How do you decide which pronouns to use when referring to someone when you don't yet know their pronouns?
I use she, he, or they based on how ppl look: "fem", "masc" or "androgynous"
Same as above, but typically only defaulting to she or he
I don't use ANY pronouns until told otherwise (using name only)
I default to they/them until told otherwise
Same as #1, but I don't go by looks, I go by Gender Vibes
I default to they/them unless the person gives me Cis Vibes
Other, or a combo of the above (specify in tags)

i’ve probably said this before but personally i feel like judging queer stories/characters/relationships only by whether they’re “good representation” or not and nothing else is extremely…. stifling
sure it’s definitely useful to ask ourselves “does this narrative play into harmful stereotypes about queer people?” or “are these writers treating their queer characters with respect?” but….. maybe it’s also worth just asking “is this an interesting and enjoyable story?”
like idk but imo queer content tends to be most compelling when it’s created with thoughtfulness and care but not as an exercise in box-checking with the hyperspecific goal of being the Best Representation Ever™ which is impossible to achieve anyway bc nothing’s perfect
