Thank You 2023 for Giving Romance Anime a ComeBack!
Concept: An assassin is paid to hunt down and kill a businessman’s former spouse, who has gone into hiding. As a rather elite assassin, it doesn’t take them long to succeed where all the businessman’s shady connections, have failed, narrowing down their spouse’s location, to a small but peaceful town.
Just as they are approaching said town however, they’re caught in a freak accident that almost takes their life, leaving them severely injured, barely able to move, and temporarily blind.
By some miracle, they end up being found and taken in by one of the town’s residents, who then proceeds to do everything they can, to look after them, seeing as the town itself is actually too small to have its own medical facilities.
Over the next few weeks, the assassin is slowly and carefully nursed back to health by their saviour, finding themself steadily growing more and more unguarded around them, much to their personal confusion. Being so unfamiliar with such gentle touches and genuine kindness, it doesn’t take them long to start developing strong feelings for the stranger, something they have never experienced before.
It’s not until they finally regain their sight and get to see the person who saved them, that they discover the difficult position they’re now in, realising that their saviour, and their target, are one and the same.
