After dropping out of college and quitting his job, Johnny Storm is left with his life in shambles. He can only handle so much on his own, especially now that he is also newly single and unbearably clingy. Enter his best friend, Peter Parker, who seems to have his life together in way that Johnny can only aspire to reach.

Excerpt from Chapter 7:
âI mean, of course weâre close. Weâre best friends.â
Peter looked up with a crooked smile. âYeah, thatâs what I told him.â
Johnny nodded, leaning in a touch. âRight? I mean, itâd be weird if we were anything else.â
Peter gave a soft laugh, but Johnny noticed the slight pause in the motion of his fork, the flicker of thought behind his eyes.
Then, almost offhandedly, Johnny licked his thumb, reached across the table, and gently swiped the corner of Peterâs mouth where a streak of sauce had landed.
âGot something,â he said smoothly.
Peter froze for a second, eyes going wide.
But Johnny just pulled his hand back, licked his thumb while hollowing out his cheeks and pulled it out with a pop, and continued without missing a beat.
âSo,â he said breezily, âHow was work today?â
