Hey look! It's the 2026 poster of activities for International Zine Month!
This year I did something a little different. I've only listed a few day specific thing and the rest are to be considered prompts to do whenever you feel like it! i think some people got hung up on doing things on specific days, but they are just meant to be prompts as way to celebrate the month, not a contest. Remember this was supposed to be fun! Here's a link to download the poster in a variety of file types!

How to Start by rthwrms
for the times when you really truly want to do something, but find resistance or that starting feels impossible
most helpful action to get into a task is: look at it options include: review what you've already done open the tab on screen blur your eyes at first if that helps fullscreen the image browse or skim relevant texts let your gaze move around how it will JUST...LOOK!!!
Your brain has resistance towards starting the particular project in the way that you've previously conceived of it. Instead of fighting that resistance, try to change your approach to starting your work. Ie, start with colored pencils on a piece you were doing in gouache, include a new stitch in a crochet piece, Step one: identify the process Step two: identify places where something new can be included Step three: brainstorm new options to fill these spots Step four: select one or more options and try your piece from this new angle
encourage yourself by asking questions start with: "What am I actually trying to do right now?" then try: "What would this look like if it were more fun?" "How would I do it if anything was possible?"
divide into discrete tasks make the closest or shiniest one literally as small & specific as freaking possible

Squat It! #1-18 plus liftouts (Zines, 1985-1989)
You can read these Australian zines from the Squatters Union of Victoria here.
Aside from working on quilts for my home and shop, as well as attending and participating in local events this summer, I'm active on Postcrossing again.
What's Postcrossing? It's a website where you sign up to send and receive postcards. It helps diminish the feelings of isolation and loneliness, and gives me something look forward to. Here's my Postcrossing profile, just as a little proof I am, in fact, sending off cards.
Unfortunately, my selection of postcards is greatly diminished, and I'm low on postage for both international and local shipping. I do, however, have some options for folks who would like to help me combat the loneliness and isolation I deal with.
I have my Throne list! There are postcards and stamps there. If you fancy purchasing these on my behalf, Throne offers the option of doing so anonymously.
Currently, I have my ko-fi goal set up for ordering stamps and postcards.
If you would like something for your money, I also have a shop on ko-fi.
But, if you would like to receive a postcard from me, you can sign up as one of my members. There are other goodies too, so read the tiers. I send postcards, and sometimes I send gifts.
I highly recommend signing up with Postcrossing! It's fun and simple, with the benefit of giving you something to look forward to. I have four very full postcard albums now, and a box with enough for three more. Getting new albums isn't imperative, seeing as the box is holding them just fine. I do suggest you get a nice box to store the cards you receive.
At will, at some point, make quilted postcards. Just not anytime soon. They require a little more postage than what I currently have, especially for overseas shipping.
I have a workshop in the works about making penpals and I'm so stoked to hear about this
I made a little zine!
You can download and print it yourself for free here
A zine I made as an example for my kids comic class

I hope you like it!!
Thank you for all the work you do on this project, for keeping our history alive. Have a great day!
Thank you so much for sharing!

It's crazy because I've had almost no free time this week and all over wanted to do is try and execute this idea for the next zine club collab zine. The deadline is tomorrow and I think I've finished it after feverishly working on it every chance I got today. Thrilling but also now I'm in bed and I wish I had gotten to read my book tonight.
My finished page is weird and meditative but! At least I have finished something.
New zine!! These will be on my booth for free!! + added a PNG if you’d like to print your own! ✨
