Ohhhhhhhh yes. I like the idea that Dragon! Sylus doesnt eat until after his darling does, always making sure theyve had their fill before he does, like bro doesnt bring back enough food to feed a family of seven?? Which??? He eats all of it?? Fast ahh dragon metabolism. But thats just another reason why his darling gets fed first. Gotta make sure they're full before he scarfs down whatever is left (seriously how the FUCK did he get an ENTIRE MOOSE DOWN in less than an hour)
Dragon! Sylus who isnt used to eating slowly. He's well. An animal. A giant one at that. He needs fuel and a LOT of it. In the wild if you dont eat quick, you're liable to loosing your food. That translates to dragons too, they have that instinct. Barely chewing, ripping meat off bones as fast they can- well. Human darling on the other hand. They take their time. Eating too fast unsettles their human tummy (another human flaw he bitches and grumbles about)
Human! Darling who eats slow, chewing each bite throughly, waiting before taking another. It drives sylus INSANE. Theres so much food laid out, he's mouth is watering, near drooling, licking over his chops. His tongue is licking over his darling mouth and his own the longer his darling takes. He would never rush them ofc, they need their nutrients and if this is how, thats how. But BOY does he get impatient abt it.
Dragon! Sylus who slaps his and his mate's belly while they eat, (not hard enough to hurt his human ofc) something something helping with digestion he rumbles (hes full of shit and he knows it) its more subconscious than anything. His tail swishes and circles around them, making space and feeling for any other animals that could take the food (theyre like 500 feet up in the mountains in a cave thats only accessible by flying. Theres nothing. But hes paranoid, forgive him) He nuzzles, he licks, he huffs, squirms, hums, growls, chitters, ALL OF IT. And it gets more frequent and louder throughout the meal. Once his darling FINALLY, FINALLY finishes (it took maybe 15 minutes, he is so dramatic) he carefully sets his food coma ridden darling on their nest, tucking them in, one last lick over to get any stray crumbs he missed, and hes OFF
Dragon! Sylus who practically runs to the rest of the hunt, scarffing it down, his tail and hands slapping against his chest and stomach as he eats (think subconscious stim, like bouncing ur leg), blood dripping down his face and chin (he cooks his darlings food ofc, but sometimes. He just wants to eat a whole animal raw okay. Let the feral man succumb to his instincts), talons and claws a mess, he shakes his head and growls when a particular rough chunk of meat comes up, his teeth clamped and locked, shaking his head, tugging near violently to get it off. He manages and the sound that follows is up their with one of his darlings favorite sounds- a low, content victory grumble, it near rattles the cave as he eats. You know when cats make them "ohnomnom" sound when they eat sometimes??? Yeah. That.
