"After The Day Off" Chapter 3
The drive home is deafening in its quietness. My ears ring as tears spill down my cheeks, rolling through already dried ones. I arrive at home, thankful my parents are too busy arguing to notice my appearance, let alone my arrival.
I make a B-line for my room, shutting the door quietly and collapsing onto my bed. What am I going to do? Ferris, basically just lost his girlfriend and now his best friend (me) is avoiding him. Im really just adding onto his problems, like always, I'm the drag.
I cry into my pillow for a good, long while. Eventually I get ready for bed and lay down. At this point, Ive cried all the liquids out of my body and have no sense of what to do anymore. This is it... Ive given up. Im Cameron Frye, nothing ever works out in my favor, so why try any longer.
I end up falling asleep, my mind clear of dreams tonight.
Ferris' POV-
I lay in bed, still dumbfounded from what had transpired in the past three or four hours. What's school going to look like? Sloane and I are practically over, and Cam is no doubt going to avoid me as much as he can for as long as possible.
I let out a shaky breath, letting my eyes water. He's my best friend... and I lost him just like that. I cry a little, letting the feeling out like my mom always tells me to do.
He never even let me finish my thought. I know I said that we cant be together due to the way gays are viewed, but he never let me tell him the part about how I feel the same. Never let me tell him how much he matters to me... how many times ive thought about what his lips would feel like against mine.
Let's just say I didn't get much sleep that night.
I wake the next morning, tired and not ready to face the day. I decide its probably in my best interest to let Cameron have some time for his own thoughts, so Ill leave him alone.
I dont talk to Cam for like, a week. School is a nightmare without him... and Sloane, I guess, but things between her are rough right now. Everyone's asking me what happened, and it sucks because I cant tell them. This isn't normal for us at all. Its like my whole world came crumbling down.
I cant focus during class. My mind unable to concentrate on anything but the way Cam looked with those tears in his eyes. Words cant describe how badly I wanted to wipe them. Make them go away. Tell him I dont hate him and its going to be fine. But right now.... I cant. At least I dont think...
Literally just started watching this, and I was so lost the first couple of episodes, but why is it so good?!?! There's really weird stuff going on half of the time, but like, if you can look past that then it's literally the best anime I've ever watched!! 10/10 recommend.
Alright. The last one only got 5 likes, but I'm hoping the more I post, the more popular this will get. I'm probably delusional, but I don't care. Anyways, I made Cameron a Beatles fan in this one, which I know isn't Canon, but it's a headcanon me and my friend have (which is who I'm writing this for), so idc.

"After The Day Off"
Chapter 2-
I sit in my car, parked in the school parking lot. I think about all of my life choices and wonder how in the hell I got here. This is a mess! I shouldn't have said yes to going over to Ferris's house, but I did anyway. It was dumb and irrational, obviously I wasn't thinking. How could I have been?
I pull out of the parking lot and begin the drive. I decided to drop my school stuff off at home first, which is a good idea since I need some Ibuprofen stat! This headache is killing me, and it definitely won't go away on its own. Especially if I'm gonna be at Ferris's house.
I take a moment to collect myself, to prepare myself for anything dumb Ferris might have planned. There's really no telling what he's going to say or try to convince me to do. It's always a wildcard with him (he's probably plotting right now).
When I feel that I'm somewhat ready to go, I get back into my car and head over to his place. I make sure my car isn't parked in the way of anyone else's before walking up to ring his doorbell. To no one's surprise, Ferris opens the door immediately.
"Hey, Cam! God, thought you were having second thoughts." He pokes, dragging me inside by my arm.
"No... No second thoughts. Just some mental preparation." I respond, finally feeling my headache dissipate.
"Mental preparation? What's that supposed to mean? You're talking like I'm gonna make you do something crazy."
I scoff, rolling my eyes.
"You always make me do something crazy. Let's be honest with ourselves, Ferris."
Ferris just brushes me off, like usual. Too cocky to admit when I'm right more than half the time.
"I don't know what you're talking about, man. Let's go, I got something cool to show you." He drags me up the stairs to his room.I shake my head in exasperation.
"You're impossible, Bueller." I follow him to his room and can't help but notice the smile on his face. He was really excited to show me whatever this thing is, huh?
"So... what is it you wanna show me so bad, Ferris?" I ask, smirking softly.
I sit down on the edge of his bed as he grabs the object. He holds it behind his back and walks over to me with a shit eating grin. I roll my eyes.
"Just tell me!" I laugh.
He pulls the object out from behind his back. My eyes light up when I see it.
"You didn't!" I look up at Ferris with confusion and excitement.
"I did" He laughs, holding out the album.
It's the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. It isn't the most popular album ever, but it's a good one nonetheless. I mean who's not going to agree that "A Day in the Life", "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds', and "She's Leaving Home" are some of the best songs ever written.
"Why'd you get this? You don't like the Beatles, Ferris." I tilt my head, brows furrowing in confusion.
"Yah, you're not wrong. I may or may not have gotten it for you...?" He laughs, giving me a punch to the shoulder. "As sort of an apology for your dad kicking your ass."
I pull him into a hug, smiling. I realize how forward my action are though and pull back.
"Sorry, man. I'm just really happy." I chuckle. "Thanks, Ferris."
He smiles at me. A lopsided grin that doesn't quite reach his eyes.
My heart flutters and my cheeks heat up. I can't bring myself to break eye contact, just looking into his eyes. What scares me the most is that he's not looking away either... just holding my gaze. I let out a shaky breath, watching his eyelids droop a little and his eyes flick down to glance at something I hope isn't my lips.
"A-anyways... uhm, about Sloane." I clear my throat.
Ferris blinks, snapping out of his own trance.
"Yah, what about her?" He asks, acting nonchalant.
"Well, you said earlier at school she was mad at you. Ever find out why?" I ask, sitting back down on the edge of his bed.
It's comfy, and I find myself thinking about what it would be like to share it with you. I shake the thoughts out though, knowing it's wrong.He collapses back onto the mattress.
"Yah, actually. She says I don't pay enough attention to her? Bulshit, huh."
I nod, "Yah, some bullshit." I get quiet.
"She acts like I didn't just get her out of school for a day off! Like I didn't take her to a fancy restaurant and sing on top of a float for her." He rants, and I listen.
I roll my eyes.
"This is why I don't waste my time with girls. It's like, no matter how much you do for 'em, it's never enough."
"Exactly!" He says, throwing his hand up. "She spends more time with you then she does with me."
I freeze. Does he think I'm trying to steal his girl? Oh god, maybe he was thinking about all the ways he could kill me earlier... I'm so dumb! Always ruining the moment, making things worse, and giving the wrong signals.
"I'm sorry, Ferris. Look, I'm not trying to steal Sloane from you." I try to explain, but he cuts me off when I go to speak again.
"No, don't apologize, Cam. I know you're not." He sighs, "I'm mad at Sloane, not you."
I exhale in relief, my heart rate slowing once more.
"She goes out of her way to talk to you and spend time with you all the time. I have to seek her out when I wanna spend time with her, and it's exhausting." He rants, and I have no choice but to listen.
It's not like I don't want to, I just don't like talking about Sloane. She makes my whole situation more complicated then it has to be.
"I see the way she looks at you, Cam. She looks at you the way you look at m-" He stops.
I sit there for a moment before my heart sinks and my heart rate picks up once more. I swallow thickly. There's no way I heard that right... He's finally found me out, hasn't he? It's over...
"The way you look at... me." He finishes, taking a moment to process.
I sit in silence, unsure of what to say. Should I deny him, gaslight him, confess? I ultimately opt to stay silent.
He turn his head in my direction, looking up at me with those big, brown eyes. Those eyes hold all the answers it seems, and it hurts. It hurts because I can't look into them how I'd like to.
I let out a breath, cheeks red and palms sweaty.
"Don't look at me like that..." I whisper.
My voice is more broken then I'd like it to be, and I realize it's because I'm battling tears. I'm pathetic, and I can't stand to know you're seeing me like this. Specifically in this situation.
"Cameron. I-I... we cant." He sits up, turning to face me.
"I know! I know we can't, Ferris." I flinch, wiping my eyes. They're hot and red rimmed now.
"H-hey, Cam... I didn't mean to-" I cut him off.
"I try so hard everyday to act like everything's fine! Like everything's not falling apart as we speak." I sniff. "I'm tired of being the third wheel. Tired of ignoring my feelings just because I'm the main character's side kick."
I grip my hair, full on crash out happening. Break down mode activated.
"I'm just trying to understand what I am to you at this point." I sigh. "What you are to me? I don't mean to cry, Ferris. I'm just so overwhelmed and confused... and you have no idea what I feel like right now do you?"
He sits and stares at me. Dumbfounded by whats spilling from my mouth right in front of him.
"You don't know what it's like for me to sit and watch you everyday... pretending we're more than friends." I stand up, leaving the album on your bed.
I can't be here anymore. I don't want to be here anymore. There's so many things I want to say, but I can't because it'll ruin everything more than it already has been. He can't see me like this.. He shouldn't have to.
"Maybe one day I'll forget about this... let the feelings pass." I head towards the door. I pause for a moment, battling my thoughts and feelings.
"Seeyah later, Ferris." I decide.
With that being said, I walk out, closing your door. I get in my car once I've left your house and drive home. I'm ready to spend the rest of the day in bed crying and sleeping... not that it'll help though.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off: Ferris's Sick Day
Ferris's POV:
Okay, so I know this is gonna sound like a lie.... but I'm sick. Yah, yah! Say what you want, but I'm not joking this time. Flu season is hitting hard this year, and unfortunately it's wiggled it's way into my system.
So here I am, lying in bed, miserable. It's even more miserable because it's a weekend. I'm not even missing school! My mom is having a girls vacation with Jeanie, and my dad is on a business trip, so I'm alone for the weekend. I decide to call Cameron for company.
"Pick up!" I groan as the phone rings, the sound making my ears buzz. I wait for what feels like ages before he finally picks up.
"Yes...?"
I smile, immediately speaking.
"Heeey, Cameron, babe~! What's up?" I give my best 'I'm not sick' voice.
I await his answer, ready to bribe him into coming over if I have to.
"Very little... what do you need, Ferris?"
I sigh, trying to come up with a thought through the feverish fog clouding my brain.
"Well, I have the flu... for real this time though! I promise I'm not lying! Look, everyone's gone and I'm really bored here, so I was wondering if you'd feel like coming over??" I ask, my tone hopeful and unintentionally mischievous. Or intentionally mischievous, you decide.
"For some reason, Ferris, I don't believe you. There's no way you're actually sick. You never are."
I can almost hear the way he rolls his eyes on the other side of the phone. It makes me a little angry.
"Look, I'm not lying this time, I swear, Cameron!" I pause. "Fine. I guess I'll just lie here in bed all weekend, sick and lonely." I go with the guilt trip method, knowing it always works.
"No, Ferris. I'm not coming over."
I huff, sneezing and groaning. Sure, it's overdramatic, but it's not entirely ungenuine. After all, I do have a fever of 102°F, and my sinuses are having a civil war as we speak.
"Cameron, pleeeaase! I'm dying over here and I have no one to keep my poor, sickly soul company!"
He's gonna have to say yes this time.
"Okay! Fine, I'll come over. No sappy stuff though, got it?!"
I nod.
"Yah, Yah! I got it."
~~~~~TIME SKIP~~~~~
I hear the doorbell ring and I make my way downstairs. My vision goes black quite a bit and my limbs are shaky and weak. A fever will do that to you. I answer the door to see the one and only Cameron Frye.
"Hey, Cameron... come in!" I smile, holding the door open for him.
"Damn, Bueller... you look like shit."
I roll my eyes good naturedlly.
"Yah, cuz I'm sick. I told you I'm not lying." I close the door and lock it behind him, walking upstairs to my room.
"I would hang out in the living room, but my bed is more comfy." I say, going up the stairs slowly.
Cameron's POV:
"It's okay, Ferris. Sorry for callin' you a liar. You really got it bad, huh?" I sigh, watching him go up the stairs.
I can't help but notice his unsteady movements. Like he could fall at any second.
"Here, Let me help..." I take his free arm, the one he's not using to hold the railing with.
I guide him slowly up the stairs and to his room.
"You okay?" I ask.
"Yah, I'm okay. Thanks, Cam, you're a real one."
I smile at him, giving him a pat on the shoulder. He climbs into bed and I sit on the edge next to him. I reach out to feel his forehead.
"God, Ferris! You're burning up." I exclaim in surprise, not expecting his fever to be that high.
"Can I get you something? A drink, or an ice pack?" I try to offer him something to help cool him off, but my concern turns to confusion when he shakes his head.
"No, I'm okay. I just need someone to talk to right now..." I nod, scooting closer.
I take his hand in mine, brushing my thumb over the soft skin.
"Okay, that's alright. What do you wanna talk about, Ferris?" I wait for him to answer. I can tell he's going to get sappy, so I brace myself.
Ferris's POV:
I take a deep breath, looking up at Cameron. My eyes are watery and bloodshot.
"How amazing you are... always doing what I tell you to do..." I sniff, squeezing your hand.
"Yah, cuz you guilt trip me into do-"
"Ah, ah, ah~ Ssssshhh, that's irrelevant..." I cut him off, pressing a finger to his lips. They're soft.
"Don't make me force you into cuddles..." I smirk deviously.
"Ferris, please don't. The last time you made me do that, you grabbed my ass."
I laugh weakly.
"Just for that, I demand them now." I laugh as he awkwardly climbs under the covers.
"This is what you get for bringing that up." I huff, rolling onto my side.
"Ferris... do we have to spoon?"
"Yes! Now do it." I threaten. "I'm sickly and weak, Cameron! I crave attention in these trying times!" I feel Cameron wrap his arms around me from behind, his breath tickling the back of my neck. I chuckle and close my eyes.
"I guess it's not so bad..."
He snuggles closer, and I smile.
"Told you."
So... it's cringe. I know. But if I have to be subjected to it, so do the rest of you.

"After The Day Off"
Chapter 1-
Cameron couldn't sleep that night. How could he when with his dad screaming at him? We won't go into detail, but let's just say his dad wasn't too impressed with his Ferrari wrecked in the forest behind their garage. His cheeks are stained with tears as he lies awake in bed.
"Who cares what he thinks... He deserves it." Cameron huffs, body humming with residual energy and nervousness. He decides to call Ferris.
Cameron's POV:
"Ferris, pick up!" I sit on the edge of my bed, unable to keep completely still as the phone rings for what seems like forever.
I run my fingers through my hair, letting out a soft groan. I'm tore from my thoughts when a 'click' is heard from the phone and an all too familiar voice rings out.
"Hello~?" That tone is unmistakable. Who couldn't recognize Ferris Bueller's voice?
I take a deep breath, realizing I'm not quite sure why I called Ferris...
"H-hi, Ferris... Look, I'm not sure why I called you, if I'm being honest. I just got the scolding of my life and I don't know what to do..." My voice quivers a little and I internally cringe.
I wait in silence for Ferris's reply, scared he's going to think I'm dumb or overdramatic. Why wouldnt he think that? I'm a complete pushover half the time, and when I finally stick up for myself for the first time in ages, I end up going right back to Ferris. Ferris! Out if all people!?
"Cam, it's gonna be okay... Sure, your dad's angry and probably going to ground you, but you'll live. I promise, man. Were all gonna screw up at some point, and when you do, you just gotta roll with it." I listen to Ferris.
At first I didn't know it was him with the way he was talking... all kind and not like he's planning something. That's a first.
"Yah, you're right, Ferris... I'm sorry I called so late at night, you must be tired after today." I pause for a moment, then go to speak up, but I'm cut off by Ferris.
"Yah, I am actually. Don't be sorry though, Cam. You can call me whenever, yah?"
I smile and nod at the offer, although he can't see me.
"Yah... sounds good. Thanks, Ferris, seeyah tomorrow." I say gently, my voice tired. I yawn.
"No problem, man. Seeyah tomorrow." And with that, he hangs up.
The tension in my body slowly eases as I relax against my soft mattress. My head hits my pillow and I find myself able to drift off. I take advantage of the luxury, closing my eyes and allowing my breathing to even out.
~~~~~TIME SKIP~~~~~
The next morning was hell. Honestly, what did I expect? I take a shower, brush my teeth, brush my hair, get dressed, and then I get my school stuff around. Did I mention I have a raging migraine? I drive to school, surprised my car even started this morning, and park it in the parking lot. I step out, taking a deep breath, and look at the school.
"Hm, didn't notice how depressing this place looks... same, school, same." I begin walking, entering the building.
The school is filled with 'Save Ferris' posters and donation jars for his kidney replacement. Wait, kidney replacement? God, how far did this guy go! I find my locker and put my stuff away. I grab my books and pencils, turning around to meet Ferris's face... very close to mine.
"Told ya' you'd live~!" He taunts, giving my shoulder a light punch.
I can't help but smile, rolling my eyes in mock annoyance.
"Yah, guess you were right. Like always." I sigh, starting to walk to class.
Ferris may be cunning and manipulative, but he's not a bad friend. For some reason, today feels different... like Ferris is being nicer, gentler. Maybe he's just sorry for me? Yah, that's why! He's sorry for me, and he's not at all staring at me with those big, brown eyes right now.
"Cam, you okay?" Ferris's voice cuts through my thoughts, snapping me back to reality.
"Huh? Oh, yah I'm fine. Just thinking about the test I have to make up in trig." I lie. My palms sweating and my stomach turning.
Why do I feel so nervous every time he speaks? Every time he looks at me? He has a girlfriend, for crying out loud! Not saying that I like him or anything though...
"Yah, I gotta make that one up too. Hopefully I get sat next to Sloane." He says. I nod, unable to help the feeling of disappointment creeping into my body.
Eventually we have to part ways, and we say our goodbyes for now. I take a seat in chemistry, in the back, as per usual. People copy off my notes and shoot paper spit balls at me, also nothing out of the ordinary. Don't get me started on the 'Save Ferris' rally either. I've been harassed for money like, one hundred times and it's only first period!
We all meet up once lunch hits. I go get my lunch while Ferris sits with Sloane. Of course it's PDA paradise with those two, which makes me sick to my stomach. It never has before, bit it does now and I don't like it. I sit back down with my lunch and eat quickly. I'm not talked to once, the most interaction all lunch being tiny glances from Ferris. He has this weird look in his eye, but I brush it off.
"Bye, guys." I say bluntly as I stand up, throwing away my lunch.
I gather my things and walk to fifth period early. Why do I feel so angry? Upset even? Just the sight of Ferris happy with Sloane makes my blood boil and my eyes want to cry all at the same time. My head hurts, I'm confused... I can't like him like that can I? It's wrong... I still feel an attraction to girls, don't get me wrong, but there's something about Ferris that makes me nervous. Something about him that makes me smile when he talks, and makes my cheeks turn red at anything he says. God, get your head in the game, Cam! I sit down in fifth period, my heart pounding and my hands sweaty. I'm unable to focus for the rest of class, scribbling absolute nonsense in my notes. That's how the rest of the day pretty much goes too. I meet Ferris at our lockers, swallowing thickly.
"Hey, Ferris. What's up?" I ask, cursing myself at the way my voice wavers slightly.
"Nothing much. Sloane's mad at me for some reason... anyways, what happened earlier at lunch? You seemed off."
My breath hitches and we make eye contact. I go to say something but no words come out. I don't really know how to tell him, so... so I won't.
"I just had a headache and the lunchroom was loud. I've had one since this morning and it hasn't really gone away." I explain, which technically isn't a lie, right?
Ferris doesn't look like he's buying it, but he doesn't push me for further explanation, which I'm forever grateful for. I exhale slowly, grabbing my stuff and walking to the exit with him.
"So... how do you think the test went? I definitely bombed it." I laugh a little.
Ferris smiles and replies, "Honestly, Cam? Same." His laughter rings in my ears, making my stomach feel funny and my cheeks hot.
His voice is like heaven... but it's wrong.
Just when I thought I'm finally going to be able to rid myself from these thoughts, driven by Ferris's presence alone, he invites me over to his house to hang out.
"Sure, sounds like fun!" I say with an enthusiastic smile.
Every major injury I’ve had was caused by clumsiness; I split my head on a bench because I tripped on my shoelaces, I’ve fractured fingers slamming them in car doors and falling down the stairs, and gotten a concussion scootering full speed straight into a metal pole because I wasn’t wearing my glasses.
as a little child I once let go of the chains on the swing and flew off. I hit my head on the wood thing on the edge of the playground and I don't rlly remember what happened next
I was adopted as an embryo, meaning embryo me was sitting in a freezer for 7 years before I was transfered to my mother and born. Pretty legitness idk👍

I went sledding and hit a speed bump then went flying and as it turned out the snow was ice and jammed my wrist and my nose was bleeding and now I’m scared of sledding.
one time i cut myself with a plastic spoon and an apple. on the hand.
i went through a phase a few years ago where i just wouldnt stop making apple pie. i mean- i would make apple pie every time we ran out of the previous apple pie. so one day i decided to use the apple cutter which had probably been sitting in that drawer for more than ten years. anyways, it broke and i cut my hands real bad. both of em!! i have scars on both palms to remind me never to fuck with apples. and a memory of a particularly vicious plastic spoon.
Uhhh i can physically remove my arm from my shoulder socket. It's not painful not do i have to grab and pull it with my other hand to do so, it's just like using a muscle. Yeah, i think it's pretty neat :]
I've only ever cut myself accidentally with one knife, the exact same bread knife about 5 times over many years, and I have matching scars on 4 different fingers in similar positions from where I've nicked myself. Stupidly enough I still use the knife lmao

okay so this one time i went skiiing and caught so much speed and i couldn’t stop and i went out of control and slammed into this treebranch in such a cartoony way like my arms and legs few past the branch but the branch was holding me back cuz it slammed my stomach yk? skis went flying wverywhere, my visiom went dark for a moment, and the impact caused the tree to drop all its snow on me. surprisngly enough i walked away from that crash with 0 injuries, not even bruises afterwards, no soreness, nothing. i was just. Very hungry, i ate more than i ever had that evening 😭😭😭

one of my favs was that time a boulder fell on me in hawaii and I had to hike two miles to the car from the trail, my legs wrapped in various stuff like a medical mask and period pad, and now I have a cool scar from where the hole was!!

No but actually my aunt's dog straight up bit me on the arm when i was in the fourth grade and then the next day (the fourth of july lol) i had to go to the ER because of it. I have three puncture scars from the dogs teeth and fun fact (icky stuff warning) some of my flesh was sitting outside of my wound and then when it healed it went back in. also if you feel the area where the largest puncture scar is, you can feel a dip in my skin where the dog actually took some flesh with it. I kinda just forget it exists but its really fun for me to tell as long as someone isn't squeamish.

when I was younger I was riding my bike down my street REALLY fast, and turned to look behind me at my brother and immediately got flung and ATE SHIT on the concrete. I got all sorts of injuries from that fall, but the worst was my left shoulder and elbow- my elbow which was hit so hard you could see it was indented (with blood ofc 🤭) and my shoulder had so many bleeding cuts that I looked down and only saw red 😎 Thankfully, years later, the only thing I have from that fall is a big scar on my shoulder and a fear of riding bikes LOL

the last time i went to india w my family was in 2023 and me and my sister got the most outrageous case of food poisoning so we were literally on fluids and had to take blood tests everyday from my grandmas house

I have to ya'll!!! I have two fun facts, the first one is for my followers tho and why I don't charge for commission :P
Im a minor, so that's why I don't make you lovely people pay for my art :) also, don't be gross, I'm only 14.
One time in the summer, I found out that soft shell turtles swallow their food whole, so 14 year old me thought it would be cool to also swallow my food whole. 🙄 Well, out of all the foods I chose, I chose a grape. I giant, green grape. I swallowed it and it got stuck in my esophagus, big surprise! I couldn't throw it up or drink anything because it was blocking the whole passage. Luckily my mom called me and she had to call the ambulance, and these handsome guys came into my house while saliva was dripping from my mouth (cuz I couldn't swallow anything). The grape ended up going down on the ride to the hospital tho, and my sister visited me in the hospital room cuz she cleans there. The funny part was, I was in my pj's, no shoes or socks, and no glasses. XD
