GiyuuSane Analysis (Part 7/∞): This Fucking Panel
I don't think I've talked enough about how much I looooove this panel. There's so much being shown here about the development of Sanemi and Giyuu's relationship and I wanna yap a little about.
Here's what I noticed:
Giyuu being the one facing us in the panel puts him in a position to protect Sanemi when needed. Sanem with his back to us puts him in a position to be protected by Giyuu. This is important because it shows fulfills each of their character arcs: Giyuu believing that he has the strength to protect and Sanemi allowing himself to rely on someone for protection.
Giyuu below on the ground because water and Sanemi in the air because wind.
For Sanemi, their pose is a callback to that scene with him and Obanai where instead of complaining he accepts and trusts Giyuu to protect him.
Giyuu's torn haori has the same body and sleeve length as Sanemi's.
Sanemi serving as the soul in their relationship (I'll expand more on this in a later post) by shouting encouragements and using 'We' instead of 'I' 🥹
Their matching tsubas of course. The tsuba on Giyuu's new katana is in the form of a whirlpool which matches the swirl of Sanemi's pinwheel tsuba.
They both fill up the frame symbolizing the equality and balance in their relationship.
Speaking of equality, I just looooove how the whole vibe screams balance and the whole back-to-back badass couple type shit. But, but, buttttttt, you wanna know the best detail about this fucking masterpiece of a panel?
Their pose forms the fucking yin yang symbol! 😭😭😭
AGHHHHHHHHHHHH!! I'm just....gtg-s I love you so muchhhhh! (*¯ ³¯*)♡
When I see this scene animated istfg 😫
*I'll add more stuff as I notice. also don't ask me where parts 1-6 are, idk either ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Another thing I noticed:
So they both sustained injuries on their back during the fight with their upper moons.
This position allows them to cover each other's back wounds since it's a really vulnerable spot 🤧
