"For our last number, I'd like to ask your help. Would the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands, and the rest of you, just rattle your jewelry."
Why should I care about “good” cops? Who gets congratulated for doing their job right? "Thank you, officer, for not shooting me in broad daylight. You’re the real MVP."
Ahead of the Millions March on Saturday, we should all consider what our specific places are as activists, and even just as people. Most of this applies just as much in our everyday lives.
"I'm Not Done," Fever Ray
Sometimes when I get anxious about the Knife breaking up, I listen to this and it makes me feel better.
If you start out to write a poem about two dogs fucking, and you write a poem about two dogs fucking – then you wrote a poem about two dogs fucking.

I CAN'T BREATHE
We saw their drawn faces, worried angry eyes the eyes of men and women who don't control their futures knowing FINANCES are the wormy heart of our civilization, can you live in dignity with such a truth?

Thinking of this in relation to Amanda Bynes lately. I definitely fall into this trap sometimes because it's just so much easier to shrug and say that a person is crazy than to actually try and figure out what they're going through. It's not that some people aren't legitimately struggling with something mentally, it's just that calling them crazy does not offer any help to them. It defines them by their mental illness (which goes unnamed) and places them in a gray area where we are willing to laugh at them even as we admit that they have a serious problem.
This movie is going to be really good. Jake Gyllenhaal has crazy eyes and he should be up for an Oscar.
"Strawberry Letter 23," Brothers Johnson
This song is dope. This is a dope song. As heard in Jackie Brown.
"How Can You Really," Foxygen
How can you really love someone who can't love you? How can you love someone you can't leave? It's my fault. It's your fault, too. How about you go and find somebody new?
I am so excited for this album.
You can clean around the wound But if you want it to heal, It just takes time. And you can call up to the moon But if you want something to change You gotta change your life And take your time

I adore this series. This one is bittersweet, and sadly prescient.
If you haven't seen The Fall, see it. It's an amazing film. Believe it or not, it gets even more beautiful than this opening sequence.
It's a simple question, doctor. Would you eat the moon if it was made out of barbecue ribs?
Will Ferrell as Harry Caray.
I know I would. Heck, I'd have seconds.
