That's not missing a zero, they are not forking up the six thousand measly dollars to this volunteer-driven, historical society who run on a minimal budget, did all the repair work for free and lent them a nice boat that appears in several movie scenes.

SUCH A GOOD PROSHOT !! i normally have gripes when they change the camera/angles frequently bc i want to be able to see the whole stage as if i were at the theater, but. they did such a good job with it in this filming! the editing was so dynamic & in tune with the actors’ movements that it elevated rather than distracted

Idk but the word race science is so neutral so some reason (maybe because i am not an american to understand the weight of that word), i feel like i had to list out all the ingredients to make it, and yes i do think those things exist before race science. Because colorism stems from classim and misogyny is just there, they are both there in almost every country and continent before trading and people start sailing off to start wars, kidnap people and steal lands.

P.s it is neutral because not many people are talking about it hmmmm -> thank you for using that word because more people should know that that race science is a real thing and is as equally horrible as other terminology

My favorite part of Hadestown is you come for the pretty music and the love story and then you get beat on the head repeatedly by the reminder that the rich use and exploit our bodies for their own gain and we'll never be free until we join together and rise up against them

The thing about Hadestown is the line “To know how it ends. And still begin to sing it again. As if it might turn out this time” is an incredible way to describe most of life. We try because we have to believe that even when the ending is set in stone, it’s still worth trying. It’s still better to be a person who tried.

Every time I have seen Hadestown - on stage or in the movie theater - people gasp when Orpheus turns around. I just love how it's so old and yet everyone is still always hoping that this time
