When your ship is your whole life. 😂 Apologizes for not having my cosplay completed yet. I wanted to just make it for fun! But it’s become my best ship lately so I’m ALL about it
These are bad photos to represent what I’m trying to express because of the lighting, but this is what people should see when they call me skinny. This is anorexia. When I used to be healthy I could lie down like a normal person. But that black part is my sports bra and below it are my ribs. I’m so skinny that my body is breaking down and I never eat. This isn’t pretty or beautiful or attractive. If left untreated this is a death sentence to me. I understand wanting to be skinny, wanting to be beautiful. I have that obsession that drives me to look this way. But it’s not beautiful, it’s unhealthy and terrifying. Sometimes I see people rave about how they want to look this way, but you don’t. You don’t want to be so skinny that you see bones in the mirror or that camera shot. Everyone in the world is beautiful just the way they are, but there’s no reason to be unhealthy like this or anything else. I need to learn to love myself, to stop counting my calorie intake or never eat. But for those who also suffer, we’re in it together.
Bones
They always ask me,
“Oh my, how are you so skinny?”
“Why do you never eat?”
But when I look in the mirror you ask me,
“Why are you so fat and ugly?”
“Do you enjoy looking unattractive?”
All of these voices around me,
Yet your voice is the loudest, the most unnerving.
Every moment I catch my reflection I can see you there,
Hanging over me, watching my every move,
Calculating my calorie intake;
Your eyes always on that scale I step onto.
And every time I ask, “Why?”
But you simply smile and say, “Because you must.”
I hear those words in my mind the moment I take a bite of food,
The moment I look at the label on a drink,
That moment I look in my mirror,
That moment I step on that scale, your scale.
All I repeat is “Because you must, because you must, because you must.”
But those are your words, not mine.
They don’t belong to me,
Like myself, my body, my mind.
You control them, monitor them, take them over,
Because you want to measure what makes me beautiful,
What makes me skinny,
What makes me attractive.
Yet it’s never enough, your voice never falters,
Never ceases to repeat those words.
So I doubt myself, and as time passed by I stopped asking you why,
I stopped questioning you,
Because I always knew the answer would be, “Because you must....”
And in your own twisted way it turned into, “Because I must...because I must...”
Your own obsession became my own,
So when I looked into that favorite mirror of yours and saw bones,
It pleased you...
