DM: okay you’re face to face with Goliath and he’s like twice your size
David:... I throw a rock at him with my slingshot
DM: are you sure? This is a fig-
David: I throw a rock at him with my slingshot.
David: *rolls a 20*
DM:...
DM: okay so you kill Goliath
this is so much funnier if you assume the DM is God.
This is how I'm gonna explain dnd to people from now on
i feel like a lot of fandoms pride themselves on being gayer than the source material but have they considered being less racist and less misogynistic than the source material as well . could be revolutionary
Bnha fandom I need your help!
I am trying to find a fic I read previously and I can’t find it. Not sure if it’s been deleted or if I’m just not looking in the right spot, but I’ve tried everything I could think of and can’t find it still.
Ok so here are the details I remember:
I think the pairing is Aizawa/Izuku but NOT student teacher relationship.
Izuku starts off in the normal canon. Pretty sure he’s either a 3rd year or already a pro hero? Either way he still has OFA and all its aspects. He gets hit by some kind of time/space quirk and gets sent to an alternate universe where the Omegaverse exists. He goes to UA to talk to Nezu about being displaced and figures out about being displaced into the Omegaverse. He gets some kind of kit thing meant for late presenters and it induces a second gender presention. He goes to a dorm at UA and presents as an Alpha. There were some lines about him doing push ups in his living room and not knowing Nezu was watching through cameras? And Nezu works to set Izuku and Aizawa up?
It’s not Mobius by Foxquills, but definitely similar to it.
Please help!
UGH STOP MAKING ME DO MY JOB AT WORK
The existence of a safeword also implies the existence of a dangerword that you can use to instantly turn any sexual event into a combat encounter
#it exists and it's 'feel how cold my hands are'
not a fully formed idea but something about a modern hamlet using AI to talk to his "father" and slowly succumbing to very real and true madness as he loses his grip on reality in favour of clinging to this last remaining piece of his "father" that isn't real at all...
i've toyed with the idea that maybe, instead of having them be royals, hamlet's father started a tech company and was a ceo and the AI is still something discovered by security guards + horatio. maybe hamlet sr created it himself as a prototype or safeguard. maybe claudius made it for funsies or more nefarious purposes i.e. using his brother's voice/image for evil
i just think it would be a lot of fun... and painful. i'd probably have the AI be ever present in all of hamlet's scenes. maybe he wears a bluetooth earbud the whole play through which his "father" speaks to him and now and then the audience can hear what his "father" is saying to him. sometimes it's urging him to act, sometimes it's berating him, sometimes it's playing ads
the grief of growing
In Romeo and Juliet, Mercutio called Tybalt "Prince of Cats" because there was a book, popular at the time, with a cat prince named Tybalt in it. He was making a pop culture reference. Therefore, I move, that in a modern Romeo and Juliet retelling, Tybalt should be named Garfield.
so soft it hurts
Idea for a fantasy setting: Classic case of oppressive church in a fantasy world, with a rebellion against it. The rebellion is backed by the god the church follows because the church butchered their teachings
This is just like Matthew 21:12-13
my place of work has just restricted and forbidden the use of AI tools and any use will treated as a security and policy breach

You know, treating this seriously, people don't get what was wrong with the Soviet Union.
It wasn't the fucking Communism. Now, maybe Communism doesn't work. Maybe it inevitably leads to a failure, or eventually becomes capitalism in all but name. Maybe. We don't really know, because every economic failure in the Soviet Union could be attributed to two factors:
Economic Isolation: The USSR was blocked from the wealthiest parts of the world. Part of that was Soviet choices, but a big chunk was also the USA sabotaging them at every opportunity. The Soviet economy didn't have access to markets, couldn't grow industry effectively, and was unable to implement technological improvements.
Authoritarianism: This is the big one. The authoritarianism in the Soviet Union elevated incompetent toadies who didn't know anything about their jobs, and who implemented disastrous policies which ignored science in favor of ideology. People like Lysenko, or RFK jr. At the same time, it also forced out and punished people for not telling the leadership what they wanted to hear, so there was no chance to correct mistakes.
And the thing about these issues is, they're not unique to Communism. And they are just as disastrous in any economic system.
But people have been trained to fixate on "Communism", and thus have eagerly embraced the economic isolation and authoritarianism which were always the real problems.
