance flared up a bit more, because it felt like a reminder that his relationship with Emma had not worked out. However, he was sure that Rosie would not pick at something on purpose for no reason- at least he hoped. Either way, he wasn’t going to rise to it or get upset by it, “I’m too busy with working on being a firefighter and clearing up my loan to my new home to care about having a date. Plus, I feel like dates are just distractions, and I wanted to give you and Cameron my attention.”

Bottom’s Up || A Mirror Lake Starter

Wyatt Fisher was a flirt, everyone in Mirror Lake knew that. No matter what room he entered, he seemed to gravitate toward the center, much like his adopted sister, Morgan Thorne. They were both charming, friendly, and personable, and while Morgan was much like the soft glow of the sun, Wyatt was a firecracker. Every morning when he entered the Silver Chalice, he had a witty line and a smooth smile. Kat knew that she wasn’t the only woman that the Warlock openly flirted with; in fact, it seemed like any pretty woman that conversed with Wyatt was usually charmed quite quickly.

“Mmm,” Kat said with a laugh, “something other than an iced caramel macchiato?” The Witch had worked at the Silver Chalice Cafe since first arriving in Mirror Lake, and knew everyone’s order by heart. Sometimes she even had it ready before the customer walked in the door, knowing their morning schedule by heart.

As Wyatt began to talk about his work at the fire station, Kat listened carefully. She had a knack for being an avid listener, taking in small details that some might let go in one ear and out the other. “Yes, the gang is all back, aren’t they?” the Witch said with a laugh. “Hopefully, the six of you know how to stay out of trouble.” A teasing smile curved the corner of Kat’s lips as playful brown eyes shined under dim lights.

“Oh, I’m fine. Working my ass off, like usual. Saving and scrimping.” Long fingers trailed the rim of her empty wine glass, almost lost in a daydream. Ever since buying her home, Kat had been saving to open her own restaurant in Mirror Lake. The married couple who owned the Silver Chalice had offered to give her a loan, but Kat wanted to be able to do it herself as much as she could.

“I decided to treat myself to a glass of wine and a nice night out, but I forget how popular this bar is now that Lilith and Luke run it.”

“You know me. I like an adventure when I can.” Of course Kat remembered his order. Every time he walked into the cafe, she asked him that was what he was going to have. Unfortunately for her, he wasn’t like some of her customers who ordered the same thing every day at the same time- like the Robbin heiress. He sometimes wanted to try something new to keep her on her toes, and to a certain extent it was to get a little more attention. She had to talk to him if he didn’t order the same thing every day. Then he could ask how she was doing.

He couldn’t help but grin as she suggested that they stay out of trouble, “Us stay out of trouble? Clearly you don’t know me.” With a wink, Wyatt pulled back and took a sip of her drink smoothly. He knew he was being over the top with her, but he also knew that she didn’t take him seriously at all. If she genuinely thought he was flirting with her, he wouldn’t wink at her and act like he was. But she had made it clear in the past that she was too busy for his shenanigans.

Not that he minded. He respected people that didn’t have time for romance in their life. He especially respected women, because he knew how much pressure society put on them to get married and other stupid stuff like that.

He watched her run her finger over the white edge of the wine glass, and he wondered where she had gone. In silence he watched her brown eyes slowly fall away from him. “Yeah, they have really drawn a lot of attention to it. You know I don’t know why I’ve never asked. But... what exactly are you saving for?”

Uncomfortable || A Mirror Lake Event Starter

In the three months that Niall had lived in Mirror Lake, he had learned quite a bit about the town and the covens that practiced there. The Full Moon Coven was lead by Ana Thorne, a very feminine and earthy blonde woman whose daughter ran the large metaphysical store downtown. They were bright and warm, believing that humans and mortals could live side by side. The Half Moon Coven was run a larger-than-life Warlock and his wife. They had several businesses around town, and their two children, Luke and Lilith, operated the Blue Moon Bar. Their beliefs on mortals mirrored Niall’s on most aspects, believing that certain mortals could know the secret of Witchcraft. Then there was the New Moon Coven, lead by the enigmatic Rachel Clark. Niall had heard plenty about the New Moon Coven, first from other locals, and then from his girlfriend, Cassandra, who was a member of the frowned upon coven.

At first, Niall had been taken back by New Moon, and more than that, he had been confused as to how Cassandra could be a part. They were very traditional when it came to mortal and witch relationships, and Niall, who had a mortal sister who he loved, felt uncomfortable around them. Though the more Cassandra talked about the Clarks and Greys and how they cared for her and given her a safe space and confidence, Niall softened toward them. They couldn’t be terrible if Cassandra cared for them.

Still, the Warlock’s discussion with Cameron had been a bit intense. He was warmer than Niall had expected, but their conversation seemed more like a job interview than a friendly chat. Niall was reminded that Cassandra had mentioned that her friends were quite overprotective, and he tried to remember that as he gave Cameron honest answers. Though he couldn’t help but think that meeting the Witch’s parents would much less stressful than meeting her two best friends.

After Cameron departed, Niall quickly sipped on his drink, welcoming the burn in his throat. He had expected a bit of a reprieve, but suddenly he felt someone tapping him on the shoulder. He half expected to see the tall, blonde modelesque Rosie Grey when he turned, but instead,  he was greeted by an incredibly muscled African American gentleman with a warm smile.

Niall extended his hand, shaking it firmly. “I’m Niall Thomas,” the Warlock said, his body relaxing a bit. “I’m surprised I’ve gathered any attention. I try to remain in the background a bit, but it’s nice to meet you as well.”

The fact of the matter was that the man hadn’t garnered any attention at all. In fact, Wyatt was continually perplexed by the man’s capability to fly under the radar. He almost never saw him around. The only time he saw him was with the therapist who seemed like she couldn’t make up her mind what she wanted or believed, or he was with the man with the scar around his neck that was an alchoholic that was pushing himself to death. Wyatt was continually confused at the man’s friend choices.

Wyatt just noticed everyone who came into town. His parents and he thought most other coven priestess or priests considered it their jobs to watch after the magical community. It was their job to make sure that no witch or warlock ended up homeless, in a dangerous position, or completely alone. Wyatt took that job very seriously, and so he watched every witch or warlock that came into town and stayed for more than three months.

He had considered introducing himself in the past, and maybe draw the man closer to at least half-moon. However, he had been having to deal with his best friends lying to him a lot lately, and he had been preoccupied with finding out what was going on with them. Now that everything was out in the open, other than whatever the hell Jazz was doing, Wyatt was able to focus on his future instead.

“Don’t worry. You haven’t done anything to draw attention to yourself. I’m just the future priest of Full Moon, and I like to make sure every witch and warlock is okay. I try to make sure that I know if anyone is falling into homelessness, a dangerous position, or something dramatic like that. I just noticed you, because it’s my job to. Don’t worry about it. You’re very much a wallflower, my friend.” He smiled before grabbing a drink for himself. “So what brought a wallflower like you to this party?” Wyatt knew, but he didn’t want to freak the man out.

Day Thirty: How do they react to praise? How do they react to criticism? 

Wyatt adores praise, and he always takes it well. He loves getting compliments, and he could probably live the rest of his life living off of compliments from people that he likes. He tends to have a bit of a big head, so it’s hard to find a compliment that surprises him.

Criticism is harder for Wyatt than most, because he is so sure that he is great. Not only that but Wyatt likes to consider himself an incredibly moral and good person. This makes it very difficult for Wyatt to hear criticism. He can become quite defensive at first, but after a second he will listen.

Like all magical born people, Wyatt believes in an energy that connects everyone. He doesn’t consider himself Wiccan or Pagan though. He considers himself someone who just appreciates nature and values it more than most people seem to.

Day Twenty-Eight: How does your character smell? Do they wear perfume or cologne? 

Wyatt doesn’t wear cologne, but he does were body wash that is pretty strong. His body was smells like orange and cinnamon, and that is how Wyatt smells most day. He has a very warm scent that is very easy to trust and melt into.

Odd Man Out || A Mirror Lake Event Starter

Morgan Thorne stood in the corner, trying her best to stifle a yawn. It seemed like every Witch and Warlock that resided in Mirror Lake had managed to get an invitation to Cameron Clark and Rosie Grey’s Housewarming Party. All around her stood men and women in their most elegant black and white attire. Even Morgan herself had pulled out one of her best black dresses. It was much more lowcut that she usually wore, and along with the slit up the side that showed a healthy amount of her leg, the Witch felt more exposed than she had in quite some time. It wasn’t just the outfit, but the fact that there were only a handful of Witches from the Full Moon Coven that had received an invitation. It was a stark reminder to Morgan that she was one of the odd ones out.

Morgan peeled herself off the wall and began to walk around the room, looking for a familiar face. Any longer in that corner, she might have fallen asleep. Though Rosie and Cameron were wealthy and extravagant, their party felt restrained. As she made her way to the open bar, the blonde wished that she had skipped the party. If it hadn’t been for Lilith and Jazz begging her to go, Morgan would have skipped the entire thing. Wyatt was the future High Priest of the Full Moon Coven, so it was his responsibility to attend. Morgan’s mother was there as the current High Priestess. Morgan has no obligation, and she was more of a thorn in Cameron Clark’s side than anything.

At the open bar, Morgan ordered a Jack and Coke, quickly downing the glass and requesting another. She couldn’t spot any of her friends, and so she began to walk around the rather large mansion absentmindedly. It was a beautiful home, and Morgan could at least admit that. Yet it seemed so cold, so unwelcoming, almost like the homeowners themselves.

After a bit, Morgan found herself in the kitchen standing in front of Cameron and Rosie’s wine cellar and liquor cabinet. “Of course they’d keep the good stuff for themselves,” she said with a small chuckle. She didn’t blame them, but if they were going to serve cheap vodka, she would have at least hidden the expensive stuff from the guests.

Ever since Wyatt saw the invitation his parents received, Wyatt couldn’t stop laughing every time he thought about it. Ana and Liam were gracious coven leaders, and Wyatt knew that once his and Morgan’s names were at the bottom of that invitation they were tied into going to the housewarming party. Morgan kept texting him angry texts about not wanting to go, and Ana and Liam kept warning the both of them to be on their best behavior.

At the end of the day, Wyatt couldn’t blame Morgan for anything that she did that night. She was an adult, and Wyatt wasn’t going to expect an adult to do whatever her parents thought were best if it went against her moral system. Neither Morgan nor Wyatt liked either of the hosts all that much. Wyatt wasn’t sure what her personal problems with them were, but both of them had made it clear to their friend group that Rosie and Cameron were no gos with parties and the like.

Unfortunately, Wyatt knew that he didn’t have any choice but to be friendly with both of the hosts even if he found them to be morally questionable at best. Everyone knew that Wyatt, Cameron, and Luke were to take the priesthood of their respective covens. While Luke seemed unsure about what he wanted, Cameron and Wyatt both were sure about their futures. That meant for Wyatt that he had to treat Cameron with respect and at least some degree of human courtesy.

While one would think that Wyatt would be reluctant, angry, or uncomfortable walking into the Clark-Grey house, Wyatt walked in with a certain amount of swagger. The fact of the matter was that Wyatt knew that both Cameron and he both had to treat each other with some degree of respect, and Wyatt wasn’t going to ruin a night that could be possibly entertaining by acting like a baby about everything.

After talking to Rosie, Wyatt went to find a drink, and as he did so he saw Morgan walking into the kitchen. He followed her and grinned as he found her starting to go through their drinks. He leaned against the wall where neither of the hosts could see him. “They are the Greys and Clarks after all.” He laughed. “I’m here to chastise you by the way if anyone asks.”
