Hello, my name is M. E. Grimm and welcome to my humble abode. I am a writer of original fiction and of fanfiction who loves every medium through which a good story can be told. This is as much a blog for my personal interests as it is a way to promote my fanfictions, primarily revolving around the RWBY fandom and the Black Sun ship. Geez. I’m feeling so guilty for procrastinating so long on BSK. I love imagining these kids, but damn if it’s gotten ever harder to write them correctly.
I’m really sorry to bother but I had to ask. I’ve just finished chapter 10 of BSK and I’m loving it. I’m truly obsessed with. Not trying to flatter you but your work is truly amazing. Anyway I was wondering if you were planning on finishing the story, as it is really good? Is that possible for you to do or am I the only one asking you to complete it?
Dear siakiii, I appreciate the praise, and want to use this post to apologize to all my followers for the complete radio silence that my page has experienced over the past several months. I’ve been generally busy with college, personal life events, and with trying to write my own original stories whenever I can. I’ve all but lost interest in continuing to follow the show RWBY at this point. HOWEVER, I love the Black Sun Kittens. I owe it to their story and to all of you, my faithful readers, to finish their story at least before saying goodbye to RWBY for good. That being said, though, I am still on an extended hiatus with the story, as I am conflicted as to which of the kids’ stories I want to tell next. I won’t lie; though I had fun writing Dawn’s chapters during the Adam’s Funeral arc, I genuinely can’t think of what else that might happen with her and Sun that I - and subsequently YOU all - would find genuinely engaging and interesting to read. However, I feel like simply going back to Dusk’s story and continuing on to finish BSK by only telling his story also seems like a waste of Dawn’s character. It’s rough on me to think about what to do next, I’ll be honest. However, I want to end the story of Blake, Sun, and their kids simply because I personally enjoy thinking about them. I haven’t forgotten about Black Sun Kittens, and I haven’t forgotten about all the praise ya’ll continue to shower on me in spite of my hiatus. BSK is NOT discontinued. But it is delayed. For now, at least. Thanks a million, billion, trillion again to all of you who are still waiting for the next chapter. I don’t deserve a readership as loyal as ya’ll. Steven Universe Analysis: Lapis Lazuli, The Epic of Gilgamesh, and the Archetypal Flood Myth
This may be a bit of a random post, but a recent discussion I had in one of my religious studies classes brought to my attention something... very interesting regarding the Mesopotamian Flood Myth. While the ideas are still fresh in my head, I thought I’d go ahead and write down my analysis and try and share with you my thoughts.
tl;dr / General Statement - The Lapis Lazuli gem, much like the character of Lapis Lazuli in “Steven Universe,” represents humanity’s relationship with catastrophes or, in an archetypal standpoint, represents awareness of a coming Flood. This can be seen in the Epic of Gilgamesh when, after Utnapishtim survives the World Flood, the Lapis Lazuli gem serves as a token of remembrance for the World Flood, as well as to always remember Enlil’s divine negligence as being the primary reason the Flood occurred. This can also be seen in Steven Universe in how Lapis Lazuli seems to be, herself, a Flood in humanoid form, whose wrath is kindled because of the negligence of the Diamond Authority, and after being healed by Steven, serves as a living reminder of the ever-present danger of the Diamonds and Homeworld.
I wish I could write a larger analytical paper on this subject, but I lack the time, the willpower, and the resolve to undertake such a task simply on my own time. If anyone else is interested in a further explanation of such, feel free to PM me. Lapis Lazuli is one of my top three favorite characters in Steven Universe and this recent discovery of mine has got me all up in a tizzy.

Some of you might be waking up to discover the unfortunate news about the untimely passing of actor Stefán Karl Stefánsson. The vast majority of you probably know him as Lazytown antagonist Robbie Rotten, thanks in no small part to the silvagunner-led surge in popularity to the song “We are number one”. Others might know him for his vast theater career, or even in the game For Honor. Regardless of how you came to know him, at only 43 years of age his death is absolutely devastating for a lot of people – the world is less without him.
Goodbye, Stefán.
