The thing that’s so fun abt Daniel and Lestat hanging out sex drugs and rock n roll style is that they’re both such fucking FREAKS but like in such different ways. Daniel’s favorite hobby is (was? Will be? TBD) cucking his boyfriend and drinking each others blood but Lestat has foursomes in elevators and sex dreams about Jesus Christ and also actual sex with his actual mom so he probably has Danny boy beat there as only few do but also Lestat we must remember is from 18th century France and does LSD One (1) fucking time and loses his shit so bad he nearly falls over like 5 times gets his shit rocked and then reveals his vampirism to a bunch of corporate drones, oopsies!! Happens king, we’ve all done embarrassing things at work parties, meanwhile Daniel “not new to this but true to this” Molloy (“this” being recreational drug use) who has probably used crack pipes in ways most of us could only dream of and is presumably on the exact same drugs as Lestat not only manages to Not get his shit rocked but to stay sharp enough to continue to grill Lestat about his childhood trauma. GOD this duo is fantastic.
ohhhh so the dm scene you liked was the park scene that leaked last year? i was kinda hoping for something else since we already knew about that. still cool to know it's definitely real though. would you say that's the extent of devil's minion content for the season then?
Anon, yes—but you’ll be fascinated to know that’s not all. We did not know everything there was to know about that scene. Far, far from it, in fact.
So, even in that park scene, there are more lines near the end of it that were not in the leak (which, by the way: the leaked lines themselves were not even 100% accurate; it’s a more detailed conversation than what got out), and one of the lines near the end of it that weren’t leaked in particular, in my estimation, hints at more having happened in the past. And the park scene is not where DM dealings stop this season, let alone whatever Episode 7 still has yet to bring us, so…please don’t despair at all. When I’ve been sitting here telling you I’m super fucking happy for a reason, I AM ACTUALLY HAPPY FOR LOTS OF REASONS. I’m not a person given to using hyperbole, and I’m also usually quite fucking cautious. If I can’t back something up with strong-to-explicit textual/in-show evidence, then I just won’t risk telling people anything.
But let me back up again and say, that wasn't the only DM scene I loved. Every time they're onscreen together, it was tricky for me to keep my composure. Every second counts. They didn't waste any scene between Armand and Daniel, they truly didn't.
In fact, Lestat should have thought twice before choosing Daniel as the director of his documentary. He already wrote a book after which Armand, so beautiful and innocent, gained the most fans. Now he’s going to talk about chopping hands and other fun stuff and once again everyone will love Armand, because he’s a super hot yandere, so dark and mysterious. Daniel just can’t portray Daddy in an unattractive way.
