[âż] â Raguna pretty much expected her surprise, having felt similarly when Aquaticus revealed his true identity to him. What he doesnât expect is her suddenly grabbing at her head as if she was pain, and he immediately grows alarmed at the sight. Quick to offer assistance, Raguna quickly and gingerly holds his hands out and leaves them hovering in the space between them, prepared to catch her if she ended up falling. âFrey! Are you okayâŠ?â
When a tear falls from her eye, his own eyes widen in visible surprise. He may not have known her all that well, but crying was something he never wouldâve thought heâd see from chipper, strong-willed Frey. Needless to say the sight was a shocking one to him, and with a frown, he looks on in concern. Just what had she been thinking about?
âUh⊠alrightâŠâ He drops one hand when she suddenly flusters up and backs away, awkwardly letting the other hover before dropping that one back to his side too. Just a bit, he felt a small prick of disappointment at being backed away from, and though he knew she didnât mean anything by it, there was still the implication of a lack of trust and comfort that the act carried. It made him uncomfortable to think that something like that remained between them after all theyâve been through, but he pushed the feelings aside in favor of something else that had caught his attentionâ namely, her words: vaguely remember something. Why would remembering things make her sad, and why vague? The only conclusion he could come up with was that she had trouble recalling things, though that didnât necessarily have to mean memory loss, or amnesia. Still⊠he couldnât help but feel that it resonated with his own situation on some level, much like she herself did.
Not wanting to bother her any more than she already was by bringing up her sudden tear shedding, he continues with the topic they had been discussing beforehand. âI see. Ventuswill is one of the elder dragons too, right? I asked Aquaticus about the others, and he told me that another one of them were on these islands.â He would have just left it at that, probably went on to speculate that Ventuswill could have been that other dragon, or move onto a different topic entirely.Â
But there was something about Freyâs wording that continued to gnaw at the curiosity that only seemed to surface whenever he was with her, and it was that growing curiosity that compels him to ask his next question: âBut, uh, if you feel like you know them, and canât remember⊠I canât help but wonder⊠do you⊠do you have memory problems, too?â
Frey was certainly far from being okay. Each and every time a memory comes to mind and she finds herself caught in between finally solving one of the many puzzles in her head, she falls short and is left with an incomplete puzzle. Two years of living like this has certainly been a crazy ride, but no amount of repetition can make her fully used to the feeling.
At the moment sheâs torn between feeling weak or continue acting strong. A magician is only ever as good as her mental strength and right now, that strength seemed to be faltering. Perhaps this was why she lost? She wasnât as strong as she thinks she is. Not yet, anyway.
She takes a deep breath to calm down, exhaling slowly, letting the calm wash over her. Raguna mentioning Aquaticus once more takes her back to Ventuswill, although this time around, she was much more prepared.
âMmmhmm. Ventuswill. The Divine Wind.â A loud, strong, yet still gently voice repeats that very same line in Freyâs memories, and while she could not conjure up a face, the voice itself was loud and clear. Perhaps once upon a time they really did meet. âIf that were true, then these islands must be incredibly protected by them. It canât be Ventuswill herself, if it was, Iâm sure we would have crossed paths.â And she would have felt it, for sure. If simply remembering her name stirs her up this much, Frey was certain she would have felt her presence during her many explorations around the islands. That is, if they really had a connection.
The question that follows strays away from the elder dragons and becomes more personal-- a surprise to Frey, but not enough for her to take more steps back. âToo? What do you mean?â Raguna always seemed like he belonged here in the islands-- in Arcadia, most especially. And with the amount of friends he has, she was sure he lived here for a long time. âIâve lost most of my memories a few years back, so yes, I have problems with my memories. But I canât imagine you losing yours, too. You seem... you seem very at home in Arcadia. Iâve last mine not too long ago.âÂ
