birthday rant;

So today was my birthday. I think that it went pretty freaking well, considering everything. Mom and I went to see the new X-Men, which was amazing. My mother, husband, aunt, and grandmother have all given me a total of about $300 which I am saving up for a new desktop for my office. We had cake and also watched Game of Thrones, since that went down today too. A lot of things about today hurts me, but. I'm not gonna worry about it or take the time to even type about it. I have some amazing friends and family and I need to be thankful for it. Tonight I am going to actually do some drawing. I dunno if I will post any of it -- but I need to at least doodle before bed.

This guy is for a post-apocalyptic robots vs. zombiemonsters type deal that is still in the infant stages of planning -- to the point where until tonight he was named "Main Character 1." I have really wanted to draw him the past few days and had the time and chance to give it a shot tonight. His design is becoming more and more fun.

I am such a piece of shit.

As this title suggests, my mood isn't that great. I only have $54 to my name and am in such a horrible slump concerning my art, dreams, ect. I really want a new desktop -- but then I'll probably want a new office chair too. Then a better mouse. Then a better mousepad. Then new rugs. Then I will want the hole in the ceiling fixed. Then who knows what. My ability to procrastinate has basically made it so the past 4/5 years have been a waste, art wise. I hate my stuff so much that I barely draw anymore. I have an 80+ page comic that I need to just sit down and write -- I tell myself I need to do this to explore my style, to explore comic making, ect but I secretly hope that everyone will love it and it will be some kind of big hit and I will magically become famous. This, in turn, makes me feel like if I don't produce something worth buying, I am automatically shit. To help with this I have started to make a list of Shit Everyone Needs To Draw To Be Noticed judging by what I have seen on Tumblr/DA/life in general. Hopefully I will actually work on some of those prompts. Kind of like a sarcastic art challenge?
