I just finished binge reading your ‘the pull of gravity’ series to date all last night and early this morning after waking up lmao
It is absolutely stunning. I have left a couple comments, but I still have more to say so here’s a little ramble before a question I have about it lol
{Your writing style is absolutely gorgeous and so well crafted. It’s hard to explain, but it’s the fact you don’t outright tell what is going on physically, and instead give what we need as readers to understand the scene and sandwich it between metaphors and symbolism. The way you do it makes each chapter feel like a poem within a novel: it’s awe-inspiring. It’s not just the story you’re telling that’s amazing, it’s how you’re telling it that makes it so good.}
OKAY
Here’s the question I have:
When Cole was possessing his corpse and didn’t know is was corpse, was there no stench of the dead body to alert the other ninja or himself?
Thank you very much, answer whenever you like :]
Oh gosh, hi!
I read all your comments just this morning and nearly cried on my way to work, good job! No, really, thank you, these are ones of the most beautiful comments I’ve received and I’ll be rotating those in my mind for the next forever💖
I’m incredibly happy that you enjoy my story so much and that you think so highly of it (you are right though, I’m very pedantic about writing, especially since English is not my first language, so nearly every word IS, in fact, hand picked). I am truly flattered TvT
As for your question. At the beginning of the sequel I made Zane explain to Cole, and thus the readers, that the possession happened mere minutes after death, so the natural decomposition process did not happen. And since corpses only start smelling on the second day (by the end of the first day in high temperatures) due to bacteria secreting cadaverine and causing protein decay, Cole does not.
I know Cole thinks a lot about himself rotting away but he isn’t actually. It’s more of a mental thing. He lacks nearly all visual signs of being a corpse and would be undistinguishable from a living human if it wasn’t for his injuries.
I hope that answers your question. If you have more, don’t hesitate to ask, I’ll be flattered. And if you feel like chatting, my dms are open ^v^
