out of a rock
upside down in a freakin LAKE
out of an Indiana courthouse
out of ANOTHER

none of that is a reasonable expectation!!!
i like trees
I hate that when you’re stressed enough your body just starts falling apart. I think it should realize you’re already stressed and don’t need that and start functioning better actually
aranessa last episode going "clearly you didn't get invited to the lord einfasen's wedding" (about her having flown with the eagles before and occtis being new to this) and him muttering "i wasn't even alive" just reminding me once more that had c4 taken place today occtis would have been born in 2005
(via @anonym-potato)
okay 1) vaelus is still hung up on the siege of baghdad is really funny and deserved to be on the post
2) yep! to do the full cast's birth years if c4 took place today:
vaelus some time in the 1100s-1200s
the shaper's war took place in the late 40s-early 50s, bolaire would have been created in 1952-53
hal and thaisha are 70s kids (1979 is the absolute youngest they could be)
kattigan and thjazi somewhere in the mid 1980s
aranessa a little younger probably in the mid-late 80s
i have to assume teor and murray are also 80s-early 90s but we have no information on them
since @minathevampireslayer in another reblog called occtis the gen z to aranessa's older millenial, julien wick and azune get to join me in Who's Generation Is It Anyway? (julien 95-96, wick 96-97, azune 98)
for hal and thaisha's kids, alogar is also 1998, shadia 2000, hero 2007
the first time we see thimble is in 2006, so she's definitely older than that! with faeries at the time being immortal though who knows how much older
occtis has been mentioned already at 2005
tyranny is six months old.
saw this post show up in my activity again so thinking about it actually we've got two updates!
aranessa is likely slightly older than thjazi, born some time in the early 80s
and since murray was (presumably) already an adult for that flashback of the penteveral founding, the youngest she could be is also early 80s
(but we know she's younger than bolaire, for the upper limit on her potential age)
aranessa is a 1981 kid!
Im enjoying the longevity of tumblrs recontextualization style of humor. a seemingly innocuous post followed by like "posts that a gnome would make" or like "are you a phone"

Wow thanks everyone ;v;
Mini lore snippet lol: at first I just doodled the cat alone in the middle of a page, but I loved him so much I just turned the page and drew the whole thing. He's so great.
"Sewing is a gateway drug to thinking through complex problems. It seems really simple; culturally, we make it women's work. Let me tell you: real sewing at any kind of level of proficiency is a bloody magic trick. Sewing, like mold making, involves mental frames that require one to think inside out and backwards. It requires one to work on an order of operations that is often taking into account the reverse. It's a really, really important skill, and if you learn how to sew, you're mostly on your way to carpentry and welding and sheet metal work. I'm not kidding: these are planar forms meeting under rules and conditions. And if you can make a sleeve work, I swear to God, you could build a house."

Lately I’ve been really into being honest to people about my positive feelings towards them. I told my classmate that I’ve admired her creativity from the start and named a project of hers that I loved, and her face lit up! I took the train with a project partner the other day and told her that I always have so much fun with her, and it prompted an entire conversation about the difficulties of graduating from ‘classmates’ to ‘friends’ and both of our insecurities in this regard (and how we’re definitely getting coffee later). I express my gratitude honestly. I say what I feel if I’d be happy hearing it, myself. I remember details so that I can refer to them later. Once you realize how great you can make someone feel, all of those mundane moments become so special. It will maybe even create some lasting connections, something I think we could all use more of.
This is a great idea. Not just for building friends but for lifting up the people around you! What a wonderful way to interact with the world.
You literally just have to get really good at continuing.
