Thanks to Hannah ( @cicada-bones) for planting the idea in my mind of what could have been in store for Lorcan and Aelin post-koa, and also for the title.
5 times Rowan finds drunken Aelin and Lorcan causing trouble + 1 time he gets them started. post-koa aelorcan bonding. (4.7k)

Lord Lorcan Lochan, she still laughs every time she hears his name, is not her favourite person. He is her favourite person, however, to beat at cards.
Aelin isn’t sure how they ended up here, just the two of them. He and Elide are visiting from Perranth on ‘official business’ which she knows is just code for visiting their friends. Aelin has loved having Elide here; she missed out on so much time with Elide in the years they were apart, and she takes every chance she can to see her now that Terrasen has begun to settle and rebuild.
She’s not sure what time Elide drifted off to bed, and she knows Rowan’s meeting with the Ambassador from Wendlyn is likely to run long, but she hadn’t expected herself to end up here, in a booth in the back corner of a small, dark tavern in Orynth with Lorcan.

Six Years Ago
Ever since she was a child, Aelin Galathynius had loved summer.
Although her home, Terrasen, was known for their beautiful yet brutal winters, their summers held just as much splendor. The air grew warm, but not too hot. Just enough to work up a bit of a sweat, for their lakes and rivers to provide a refreshing and brisk cool-down.
So many of Aelin’s fondest childhood memories were from her summers, when school was out and she had nothing but time to spend with her family and friends. Through most of her childhood, Aelin would spend her summers at her family’s country estate. It was a charming home on a sprawling plot of land planted right on the edge of the Oakwald. For the most part, it was quiet and isolated, a stark difference from the hustle and bustle of the city life Aelin had grown up in.

Fun fact. My psych class had a final paper due where we pick a fictional character and diagnose their mental disorder and prescribe a method of treatment. And I obviously picked Nesta Archeron and PTSD. I could have done depression but I went above the page limit.
I used the DSM5 and went through every single criterion for PTSD. For those of you who don't know, some psychologists follow the rules of the DSM where a person is diagnosed with said mental disorder if and only if they exhibit/have every single bullet point. And I would just like to say for any anti saying Nesta ain't been through a lot....MY GIRL FULFILLED EVERY SINGLE DAMNED CRITERION........AND THERE ARE 8 OF THEM....WITH SOME OF THEM REQUIRING MORE THAN ONE TYPE OF EXAMPLE.
Another fun fact-I only used ACOFAS as textual support and I was able to find a quote not just from Nesta's pov but from multiple character povs throughout when they discuss Nesta as proof of another criterion of PTSD Nesta was exhibiting.
Final fun fact- I had to cut out like a whole page of quotes and support bc I ran above my limit, but that just shows, ACOFAS was littered with proof of Nesta's trauma. You just have to look. So when antis say they still don't like or get Nesta, even after ACOFAS, I don't get them.
hi! I just wanted to say I love your writing 😳

It’s been almost three hours now, and Percy feels as if he couldn’t move anymore even if he wanted to. Crouching behind a statue of some forgotten god is wreaking havoc on his back. If this potential lead turns out to be another dead end and he wasted a perfectly good evening staking out some dusty museum, even if that museum is owned by one of his best friends, he might have to officially retire from the private investigating business altogether. He’s only twenty-eight, he’s sure he could probably find some cushy job to pay the bills.
All thoughts of a comfortable office chair and a job where he isn’t shot at on the regular are chased from his mind as a shadowy figure creeps into the room. The movements are graceful, quieter than any normal human being has a right to be. Percy tenses, hand creeping to the gun by his hip. The room is dark, lit only by the slight shine the moon reflects through the expansive skylights above. His breath slows, watching as the lithe form approaches, their face turned upwards to a statue near his own. One more step brings them directly beneath a skylight, and his thief’s face is revealed.

YEA NOW WHAT I’m inVESTED this is so cool
Newlywed manorian head-canon please?
they’re not your usual married couple
and that doesn’t really come as a surprise to anybody
for firsts, manon and dorian keep living separately
tending to their kingdoms, ruling on their own
and it’s something they agreed on very early on
mainly because dorian still refused to let manon be shackled to him
she had her own people, her own destiny to fulfill
and he would not be a wall in front of that
but being married meant something completely different to them
it meant that now they had more of an excuse to visit each other
and dorian knew that they hadn’t need to be married in the first place to do that, to be together and be happy-
but when he’d proposed to her, a few years after the war, it was more of a confession than a true marriage proposal
he had a ring, yes
but he hadn’t shown it to her, somehow afraid that she was going to disappear into thin air at the actual sight of it
but manon, after his whole speech, had simply stared at his face
and quietly, very quietly, she had asked, “Aren’t you going to give me that ring in your back pocket?”
that was her yes to him
and she’d whispered that word over and over against his lips countless times after that
being newlyweds, however, did not mean that they could simply leave their kingdoms for a long period of time
(ya’ll have no idea how much energy it took for my vine-loving ass to not say: a long periololically time jfc)
(if you get that i love u)
so their supposed honeymoon was spent in a cabin in the mountains near adarlan - between their kingdoms, a common ground where they could be easily reached if trouble came
but a place they could be alone, truly alone, for the first time in forever
(FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREEEEEVER THERE’LL BE MAGIC THERE’LL BE FUUUUUUUUUN)
(okay ya’ll sorry i’m in a mood imma stop)
manon had stared at the cabin - not actually a cabin
in her eyes it looked as grand as any manor
“I had it renovated,” he said to her, shrugging as if there was no big deal. “Just for you and I. A haven. Of sorts.”
manon quirked a brow, “For you, mainly, I would guess. So you may be as loud as you wish, Princeling.”
dorian smirked as he scooped up his wife in his arms
literally scooped her, as if she weren’t one of the most feared creatures on their planet
manon gave him a look, snow falling onto his midnight hair, but he dismissed her gaze as he said, “I have no clue why you keep calling me Princeling, love,” he kissed her, gentle and yet with a hint of wickedness, something that promised that there was more to come. “I am a king.”
and there was something about that word he used, and had never before used with her - love
it tore her apart
not that she would ever let him see that
her husband
she almost shook her head at the thought
how had she managed to open her heart so wide for him, she didn’t know
and manon didn’t really care to think about it as she told him, “Aren’t you going to show me our haven of sorts?”
dorian walked with his new wife in his arms, despite the roll of her eyes
he set her down onto the wooden floor, watching her as she marvelled at the interior
it was simple, warm - which was useful in this snow-capped mountains
but the look on her face-
it took dorian by surprise
it wasn’t often that he saw manon like this - so off guard, so wide-eyed and mouth agape and eyes bright
he smiled, then touched the small of her back, leading her to the main room
manon stopped in her tracks
and then advanced slowly towards the stack of beautiful leathers - and knives in the center of the table
as queen, she had a whole amount of supply of leathers, but these-
even for abraxos
he’d gotten abraxos new leathers
manon looked over them, touched the knives and pulled back to see a beautiful crafted bow
hand-made, for what she could see
dorian was silent behind her
until he said gently, “A wedding gift. As is this house.”
silence
manon slowly turned and mumbled, “I didn’t get you anything.”
dorian’s eyes flashed, he was radiant. “I already have everything I want.”
manon breath was caught from her lungs as she touched the leathers again
these had to be a fortune
these were leathers fit for a queen
and the weapons-
“Most husbands don’t give their wives weapons as wedding gifts.”
dorian smiled again. “I’m not like most husbands and you’re not most like most wives.”
“I love you.”
dorian’s heart skipped a beat
literally skipped a beat the moment manon crossed the room and touched her lips to his
the words filled his heart
as did her tenderness
she pulled back, and ember met blue as she said, “I love you.”
dorian swallowed the lump in his throat. “You have access to leathers and weapons. But I thought you would treasure these all the same.”
indeed
but the fact that he was the one offering them to her-
manon didn’t miss the pride glinting in dorian’s eyes
he said to her, “I love you.”
manon turned her head to the side, watching him with a sort of marvelled wonder in her eyes
she touched his cheek
that tenderness showing again
and she whispered, “Aren’t there other rooms that you wish to show me?”
and when she bit her lip, dorian smirked. “I think there’s one in particular that you would like to see.”
with a smile from her, dorian scooped his wife up again, and walked them up the stairs

make this dream last forever
in which percy and annabeth are in the hospital, and he wants this to be a dream that lasts forever,, percabeth
“Are you okay?”
Percy blinks slowly, lifting his gaze up from the small hospital basinet. He is suddenly much more aware of the machines beeping around him, a steady thrum. The room is cold, but all he can feel when he looks up is warmth at the scene in front of hm.
“I’m okay,” he answers with a soft smile, now looking at his wife. She looks entirely exhausted, but beautiful as ever. “Just tired.”
Annabeth snorts. “You’re tired?”
“Watching your wife push out a baby is hard work.”
“Okay, Jackson. Watch it.”
Percy rolls his eyes fondly, looking back to the basinet. He is so enchanted by this baby — their baby – with her tufts of blonde hair and the most perfect pout. She’s wrapped tightly in a swaddle, fast asleep, and Percy nearly melts on the spot. He can’t resist reaching out to gently trace her tiny fist, and his eyes tear up when her fingers wrap around the tip of his.
“She’s perfect, isn’t she?”
Perfect couldn’t even begin to describe her, Percy thinks. “She is,” he agrees. “She looks just like you.”
Annabeth makes a sound of disagreement as she shuffles in the bed to get more comfortable. She plays around with the hospital band that matches the one on their baby while she watches Percy begin to lift the baby to his arms.
Somehow, this moment feels even better with his baby in his arms. She’s just so small and fragile, and he’s absolutely terrified but thrilled at the same time. This is the beginning of a future with Annabeth, one filled with kids and memories he’ll forever hold close to his heart, and it is something he never thought he’d live to see but is so glad he did.
He slowly brings her to Annabeth, letting his wife pry the baby from his arms. She settles her close to her chest, atop her heartbeat, and all he can think is—
Home. This is his home. He is right where he’s supposed to be, warm inside of this hospital room with dim lights, staring out the window with the snowflakes falling while he holds his family in his arms.
Percy sits on the bed next to Annabeth, careful with the cords, and he looks over her shoulder. He presses a kiss to her temple while his other hand carefully caresses his daughters back. He could stay right here in this moment, making this dream last forever.

Where Has Aelin Galathynius Been Hiding?
No one notices her. With every step Aelin takes as they roam the city, she expects someone—anyone—to catch her or Rowan or her and Rowan. She waits with bated breath for the hell to ensue at the sight of them out on a brunch date. The cameras. The mob of people. The invasion of privacy. The questions that are no one’s business.
But no one does.
It leaves Aelin wondering—no, obsessing—over her appearance. Maybe she’s just so hideous right now that nobody can recognize the usually glammed up pop star, the blonde bombshell that seized Doranelle by storm with her glitz and glam. Aelin doesn’t think anyone really remembers her for her Cadre days, which is odd, to say the least.
Aelin frowns. She can’t possibly be that unrecognizable in a pair of dark skinny jeans and Rowan’s old hoodie, right? What’s happened to her?

here we mark the price of freedom
in which Percy and Annabeth meet in World War II, and they learn that freedom comes at a price,, percabeth 10k
December 22, 1941
Percy is sitting on the ground outside, watching as other soldiers surrounding him mess around. It is rather cold outside, but the people around him have smiles on their faces, and it warms his heart from the icy fear that he has felt for the past few weeks.
A pack of food is in his hands, but he makes no move to eat it. He doesn’t think that he could eat even if he tried — maybe everyone else could dismiss the things going on, the things that they would soon have to face, but he couldn’t. They were here for a reason, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. This war was not going to be smooth sailing, and though he doesn’t know how it’s going to go, he knows he’s not going to like how this ends.
He’s going to come out broken or dead. He doesn’t know which one is the better option.
Percy glances back towards the barracks, contemplating heading inside for the night. He is so tired that he could curl up on the ground and fall asleep like that, but he can hear the noise and complaints from here, and he decides against it.
It’s hours spent like that, staring off into the sky, before the sun begins to settle slightly. The wind blows here in the Pacific theater, and he is well aware that he needs to head inside soon before he gets in trouble for stepping out of line. Nightfall is the prime time for attack, but he stays anyways. Just a little bit longer.
Percy finally rips open the military dinner, and the packet of M&Ms that falls out brings him a memory of his mother. She was probably worried sick, not knowing where he was anymore. He thumbs the wrapper, giving himself a chance to miss her, before he settles it beside him and decides to eat his dinner. He chews in silence, only a few stray people still out in the winter air, just thinking. It was all he ever did anymore, thinking. He wishes he could shut off his brain sometimes, like the other soldiers were able to do.
He blinks in surprise as someone slides onto the log next to him. He doesn’t make immediate eye contact, in fear of who this person was, if they were here to purposely torment him, to make his eyes fill with fury.
Instead, when he shoots a glance their way, he sees a head of blonde hair. He still doesn’t make direct eye contact, and that is when this person hangs their head into his vision, looking up at him with a smirk.
“Hello?” the girl says, a teasing tone to his voice. “Anyone home?”
Percy gives her a scolding look, but he’s so confused that it doesn’t have much effect other than making the girl laugh out loud. He decides he likes her laugh, so smooth and melodic, a laugh he can get used to.
“Are you okay?” she asks. She rips open a pack identical to Percy’s and pulls out her own food, choosing to nibble on the edge of a soft granola bar.
“Are you?” is all he can say, still blinking at her with curiosity. “Why are you over here?”
She looks around before glancing back at him and shrugging in mock neutrality. “Am I not allowed to be over here, or something?”
“I— do I know you?”
“You’re great at making friends. Has anyone told you that?”
“Now you’re making fun of me.”
“Only a little bit,” she agrees. Percy looks her in the eyes, and his breath catches on her striking grey eyes. She’s beautiful, and Percy begins to wonder why she was here, in such a dangerous mess. “You looked like you could use company.”
“So you’re giving me pity,” he says.
“If you want to call it that, then sure. I didn’t want to be alone either, though.”
“A match made in heaven, then,” Percy says. “Now do you want to tell me what you really wanted?”
“Well,” she starts, waving around her granola bar. Her hair is in her face, blowing in the wind. Her clothes are a little baggy and dirty, but he can’t blame her. He doesn’t look any better. “I had to eat dinner, and I saw you over here by yourself and thought, ‘why don’t I eat with him?’”
“You were supposed to eat before sundown.”
“I could say the same for you, Percy.”
Percy starts, an unfamiliar bubbling in his stomach. “You know my name,” he states.
“Everyone here knows your name,” she answers. “You’re very well known. From the way this conversation is going, I can’t imagine why.”
Percy can’t help the slight grin. “Well, now you’re just not giving me a chance. You caught me off guard is all.”
“Off guard is apparently when you look best,” she says, leaning forwards to whisper in his ear. When she speaks, he can feel her hot breath on his ear. “People think you’re attractive. All the girls in my barracks won’t shut up about it.”
“I had no idea I was such a popular soldier.”
“You have to give them a break, though,” she says, munching down on another bite of her food. “Chances are that a good portion of us are going to be dead once this war ends. We all just want to live while we still can.”
“And what about you?”
“What about me?”
The sun has settled more now, and she is with the moonlight shining down on her, illuminating her golden curls. Percy has to swallow before he can speak. “Are you just trying to live while you still can?”
“Of course,” she says. “That’s why I’m here.”
“Talking to me?”
“Yes, but…” She gestures broadly to the distance around them. “That’s why I’m here. I’m going to die eventually, but I’m not afraid of death, so… I want to live. Do something with my life. Maybe save a few lives while I’m at it. Really get the chance to live, you know?”
“I get that,” Percy says.
“Is that why you’re here?”
“God, no,” Percy breathes. “I was drafted.”
“Oh,” she says. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s life, I guess. When has this country ever been fair?”
“That’s not talk I’d ever hear come from an American soldier.”
“Yeah, well, this soldier life isn’t exactly the most entertaining.” He snorts. “I think you may be the first real conversation I’ve had since I’ve left.”
“That’s depressing,” she says, setting her food to the ground. She picks up his packet of M&Ms, and her jaw falls open. “Of course you’d get the good candy.”
Percy is oddly endeared by her as she twirls it between her fingers, grey eyes analyzing every detail of the wrapper. “You can have it,” he finds himself saying.
Her eyes meet his and a flash of thanks passes over them. She positions her fingers on the paper to rip them open, but she pauses. “Are you sure you don’t want them?”
“I’m sure,” he says. Eating them now would probably make him sad anyways as he remembered his mom. It’s worth it when she tears it open and pops one in her mouth, a soft smile taking over her face.
“It tastes like back home,” she explains. “My brother and I used to take turns trying to steal bits of chocolate from a bakery.”
“Where are you from?” he asks.
“San Francisco,” she says.
Percy has never been, but there’s something about this girl that makes him wish he had.
“How about you?”
“New York,” he says. “Just another boring city.”
“Boring?” She raises an eyebrow. “You, Percy Jackson, are anything but boring.”
It takes him a moment, but he realizes that he still doesn’t know her name. She’s breathtaking, especially now that he can barely see anything except the shadows of her face, and he desperately needs to know her name. He wants to feel her name on his tongue, rolling over the letters, feel how it sounded in his throat, in his own ears.
“I hardly think it’s fair that you seem to know everything about me,” he says. “Why don’t you tell me a little bit more about yourself?”
“I’m not all that interesting. You’re much nicer to discuss.”
Percy leans forwards. “Come on. Humor me.”
She smiles, and his heart skips a beat. “I’m Annabeth.”
It starts like this.

Shouldn’t love be attracting someone on your own and not forcing them to love you? Not forcing people to do stuff they don’t wanna do?? BUT HERMES? It makes sense. It’s a few moments before Percy realizes the weird noise is Annabeth’s teeth chattering.
“Are you cold?” he asks.
“N-no,” Annabeth replies defiantly. It would be more convincing if her lips weren’t a weird shade of purple. “I’m f-fine.”
Percy raises an eyebrow. “You’ve spent all of your winters on Long Island and,” he checks the temperature on the insurance company sign next door, “forty five degrees in a parka, boots, a hat, and a scarf is too much for you.”
“Camp Half Blood is climate controlled,” she grumbles, burying her face into her scarf. He’s a little taken aback by how cute she looks. Red nose and rosy cheeks, stray curls poking out from under her hat.
“Aw,” Percy says, “you’re still a Virginia girl at heart.” He kisses the side of her head, getting a mouthful of pom pom for his efforts.
Her response is to start shivering more.
“Okay, come here.” He grabs her scarf and pulls her in, unzipping his coat.
“What are you doing?” she asks, voice muffled against Percy’s chest.
“Sharing body heat,” he replies, then wraps his arms around her. “See? I’m always warm. I can share the warmth.”
“I think the expression is share the wealth,” Annabeth says, but she snuggles in against him all the same. “When do you think the bus is going to get here?”
“Eventually,” Percy replies, “and then we’ll be in my mom’s house with cookies and a small human who will try and be your personal space heater, and you’ll be warm then.”
“I’m warm now,” she mumbles, nuzzling into his neck, just a little bit.
It is only then that Percy wonders if this was one of Annabeth’s schemes. He doesn’t mind.
Blind Dating and Miscalculating
Blind dating au where Lily is on a blind date and wrongly assumes James is her date
Read below or on AO3 :)
“Whew does Mary know how to pick ‘em!” James looked up in shock to see a woman, apparently under the impression some Mary somehow ‘picked’ James leering at him, teetering from side to side as she pulled back the chair opposite him and clambered into it, nearly knocking off the unused wine glass closest to her.
Drunk. Drunk but also gorgeous. Red tendrils that likely at one point in the night were neatly arranged were now flung about her shoulders in partial disarray.
“Scuse me, I’m not quite sure you’ve got the right-”
“I told her I didn’t want to go! I said,” she reached over and grabbed his hand, pulling it towards her, wide eyes locked on his. One look at her bright green eyes (beautifully green eyes, his favorite shade of green, actually) was enough to tell that while the lights were on, nobody was home. “I said, Mary!” She exclaimed, continuing to cradle his hand close to her while gesturing wildly with the other, “Mary I have no interest in dating, period. Nevermind getting set up with some random strange man. Especially with the name Mark. I mean, look, no offense Mark and other Marks of the world but it really is a rather plain name.” She paused to catch his gaping mouth opening and closing not unlike a fish before continuing. “That’s not to say that plain is always a bad thing or that extravagant names are a good thing,” she stumbled over the word extravagant and pushed right past it, “I mean I dated this bloke, Severus, once and I thought wow such an interesting name, fascinating. Nope. Dead boring and borderline stalkerish fellow as it turns out. So you’d think I’d like plain after an experience like that, wouldn’t you?”
She stopped abruptly, eyes staring at him expectantly, apparently waiting for some form of agreement.
“Erm I suppose so?”
