yeah the guy who invented them made incredibly precise infusion pumps (as opposed to gravity fed ivs) which not only meant they could give medications to teeny tiny babies safely, it's also used for insulin pumps and portable dialysis machines. the key element is that it's a peristaltic pump so the liquid stays in sterile tubing for safety

Half of the time I write, I imagine that the act of writing the story is like driving through fog at night. You know you'll eventually make it all the way home, but you just can't see too far ahead. But! You can see the next 15 feet beyond your hood. That's good!

You can see the road. You're still on the path. Streetlights and plot points pop up and illuminate the moment, and then another pops up further down. Sometimes there's surprise stop(sign)s along the way, sometimes you got the green.

So long as you keep going, you'll get there! Its ok if its at a crawling pace, lots and lots of other driving writers take their time too!
